On the role of O. P. Pavlovsky’s spelling system in the history of evolution of the modern Ukrainian language

    No full text
Стаття присвячена відомому мовознавцю XIX ст., досліднику української мови, автору «Грамматики малороссійскаго нарѣчія» Олексію Павловичу Павловському. Наголошено на виключній ролі його праці як першої спроби систематизації правопису української розмовної мови, що базувалася на фонетичному принципі. Проаналізовано та розкрито власницькі знаки примірників «Грамматики» О. П. Павловського, що зберігаються у фонді Наукової біб ліотеки Одеського національного університету імені І. І. Мечникова.The problems of evolution of the modern Ukrainian literary language as well as of linguistic normalization are relevant in modern linguistics. The article is devoted to a famous linguist of the 19th century, researcher of the Ukrainian language, author of Grammar book of Little Russian Dialect Oleksiy Pavlovich Pavlovsky (c. 1770/1773 – after 1826). His work is of exceptional importance being the first attempt to systematize the spelling of the Ukrainian colloquial language, which was based on the phonetic principle. The article analyzes and discloses the ownership marks of copies of Grammar book by O. P. Pavlovsky, stored in the Scientific Library of the Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University. The author managed to trace a copy of Grammar book (1818) that entered the library holdings of the Richelieu Lyceum (predecessor of the Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University – until 1865) and three copies of an offset print. Two of the latter belonged to Professor Artemiy Amvrosiyovych Moskalenko and Associate Professor Fyodor Pavlovich Smaglenko, well-known Odessa linguists of the 20th century who kept Grammar book in their personal book collections and used it for their scientific research. Grammar book of the Little Russian dialect by O. P. Pavlovsky opened a new page in the history of Ukrainian linguistics. Despite certain shortcomings, for a long time it had been the only thorough manual that contained the basics of Grammar and spelling of the modern Ukrainian language. It was O. P. Pavlovsky’s work that laid the foundations for the formation of Ukrainian Grammar books and contributed to the development of the written Ukrainian literary language

The impact of a young radio galaxy: clues from the cosmic ray electron population

    Get PDF
In the framework of hierarchical structure formation, active galactic nuclei (AGN) feedback shapes the galaxy luminosity function. Low luminosity, galaxy-scale double radio sources are ideal targets to investigate the interplay between AGN feedback and star formation. We use Very Large Array and BIMA millimetre-wave array observations to study the radio continuum emission of NGC 3801 between 1.4 and 112.4 GHz. We find a prominent spectral break at ~10 GHz, where the spectrum steepens as expected from cosmic ray electron (CRe) ageing. Using the equipartition magnetic field and fitting JP models locally, we create a spatially resolved map of the spectral age of the CRe population. The spectral age of τint = 2.0 ± 0.2 Myr agrees within a factor of 2 with the dynamical age of the expanding X-ray emitting shells. The spectral age varies only little across the lobes, requiring an effective mixing process of the CRe such as a convective backflow of magnetized plasma. The jet termination points have a slightly younger CRe spectral age, hinting at in situ CRe re-acceleration. Our findings support the scenario where the supersonically expanding radio lobes heat the interstellar medium (ISM) of NGC 3801 via shock waves, and, as their energy is comparable to the energy of the ISM, are clearly able to influence the galaxy's further evolution

The dissertation defines the methodological foundations for the study of e-commerce in the network economy, namely: the content and stages of 9 institutionalization of the network society as an e-commerce environment are revealed; e-commerce is conceptualized by defining its essence, structure, and stages of development. The paper describes in detail the informal and formal rules of e-commerce functioning and systematizes the current factors of the development of e-commerce institutions. Based on the analysis of the world experience of formalizing the rules of e-commerce and identifying the peculiarities of the development of Ukrainian e-commerce in modern conditions, the author proposes directions for improving the national model of e-commerce aimed at restoring the Ukrainian economy

The role of PIK3CA mutations in the development of breast cancer (a literature review)

    Get PDF
Today, breast cancer occupies a leading position in the structure of morbidity and mortality among women in Ukraineand and throughout the world. Late diagnosis of the disease adversely affects the prognosis. Since this pathology is characterized by a wide range of gene mutations, the relationship between the molecular genetic characteristics of a tumor and the prognostic and clinical characteristics of breast cancer is an extremely important issue. The PI3K/Akt signaling cascade is one of the key intracellular signaling pathways associated with the control of cell proliferation and regulation of potential oncogene protein kinase B/Akt functions. It can suppress apoptosis in different types of cancer, contributing to tumor cells survival. Also, mutations and amplification of the PI3K/Akt cascade components cause malignant cell transformation of various origin. The PIK3CA gene is one of the oncogenes, somatic mutations in which play an important role in the pathogenesis and progression of breast cancer. It encodes p110-α, the catalytic subunit of phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase-α. The most frequent mutation in PIK3CA gene is H1047R. Conclusions. Numerous studies have shown that PIK3CA gene mutations in breast cancer patients have the potential to become a clinically important biomarker for improving the disease diagnosis and developing individualized targeted therapy. In this literature review we discuss the molecular mechanisms of PI3K signaling cascade activation and the role of PIK3CA mutations in the development of breast cancer
