Report: M. B. Zuckerman, "Zurban Report," circa 1966
Textual: Report, copy with red pencil marks; 11” x 8.5” (27.9 cm x 21.6 cm)Report by M. B. Zuckerman entitled "Zurban Report" circa 1966. This report from Zurban Associates discusses the potential of New Towns to aid in metropolitan growth. The report also discusses the logical role that the federal government should play in developing these new towns. The Zurban Report suggests five possible areas that could be included in a federal new town program: development aid, facilities assistance, land assembly, moderate income housing programs, and a federal new town agency. On functors associated to a simple root
Associated to a simple root of a finite-dimensional complex semisimple Lie algebra, there are several endofunctors (defined by Arkhipov, Enright, Frenkel, Irving, Jantzen, Joseph, Mathieu, Vogan and Zuckerman) on the BGG category O. We study their relations, compute cohomologies of their derived functors and describe the monoid generated by Arkhipov's and Joseph's functors and the monoid generated by Irving's functors. It turns out that the endomorphism rings of all elements in these monoids are isomorphic. We prove that the functors give rise to an action of the singular braid monoid on the bounded derived category of Oo. We also use Arkhipov's, Joseph's and Irving's functors to produce new generalized tilting modules

Reliability, Validity and Manner of Zuckerman Sensation- SeekingCulture- Based Scale
The present research aims to study reliability, validity and manner of Zuckerman sensation-seeking scale (SSS) particularly with changes of culture among the students of technical universities in Tehran, Therefore, 668 students (332 females and 336 males were randomly selected from five technical and engineering universities (Tehran University) Sharif University of Technology, Khajeh Nasir University, Amirkabir Technical University and, University of Technology) during the course of this research. The findings indicated that Zuckerman sensation-seeking scale can be employed as a simple and reliable scale in order to measure sensation. Furthermore, Zuckerman sensation-seeking scale was highly valided and reliable. The results obtained from analysis showed this scale consists of six factors i.e. sensation-seeking, experience-seeking, adventurism, annoyance- acceptance, variety-seeking and avoidance from deterrence. Moreover, there was no significant difference between male and female sensation-seeking. Whereas, the rate of sensation- seeking decreases with the increase in age. In order to explain that the result of this sensation-seeking culture based test is a standard collection which is consistent from one test to another and from one level to another, the crude numbers were changed into standard numbers. To do so, the percentage calculation norm was changed into T-number after one linear transformation
Human T-cell lymphotropic virus antibody prevalence in HIV-1-infected individuals attending a sexual health clinic in South-East London
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and human T-cell lymphotropic virus (HTLV) are both retroviruses with similar routes of transmission. A number of reports suggest variable clinical outcomes in HIV and HTLV co-infected individuals. There is no published information regarding the prevalence of HIV and HTLV co-infection in the UK. We therefore carried out an unlinked anonymised retrospective study to investigate the prevalence of HTLV co-infection in HIV infected patients attending a sexual health clinic in South-East London. We identified sera from 777 HIV-1 positive adults (504 male, 273 female) who had attended our sexual health clinic between January 2000 and March 2001. Serum samples stored at -20°C were initially tested by HTLV-1 and HTLV-2 antibody enzyme-linked immunoassay (EIA). An immunoblot assay was carried out on reactive samples to discriminate between viral subtypes. Samples with indeterminate results were also analyzed by Western blot. The prevalence of HTLV antibody was 0.8% (five patients with HTLV-1 and one with HTLV-2). Four of the HTLV-1 co-infected patients were females born abroad, of Black African or Caribbean origin. The other HTLV-1-infected patient was a male in the Black Other ethnic group born in the UK, demonstrating that transmission may occur outside recognized areas of high endemicity. The HTLV-2 co-infected individual was a White male born in Italy, and was likely to have been infected through intravenous drug use. The results suggest HTLV antibody screening should be considered in the local HIV infected population of south Londo

Constantin Zuckerman, He radius in 625. — Comparing the evidence of the Ps. -Sebeos with that of Theophanes, the author revises the itinerary of Heraclius and the chronology of his battles during the key years of the Persian campaign (625-626). One year's campaign in Theophanes, A. M. 61 15, is reduced to two months of hostilities during the winter of 625, and the events described in A. M. 61 16 to the following two months. Zuckerman Constantin. Preface: Special Topic on Enhanced Sampling for Molecular Systems
This special topic highlights recent developments in enhanced sampling methods for molecular-level simulations of chemical and biological systems. These methods are designed to enable more efficient exploration of phase space and extend the time scales that can be explored by simulations
The long-wavelength view of GG Tau A: rocks in the ring world
We present the first detection of GG Tau A at centimetre wavelengths, made with the Arcminute Microkelvin Imager Large Array at a frequency of 16 GHz (λ = 1.8 cm). The source is detected at >6 σrms with an integrated flux density of S16GHz = 249 ± 45 µJy. We use these new centimetre-wave data, in conjunction with additional measurements compiled from the literature, to investigate the long-wavelength tail of the dust emission from this unusual protoplanetary system. We use an MCMC-based method to determine maximum likelihood parameters for a simple parametric spectral model and consider the opacity and mass of the dust contributing to the microwave emission. We derive a dust mass of Md ~ 0.1 Msun, constrain the dimensions of the emitting region and find that the opacity index at λ > 7 mm is less than unity, implying a contribution to the dust population from grains exceeding ~4 cm in size. We suggest that this indicates coagulation within the GG Tau A system has proceeded to the point where dust grains have grown to the size of small rocks with dimensions of a few centimetres. Considering the relatively young age of the GG Tau association in combination with the low derived disc mass, we suggest that this system may provide a useful test case for rapid core accretion planet formation models
