    Keperluan adanya kemahiran employability yang mantap dalam kalangan graduan merupakan satu kriteria yang penting untuk membolehkan mereka mendapat tempat di pasaran pekerjaan. Justeru itu, kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan untuk melihat samaada terdapat jurang atau tidak di antara elemen kemahiran employabiliti yang telah diintergrasikan semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran (pdp) dengan kemahiran employabiliti yang penting dan perlu dikuasai oleh graduan bidang elektrik berdasarkan perspektif graduan Kolej Komuniti dengan majikan di industri. Kajian tinjauan ini melibatkan seramai 103 majikan di industri dan 162 graduan bidang elektrik di Kolej Komuniti. Melalui analisis Ujian-T yang dijalankan, hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkanterdapat jurang yang signifikan di antara elemen kemahiran employabiliti iaitu kemahiran komunikasi, kemahiran pengurusan maklumat, kemahiran pengurusan diri, kemahiran etika dan moral profesional, kemahiran kepimpinan dan kemahiran berpasukan yang telah diintergrasikan semasa proses pdp dengan kemahiran tersebut yang penting dan perlu dikuasai oleh graduan bidang elektrik berdasarkan perspektif graduan Kolej Komuniti dengan majikan di industri. Oleh yang demikian, pensyarah-pensyarah di Kolej Komuniti haruslah bertindak dengan memainkan peranan penting serta bertanggungjawab di dalam memberi tumpuan serta mengintergrasikan ke semua kemahiran employabiliti yang dikenalpasti penting dan perlu dikuasai oleh graduan semasa sesi pdp dijalankan. Selain itu, penambahbaikan kurikulum yang melibatkan pihak industri serta komitmen pdp yang efektif dari pensyarah amat penting dalam mengatasi masalah jurang kemahiran yang merangkumi penguasaan kemahiran employabiliti dalam kalangan graduan Kolej Komuniti

    Developing instruments for employability skills measurement for trainee teachers in technical and vocational education field.

    The purpose of this research is to identify the key elements of an employability skill which is important and should be mastered by trainee teachers in the field of technical and vocational education. These research also can produce instruments to measure the employability skills for the trainee teachers. These instruments can also be used to identify the extent to which lecturers integrate the skills employability that is important in the student. Modified Delphi Techniques and Rasch model approach was used to examine the reliability, validity and suitability of individual items. The final instrument of employability skills measurement among trainees in technical and vocational education field has been verified which encompasses nine key elements of employability skills consists communication skills , critical and creative thinking, information management, teamwork and collaboration, self-management, professional ethics and morals, leadership, entrepreneurship and social skills and representing 81 skills items. Verily, all these elements of employability skills need to be mastered by graduates in order to produce highly qualified and competitive professionals teachers

Justeru itu, kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan untuk mengkaji dengan lebih mendalam perbandingan persepsi terhadap kepentingan elemen-elemen kemahiran teknikal dan kemahiran employability yang perlu dikuasai oleh graduan bidang elektrik di antara industri, pensyarah Kolej Komuniti dan graduan bidang elektrik di Kolej Komuniti. Kajian tinjauan ini melibatkan seramai 103 majikan di industri, 197 pensyarah kolej Komuniti dalam bidang elektrik dan 162 graduan kursus elektrik di Kolej Komuniti. Melalui analisis Ujian-Anova yang dijalankan, kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat perbandingan yang signifikan bagi persepsi terhadap kepentingan ke semua elemen-elemen kemahiran teknikal iaitu kemahiran asas, kemahiran mereka bentuk, kemahiran pemasangan, kemahiran pengujian dan kemahiran penyelenggaraan yang perlu dikuasai oleh graduan kursus elektrik di Kolej Komuniti di antara majikan di industri, graduan dan pensyarah Kolej Komuniti. Manakala dari segi persepsi terhadap kepentingan elemen kemahiran employability, kajian turut menunjukkan bahawa terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan bagi persepsi terhadap kepentingan elemen kemahiran employabiliti iaitu kemahiran pengurusan maklumat, kemahiran pengurusan diri, kemahiran etika dan moral serta kemahiran keusahawanan yang perlu dikuasai oleh graduan bidang elektrik di Kolej Komuniti di antara majikan di industri, graduan dan pensyarah Kolej Komuniti. Namun begitu, bagi elemen kemahiran employabiliti iaitu kemahiran komunikasi, kemahiran berfikir secara kreatif dan kritis, kemahiran berpasukan dan bekerjasama serta kemahiran kepimpinan, didapati bahawa tidak terdapat perbezaan persepsi yang signifikan terhadap kepentingan elemen kemahiran tersebut di antara majikan di industri, graduan dan pensyarah di Kolej Komuniti. Oleh yang demikian, pihak Jabatan Pendidikan Kolej Komuniti (JPKK) perlulah sentiasa berhubung dan menjalinkan kerjasama dengan industri agar membolehkan pelbagai pengkongsian ilmu diperolehi bagi memudahkan pihak JPKK dapat mengenal pasti keperluan kemahiran-kemahiran serta teknologi terkini di industri dan ini boleh diterapkan dalam kalangan graduan Kolej Komuniti melalui penambahbaikan kurikulum yang sedia

