I first saw a wall-full of this series at Kyobo Book in Seoul in July, '04. I bought one copy, came home, and worked to order the full set of thirty booklets, workbooks, and audio cassettes from the publisher. Each set cost 9,800 Won. I have divided that cost among the book (6800 Won), booklet (1000 Won), and cassette (2000 Won). The colored booklet features twenty-eight thick, sturdy pages and excellent color reproduction. The art is cartoon-like, simple, and direct. This version, as is common in this series, fills in the motivations and reflections that might characterize the chief actors. This bird is not only trapped; he is also hurt. The farmer not only frees him; he nurses him back to full health. The farmer's neighbors advise him either to eat the bird or to sell him. This telling of the story raises questions. Why would the eagle, who has had no trouble talking to the farmer before, not tell him now that the wall is about to collapse? And is eagle intelligence such that it would, in the natural world as well as the fable world, perceive a wall about to fall and would construct a purposeful sequence like the hat-snatch-and-drop? Han-Joong does a good job with giving the eagle an expressive face. If you are kind to someone, he will someday repay you. This book has a dust jacket (book cover)Language note: EnglishRetold by Kang Yoon-Chun

Monolithic fabrication of electroplated solenoid inductors using three-dimensional photolithography of a thick photoresist
A novel and high-yield fabrication process has been devised for monolithic integration of solenoid inductors. In order to simplify the fabrication steps, we decompose the solenoid inductor into two parts, bottom conductor lines and air bridges. The air bridge is formed as a single body during a single electroplating step. This single-step fabrication of the air bridges is possible by forming a three-dimensional (3D) photoresist mold using multiple exposures with varying exposure depths, followed by a single development step, which realizes the 3D latent image of the unexposed volume in the photoresist. We have successfully fabricated solenoid inductors with and without a magnetic core using this process. This process is easy and simple, so that one can significantly improve the fabrication yield over that achieved by conventional methods. Also, this process has good compatibility with the integrated circuit (IC) process owing to a low process temperature (< 120 degrees C) and the monolithic feature
Piezoelectric characteristics of PVA/DL-alanine polycrystals in d33 mode
Summary: In this study, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-mixed DL-alanine (PVA/DL-alanine) polycrystals are fabricated, and their piezoelectric characteristics in the d33 mode are investigated. The d33 piezoelectric coefficients of the PVA/DL-alanine polycrystals are found to increase with an increase in the weight ratio of DL-alanine, and the PVA/DL-alanine polycrystal composed of PVA and DL-alanine in a weight ratio of 1:3 exhibits a d33 of ∼5 pC/N. The piezoelectric characteristics of the PVA/DL-alanine polycrystals are discussed in terms of the crystal structure by employing scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analyses. To confirm the piezoelectric performance of the polycrystals, the piezoelectric voltages of a piezoelectric device composed of a single layer of ZnO thin film and heterostructured devices consisting of a layer of PVA/DL-alanine polycrystal and a ZnO thin film layer are measured and compared. This study presents PVA/DL-alanine polycrystals as a potential piezoelectric material for bio-friendly piezoelectric-device applications
