Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Full text linkWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

No full text학위논문 (석사)-- 서울대학교 대학원 : 법학과, 2017. 2. 정상조.본 논문에서는 출원 단계에서의 기술이전 중 하나인 출원 단계에서의 현물출자에 대해서 고찰하였다. 현물출자의 각종 사례, 외국 입법례, 우리나라 관련 법률을 살펴보았으며, 이를 기초로 주요 쟁점을 검토하였다.
본 논문에서는, 첫째, 기술이전촉진법 제2조 제1호 가목 및 제23조의 해석상 출원이 현물출자 가능하다는 것을 검토하였다. 다만, 벤처기업육성법, 외국인투자촉진법 및 공간정보산업진흥법에서는 특허권을 현물출자의 대상으로 명시적으로 규정한데 반해서, 현물출자 대상에 출원은 포함시키지 않고 있다. 출원 단계의 지식재산권도 현물출자의 대상이 될 수 있음을 관련 법률에서 명시적으로 규정하는 것이 바람직하다고 생각한다.
둘째, 출원과 달리, 출원의 실시권의 현물출자 가능에 대해서는, 관련 법률 어디에도 명시적으로 규정하지 않고 있다. 따라서 상법의 현물출자에 따라서 출자하는 것만이 가능하다. 다양한 주체로부터, 특허권 등록 이전 단계인 출원 단계에서의 기술이전을 통한 기술확보에까지 주목을 하고 있는 현실을 반영하여, 아직까지 아무도 관심을 갖지 않고 있는 출원의 전용실시권 또는 출원의 통상실시권이 현물출자의 대상이 될 수 있음을 관련 법률에서 명시적으로 규정하는 것이 바람직하다고 생각한다. 즉, 기술이전촉진법, 벤처기업육성법, 외국인투자촉진법 및 공간정보산업진흥법 등에 명시적으로 현물출자의 목적대상물을 출원, 출원의 실시권(출원에 관한 사용권)까지로 명확히 확인하는 동시에, 기술이전촉진법, 벤처기업육성법, 외국인투자촉진법 및 공간정보산업진흥법 간의 현물출자 목적물 상의 서로 다른 부분을 통일화 내지 정합화하는 작업이 필요하다고 생각한다. 또한, 해당 법률에서 사용하는 용어의 문제점에 대해서 다루었다. 나아가, 거래의 안전과 법적 안정성을 위하여, 특허법 등의 지식재산권 법률에서 출원의 가전용실시권 및 가통상실시권 제도의 도입을 제안하였다. 이를 통해서, 출원인의 파산이나 출원인에 의한 양도 등으로 권리 주체가 변경되더라도 가전용실시권 또는 가통상실시권의 등록을 통해서 새로운 권리 주체에 대해서 대항하는 것이 가능하게 된다. 또한, 출원의 실시권의 현물출자에 대해서는, 5천만 이하인 경우라도 검사인의 조사를 면제하는 대상에서 제외하여, 가장 납입 위험을 제거하는 것이 바람직하다고 생각한다.
셋째, 가장납입으로 볼 여지가 있는 출원의 현물출자의 예를 여러 가지 상정해 보았다. 이 경우의 납입의 효력과 납입가장죄에 해당하는지에 대해서도 검토하였다.
