Hybrid Cardiac Imaging for the Invasive Cardiologist
No full textFor decades Coronary Angiography (CA) has represented the gold standard for the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease (CAD). Today, invasive cardiologists can overcome the limits of such a binary approach, based on the definition of obstructive or nonobstructive stenosis, and go deeply into the characterization of individual coronary atherosclerosis. Indeed, several auxiliary imaging techniques allow a more accurate definition of global coronary atherosclerotic burden and single plaque composition. These techniques, integrating CA “luminal” data, assure a better definition of CAD pathophysiology and detection of vulnerable lesions, resulting in improved stratification of individual cardiovascular risk. Furthermore, this hybrid invasive approach can be used to monitor the response to specific intensive pharmacotherapy aiming to reduce atherosclerosis progression. This chapter reviews the main characteristics of imaging modalities currently available to invasive cardiologists, summarizes clinical evidence supporting their use, and illustrates possible future medical implications

No full textIl saggio ripercorre alcuni aspetti e le datazioni proposte per i tre esemplari noti della Giuntina postillati da Federico Zuccari, ossia fine anni Sessanta-inizio anni Settanta per l’esemplare conservato a Parigi, anni Ottanta per quello conservato a Madrid, e infine, alla luce delle postille edite e di quelle inedite, che si trascrivono, l’esemplare Siena alla metà degli anni Settanta. In quest’ultimo, Zuccari commenta il terzo libro sugli artisti cinquecenteschi, in qualità di pittore e testimone militante del contemporaneo, esprimendo il suo sintetico parere su disegno, intelligenza, grazia, imitare il vero, il naturale, fatica e diligenza, notomie, su artisti contemporanei, sull’autore delle Vite: sono spunti di un pensiero non ancora sistematizzato ma molto netto, già tendente a concetti con contenuti personalizzati come teorico in potenza

never been investigated properly as scholar. For this contribution, I have checked at the Bibliothéque Nationale de France some
unpublished plans and drawings of the Cappella Palatina at Palermo, together with other drawings, almost totally unknown. In
this paper I would like to emphasize the interest of this architect for the antiquities and for the classical art and architecture. In
general the study of this scholar can easily communicate his view of an ‘universal architecture’, where everything can dialogue
with everything without limits, throughout time and space
