Ak-Chin Indian Community Biomass Feasiiblity Study
Study of the conversion of chicken litter to biogas for the production of energy. There was an additional requirement that after extracting the energy from the chicken litter the nutrient value of the raw chicken litter had to be returned to the Ak-Chin Farms for use as fertilizer in a form and delivery method acceptable to the Farm
The underestimated virtues of the two-sector AK model
We show that the two-sector version of the AK model proposed by Rebelo (1991) can be read as an endogenous growth extension of Greenwood, Hercowitz and Krusell (1997). By confining constant returns to capital to the investment goods sector, the model generates endogenously the secular downward trend of the relative price of equipment investment and the rising real investment rate observed in US NIPA data. Whereas Jones (1995) criticizes that the one-sector model fails to reconcile the empirical facts of trending real investment rates and stationary output growth, this incompatibility vanishes in the two-sector version. Finally, a simple technological shock can reproduce the ‘1974’ break in post World War II US data. Thus, AK-type endogenous growth models comply much better with empirical evidence, once they are augmented with a strictly concave consumption sector.AK model; embodiment; endogenous growth; obsolescence; ‘1974’

Vintage Capital and the Dynamics of the AK Model
This paper analyzes the equilibrium dynamics of an AK-type endogenous growth model with vintage capital. The inclusion of vintage capital leads to oscillatory dynamics governed by replacement echoes, which additionally influence the intercept of the balanced growth path. These features, which are in sharp contrast to those from the standard AK model, can contribute to explaining the short-run deviations observed between investment and growth rates time series. To characterize the convergence properties and the dynamics of the model we develop analytical and numerical methods that should be of interest for the general resolution of endogenous growth models with vintage capital.
Historical Importance, Design, and Modern Impact of the Kalashnikov AK Family Armament Guns
Comprehensive overview of the Kalashnikov AK family of armament guns, detailing its historical significance, evolution, design features, global impact, and comparative analysis with contemporary firearms. It delves into the motivations behind the creation of the AK series, its various generations, and key variants, as well as its global proliferation and influence on modern combat. The document also highlights the design features that contribute to the AK family's reliability and durability, its user-friendly ergonomics, and its comparative analysis with the American M16 rifle. It concludes by emphasizing the AK family's enduring legacy as a hallmark of firearm design, widely respected for its performance, reliability, and versatility
Spatial dynamics and convergence: the spatial AK model
We study the optimal dynamics of an AK economy where population is uniformly distributed along the unit circle. Locations only differ in initial capital endowments. Despite constant returns to capital, we prove that transition dynamics will set in. In particular, we prove that the spatio-temporal dynamics, induced by the willingness of the planner to give the same (detrended) consumption over space and time, lead to convergence in the level of capital across locations in the long-run.Economic Growth, Inequality, Spatial Dynamics, Convergence
The Ak Party’s Kurdish policy
This study discusses the AK Party’s Kurdish policy from the November 2002 General Elections to-date. As one of the key issues, or rather the number one issue in Turkey; the Kurdish question may be examined along four different dimensions: economic, socio-cultural, security, and political (participation). The policies that have been developed in these particular areas by the AK Party governments since 2002 and the impact of these policies on Kurdish citizens of Turkey and on various Kurdish political and social organizations have varied sporadically during the AK Party’s 15-year tenure. In times when political participation or security aspects have become more important, other aspects remained on and off the agenda. While these four areas are interrelated, examining them separately will make it easier to understand the implications of the policies developed by the AK Party to solve the Kurdish problem..
