Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) malus Basha, Yousef, Ibrahim & Mostafa Typhlodromus malus Basha, Yousef, Ibrahim & Mostafa, in Basha et al., 2001: 382. Previous records from Egypt. Ismailia governorate (Basha et al., 2001). Remarks. No additional specimens of this species were found in this study. It was originally described from the holotype female, three paratype females and six paratype males collected in Kassasin, Ismailia governorate, Egypt. The original description was rather detailed, with illustrations and setal measurements.Published as part of Abo-Shnaf, Reham I. ICT in Manufacturing: Trends and Challenges for 2020 – an European View
Agitated by the financial crisis in 2008 and occupied by the national debt debate since 2010, European companies need to take actions to recover from lost opportunities during the last years. The manufacturing sector still plays a major role in the European economy and is seen as a vital sector for the successful future of a common Europe. Acclaiming success in the private sector on a regularly basis, ICT has been identified as a key driver with a high potential to enhance European manufacturing industry in a sustainable way. The paper presents an approach of deriving new research priorities in Europe for the Horizon 2020 agenda. Based on agile roadmapping methodology, six ICT core areas for investments in research projects have been identified
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Book Review: Three Cases of Mass-Scale Data Sharing
This book review explores “Data Sharing: Recent Progress and Remaining Challenges” by co-editors Drs. Yousef Ibrahim Daradkeh and Petr Mikhailovich Korolev. The reviewer finds the three chapters by different authoring teams insightful in their respective fields
Blocking online advertising - a state of the art
Online advertising has emerged as one of the major business models on the Internet. Publishers rely on the online revenue generated from advertising to offer many free services. However it has become evident that online advertisements are now becoming quite intrusive and also consume a lot of valuable bandwidth to download zero-caching ads and flash or video ads. The main contribution of this paper is as follows; it attempts to identify the main reasons why internet users want to block online ads, it also critically evaluates several existing ad-blocking techniques and conducts an experiment to measure the amount of bandwidth used by online advertisements relative to the actual content. Near the end of the paper a brief discussion on probable future researches open a vast new region to be explored
A state of the art opinion mining and its application domains
This paper critically evaluates existing work, presents an opinion mining framework and exposes new areas of research in opinion mining. Individuals, businesses and government can now easily know the general opinion prevailing on a product, company or public policy. At the core of this field is semantic orientation of subjective terms in documents or reviews which seeks to establish their contextual connotation through opinion mining. Overall item sentiment can be expressed based on its sentiment words in general or by specifically identifying its features and the opinions being expressed about them. This leads us to the motivation of the framework for opinion mining and categorizing current literature in such a manner as to make clear, research opportunities. The freedom offered by the web as a platform for presenting opinions on any subject brings with it many new opportunities
