Quo Vadis, Belis Masyarakat Sikka Maumere
Talking about the belis, which is studied from the word alone, it means that belis is a dowry with the size of payment, and usually depends on bargaining. Adat or lasim are called rules that have existed and been carried out since time immemorial in ways and customs which are used as a from of cultural ideas which consist of cultural values, norms, laws and rules which are related to one another into one system. The study of thoughts about Quoa Vadis Belis brings us to one thing that deserves a deeper study where you or we go and find out what belis means according to Sikka Maumere. The main problem examined in this study is how to calculate Belis and how it impacts society in changing the life of socio-cultural economy. The objectives of this research are; first to know the concept of belis, second; integrity and economics, third is how the perspective of the older and younger generations in placing belis in the Sikka Maumere community. The method used in this research descriptive qualitative research. Techniques and data analysis are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The result of the research show that belis in the Sikka Maumere community is not only entrenched but also an integral part or all the parts that need to be a complete and perfect complement to a socio-economic and cultural approach pattern

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
SENI TENUN IKAT DAN ARTIKULASI PEREMPUAN SIKKA FLORES TENGAH, 1960-2008 KAJIAN SEJARAH BUDAYA
The study discussed about the tie-dying weafing art and the
articulation of Sikka women of Central Flores in 1960-2008 in a
historical cultural study. The background of the study was the lack of
scientific study of the tie-dying weaving art and Sikka women. It used
historical method in answering main study problems.
The main subject of the thesis was the actualization of the
development and the change in the tie-dying weaving art of Sikka that
have contributed to the effort of the local women in making social
changes. At the beginning the tie-dying weaving art served as the symbol
of the local cultural identity of three-in-one (Tri Tunggal) in which the tiedying
weaving art and the local women have enriched the perspective of
the tie-dying weaving art of Sikka.
Sikka women had their own artistic sense that was articulated in
the tie-dying weaving art with its new artistic elements as the
actualization of the artistic sense of the local women. The local tie-dying
weaving art has been considered as the integral part of national arts as
clearly observed in the decoration styles reflected in the local cultural
identity.
The causal factors of the change consisted of internal and external
ones. The first resulted from the policital condition at the beginning of
Indonesian independence era that subsequently caused economic, social,
cultural, religious and artistic life of the members of the local culture.
The second resulted in the new culture without any ignorance of the
original local culture.
The change in the tie-dying weaving art and the articulation of
Sikka women of Central Flores was studied in the effort to preserve and
to develop the attitude of global thinking, but local action
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Objek Wisata Pemandian Air Panas (Wair Gahu) Blidit Sebagai Daya Tarik Wisata Alam
The aims of this study are: 1) To find out the early history of the emergence of Blidit hot springs. 2) To find out the condition of tourist facilities in the Blidit hot spring tourist attraction. 3) To find out the public's view on the potential utilization of the Blidit hot spring tourist attraction. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The results showed that: the early history of the emergence of Blidit hot springs was first found by the Blidit people who wanted to go hunting in the forest and one of them stepped on the water and felt the water was hot but they thought the water came from Mount Egon because Mount Egon is a mountain fiery. The water emerged from the ground through cracked soil and it is said that at that time there was a person named gahu which means heat was cut and his body was stored in the water and at that time also in the bathing place there was a guard and when he wanted to visit that place he had to many people and keep things in that place such as roko, money and betel nut when in that place, visitors should not utter harsh words. The condition of tourist facilities for tourist attractions, Blidit hot spring baths, is classified as not good. Judging from the condition or state of the hot springs, there are still very few facilities and are not cared for and kept clean where visitors still use private vehicles and access roads that still use paths that are still in the form of soil and rocks
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
