Zimmet Suçu’nun Kooperatifler Kanunu ve Yardım Toplama Kanunu Özelinde Değerlendirilmesi
Bu çalışmanın konusunu kişinin, kamu görevlisi olup olmadığına bakılmaksızın belli malvarlığı değerlerini zimmetine geçirmesi halinde cezalandırılacağını düzenleyen Yardım Toplama Kanunu ve Kooperatifler Kanunu özelinde ‘’Zimmet’’ suçunun değerlendirilmesi oluşturmaktadır. Amaç, 5728 sayılı Kanun değişikliği sonrası oluşan yeni durumun ortaya konulmasıdır. Böylece Türk Ceza Adaleti Sisteminde zimmet suçu açısından bir değerlendirme yapılmış olacaktır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Zimmet Suçu, Yardım Toplama Kanunu, Kooperatifler Kanunu, Türk Ceza Adaleti Sistemi, Kamu Görevlisi. In Turkish Law, the Crime of Embezzlement is regulated by the Act on Cooperatives and the Act on Charitable Donations, in addition to the Criminal Code. Unlike the Latter, however, these two Acts do not depend on the condition that an embezzler should be public official. In order to be punished. The paper aims to assess the crime of embezzlement in view of the new situation arising from Act of amendment 5728, which is in all intents and purposes, an attempt to realign, it is argued, the Acts with the Criminal Justice System. Keywords: Crime of Embezzlement, Act on Charitable Donations, Act on Cooperatives, Criminal Justice System, Public Official.</p
Losing the war against obesity: the need for a developmental perspective
Developed countries are struggling to control epidemics of obesity and related chronic diseases; thus, we can expect only limited success from applying the current approaches to the developing world, which is experiencing an alarming increase in such disorders. This failure results in part from the fact that our focus on adult life-styles, although important, ignores data that suggest that biological and cultural factors operating early in life affect adult health status. To stem the rising obesity burden in developing countries, scientists and policy-makers must address obesity-promoting factors from early development to adulthood.<br/
Is proximity to a food retail store associated with diet and BMI in Glasgow, Scotland?

Background: Access to healthy food is often seen as a potentially important contributor to diet. Policy documents in many countries suggest that variations in access contribute to inequalities in diet and in health. Some studies, mostly in the USA, have found that proximity to food stores is associated with dietary patterns, body weight and socio-economic differences in diet and obesity, whilst others have found no such relationships. We aim to investigate whether proximity to food retail stores is associated with dietary patterns or Body Mass Index in Glasgow, a large city in the UK.

Methods: We mapped data from a 'Health and Well-Being Survey' (n = 991), and a list of food stores (n = 741) in Glasgow City, using ArcGIS, and undertook network analysis to find the distance from respondents' home addresses to the nearest fruit and vegetable store, small general store, and supermarket.

Results: We found few statistically significant associations between proximity to food retail outlets and diet or obesity, for unadjusted or adjusted models, or when stratifying by gender, car ownership or employment.

Conclusions: The findings suggest that in urban settings in the UK the distribution of retail food stores may not be a major influence on diet and weight, possibly because most urban residents have reasonable access to food stores.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
