Che cosa vogliamo dalle immagini? [Recensione del libro "Alla fine delle cose. Contributi per una storia critica delle immagini"
Sui limiti di un “poema d’azione” cinematografico
As recently highlighted by Georges Didi-Huberman, much of the theoretical and artistic work of Pier Paolo Pasolini revolves around the problem of constructing a “great action poem” in which the main players are “the people” (English term that Didi-Huberman considers inadequate to express the political strength of the concept of popolo). But how do you restore the space and time of the actions of men and women living on the margins of progress within the space-time of the mise en scène of film?
The article highlights the centrality of the film "La Ricotta" (1962) within Pasolini’s work. A theoretical and self-critical film that underscores both the potential and the limits of Pasolini’s aesthetic project and invites us to reflect on the ethical and political issues involved

Estasi ed “efficacia simbolica” nella teoria del pathos di Sergej M. Ejzenštejn
This article focuses on the research conducted by Sergej Michajlovic Eisenstein on the artistic representations of ecstasy and their specific effect on the spectator. Relying on historical and philological reconstructions of Eisenstein’s theoretical writings, the article intends to examine an aspect of his pathos theory whose implications are yet to be analyzed in depth: the idea that the ecstasy of representation constitutes a tool capable of achieving maximum persuasiveness and efficacy but also an aesthetic and epistemic turning point, a moment of self-disclosure of compositional strategies that ensure the efficacy itself. Reading and comparing different passages of the Eisensteinian theory of ecstasy and considering the structural affinities and differences with the analysis of shamanic rituals conducted by the anthropologist Claude Lévi-Strauss, the article investigates the relationships between the representation of ecstasy in visual arts and the anthropological and semiotic phenomenon of “symbolic efficacy”
