Full text linkThe purpose of this study is to form and theoretically substantiate an institutional and organizational mechanism aimed at integrating international logistics practices into the management systems of industrial enterprises of Ukraine. The research methodology is based on a combination of systemic and interdisciplinary approaches using tools of comparative analysis, institutional approach, organizational diagnostics and structural and functional analysis. Method. The results obtained show that the effectiveness of the implementation of international logistics solutions is determined primarily by the degree of their consistency with the internal organizational parameters and institutional conditions of the enterprise's functioning, and not only by the level of technological perfection. The study proposes an improved methodological approach to the phased adaptation of logistics models, focused on taking into account the key parameters of institutional and organizational compatibility. The scientific novelty is the analysis of how international logistics practices can be integrated into the management structures of Ukrainian industrial companies, taking into account their specific business conditions and organizational characteristics. Logistics models are not considered as universal solutions with predetermined efficiency. Instead, the work forms a conceptual framework that links the results of the application of logistics practices with the internal parameters of companies, in particular the level of digital competence, organizational flexibility, the dominant management logic, the nature of corporate pressure and the behavioral characteristics of personnel. This approach allows us to shift the analytical emphasis from the formal implementation of tools to the conditions of their real functioning. The practical significance of the results lies in the possibility of using the proposed approach to increase the sustainability of supply chains, operational efficiency and competitiveness of industrial enterprises.Ця стаття зосереджена на розумінні можливостей змістовної інтеграції міжнародних логістичних практик у системи управління українських промислових підприємств, що працюють у складному полі інституційного та організаційного різноманіття. Акцент робиться не на механічному запозиченні успішних рішень, а на розумінні того, чому вони працюють в одних умовах і втрачають свою ефективність в інших. Дослідження базується на спостереженні, що логістичні моделі, які демонструють стабільно високі результати в розвинених економіках, не завжди забезпечують аналогічний ефект у національних контекстах з різними правилами, управлінськими традиціями та інституційними обмеженнями. Це спонукає до переосмислення самої логіки перенесення управлінських практик. Саме тому в статті пропонується альтернативний методологічний підхід, заснований на оцінці ступеня інституційної та організаційної сумісності між обраними логістичними моделями та конкретним управлінським середовищем підприємства. Такий підхід дозволяє перейти від формального впровадження до свідомої адаптації, за якої логістика розглядається не як універсальний інструмент, а як контекстно-залежний механізм управління. Методика дослідження - використовується інтегрований аналітичний дизайн, який поєднує порівняння логістичних принципів та структур різних країн з поглибленим інституційним та організаційним аналізом. Таке поєднання дозволяє не лише зафіксувати відмінності між національними моделями, але й зрозуміти логіку їх формування та функціонування. Методологічний інструментарій побудовано навколо концептуальної інтерпретації, аналізу структур управління та порівняльної оцінки логістичних практик, що використовуються на промислових підприємствах у Сполучених Штатах, окремих країнах Європейського Союзу та Південній Кореї. Вибір цих економік не є випадковим, оскільки вони представляють різні траєкторії інституційного розвитку та управлінської еволюції. Аналітичний фокус зміщується з формального порівняння технологічних рішень на виявлення глибших відмінностей – рівня цифрової готовності чутливості організації до змін, домінуючих управлінських процедур та характеру інституційного тиску. Особлива увага приділяється здатності працівників сприймати та підтримувати трансформації, що часто залишається поза межами традиційного бенчмаркінгу. Такий підхід дозволяє розглядати логістичні практики як соціально та організаційно вбудовані процеси, а не як ізольований набір технічних інструментів. Результати свідчать про те, що логістичні практики здатні формувати стійкий управлінський ефект лише за умови їх відповідності внутрішній логіці управління підприємством та інституційним рамкам, в яких приймаються управлінські рішення. Аналіз показує, що сама наявність сучасних логістичних інструментів не гарантує відчутних змін у показниках. Навпаки, вибіркове впровадження окремих логістичних елементів, якщо воно не супроводжується переглядом організаційних структур, ролей та процедур прийняття рішень, має лише обмежений операційний вплив. Це змушує нас по-іншому поглянути на природу логістичних трансформацій. На основі виявлених закономірностей у дослідженні пропонується орієнтована на сумісність основа адаптації міжнародних логістичних практик, яка передбачає їх поступову інтеграцію відповідно до рівня готовності як організаційних, так і інституційних підсистем підприємства. Такий підхід знижує ризик формального, але неефективного впровадження логістичних ініціатив. Водночас, він сприяє підвищенню стабільності ланцюгів поставок та посиленню управлінського контролю над логістичними процесами, що критично важливо в умовах постійної невизначеності. З практичної точки зору, запропонована структура служить орієнтиром для менеджерів не як шаблон для формального наслідування, а як керівництво для свідомого проектування логістичних стратегій на основі реальних управлінських та ресурсних можливостей організації. Вона дозволяє співвіднести стратегічні амбіції з фактичною готовністю підприємства до змін, що критично важливо в складному та мінливому середовищі. Використання такого підходу сприяє прийняттю більш обґрунтованих інвестиційних рішень, оскільки логістичні ініціативи оцінюються не лише за їхнім потенційним ефектом, а й за рівнем організаційної сумісності. У ширшому плані це підвищує стійкість підприємств до зовнішніх потрясінь та зменшує вразливість до збоїв у ланцюгах поставок. Водночас підтримується довгострокова конкурентоспроможність промислових підприємств, які змушені функціонувати в умовах економічної трансформації, інституційної невизначеності та зростаючої нестабільності глобальної логістики
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