    Fenomena masalah pengangguran di kalangan graduan bukan isu baru. Malah, ia juga melibatkan graduan yang memegang ijazah pendidikan. Oleh itu, kajian ini dijalankan untuk menentukan indikator kemahiran employability yang diperlukan oleh graduan pendidikan terutamanya dari bidang pendidikan teknikal dan vokasional di Malaysia. Kajian ini dijalankan secara kualitatif melalui temu bual dalam kalangan lima panel pakar yang berpengalaman dalam bidang pendidikan teknikal dan vokasional. Responden adalah antara mereka yang mempunyai pengalaman mengajar dan bekerja dalam bidang pendidikan teknikal dan vokasional. Hasil Keputusan kajian menunjukkan terdapat sembilan indikator kemahiran employability yang perlu dikuasai oleh graduan pendidikan khasnya dalam bidang pendidikan teknikal dan vokasional. Indikator-indikator ini adalah kemahiran komunikasi, kemahiran pemikiran kreatif dan kritikal, kemahiran pengurusan maklumat, kemahiran pengurusan kendiri, kerja berpasukan dan kemahiran kerjasama, kemahiran kepimpinan, etika dan profesionalisme moral, kemahiran keusahawanan dan kemahiran sosial. Penguasaan kemahiran employability ini dianggap penting untuk menghasilkan guru dengan profesional yang berkelayakan dan kompetitif

    The increase in unemployment issue among graduates mismatch between skills and job are the main concerns of various people including the graduates themselves, parents, lecturers and curriculum developer. Therefore, this research is conducted to determine the matching between the fields of study with the current job and at the same time to determine the technical and employability skills which are important to be mastered among the graduates of Electrical Engineering in College Community. This research used the Modified Delphi Technique which involved seven experts and a survey on 103 employers in the electric and electronic industry, 162 graduates and 197 lecturers from Community College. Findings of the study reveal that the majority of electrical engineering graduates work in the field that match to their field of study. However, there are also graduates working in the field that does not match with their study field at the Community College. In addition, the findings also show that there are five main and important elements of technical skills that need to be mastered by graduates, which are basic skills, designing, installation, testing, and maintenance skills. As for employability skills, there are eight main and important elements of employability skills that need to be mastered by graduates, which are the skills of communication, creative and critical thinking, information management, teamwork and cooperation, self-management, professional ethics and morality, leadership and entrepreneurship. The findings suggest that improving the curriculum by including information from the industry as well as providing effective and committed teaching and learning activities by the lecturers are crucial in order to address the lack of technical and employability skills issue among graduates of Community College

    A strong technical skills and employability skills among graduates is an important criterion to allow them a place in the job market. Therefore, this study aimed to examine more closely if there is a comparison of the perception of the importance of the elements of technical skills and Employability skills to be mastered by graduate electrical field between industry, Community College lecturers and graduates of the electric field at Community Colleges.The study involved 103 employers in the industry, 197 Community College lecturers in the field of electricity and 162 Community College electric course graduates. From the analysis of Anova-test, the findings indicated that there is a significant different among employers in the industry, Community College graduates and lecturers on the perception of the importance to all technical skills elements such as the basic skills, skills of designing, skill assembly, skills testing and maintenance skills to be mastered by the electric course graduates at the  Community College. While in terms of the perception of the importance of the element of employability skill, the results showed that there is a significant difference among employers in the industry, graduates and lecturers at the Community College on the perception of the importance of the element of Employability skill such as information management skills, self-management skills, skills, ethics and morality as well as entrepreneurial skills to be mastered by graduates of the electric course at the Community College. However, the element of skill employability namely communication skills, thinking skills, creative and critical thinking skills and team work and leadership skills, were found with no significant difference on the importance of elements such skills among employers in the industry, graduates and lecturers at the College Community. Therefore, the Department of Education of Community Colleges (JPKK) must always communicate and collaborate with industries in order to allow various sharing of knowledge acquired to facilitate the JPKK can identify the needs the of skills and the latest technology in the industry to be applied among the graduates of the College Community by improving existing curriculum.</jats:p

    AbstractThe increasing rate of unemployed graduates is one of the issues that triggers world's concerns lately. Consequently, this research aims to investigate factors that lead to the unemployment problem among Malaysian graduates from three aspects, which are graduates’ attributes, lecturers’ competency and quality of education. This qualitative research adopted an interview method, which was conducted to seven respondents who have the experience in teaching and working in the industry. The majority of the respondents agreed that the graduates’ attributes, lecturers’ competency and the quality of education, which is referred to the curriculum of a study field, are among the factors that contribute to the unemployment problem among the Malaysian graduates nowadays. Therefore, it is reasonable for the parties who are involved in the construction and the enhancement of the curriculum of the related to the field of study to conduct an in-depth study. This should be done in order to identify the problems that occur throughout the implementation of the study area. It is important to evaluate the suitability of the implementation of a curriculum of the study area in order to ensure the implemented curriculum can produce human resources, which are qualified, skilful and can fulfil the need of the industries and the current market

    Possession of 'Ketum' is no strangers and this offence is increasing year by year. Criminals prefer to use 'Ketum' from dangerous drugs because 'Ketum' is easy to find and the price is cheaper than other dangerous drugs. Furthermore, the sentences of possession of 'Ketum' is lower than sentences to other dangerous drugs because 'Ketum' is considered as poison and listed under Poisons Act 1952; not under Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Heroin is one of the example under dangerous drugs which have same effect with 'Ketum' but it is listed under Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Hence, the offender will may repeat committing the crime because the sentence is lower and inadequate to give lessons to the offender. This research to analyses about the adequacy of Poisons Act 1952 in regulating possession of 'Ketum' and other relevant statutes that can be used to regulate possession of 'Ketum' comparing with other countries such as Thailand. End of this chapter, the author will show that, Poisons Act 1952 is inadequate in regulating possession of 'Ketum' offences
