Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. ,[ii, 57p :]평형모양은 표면에너지를 최소화할때의 모양이다. 일반적으로, 평형모양은 평면과 부드러운 곡면으로 이루어져있다. 본 연구에서는 첨가제 Nb2O5, Nd2O3의 농도에 따른 BaTiO3의 평형모양을 관찰하였다. 각 첨가제를 비율에 맞게 BaTiO3를 혼합한 후 공기중, 1250도에서 50시간동안 열처리 하였다. 주사전자현미경과 투과전자현미경을 통해 입자의 평형모양을 관찰하였고, 3차원 시뮬레이션을 진행하였다. 각 면의 에너지가 중점에서부터의 거리에 비래한다는 Wulff theorem을 이용하여, 각각의 면에 대한 상대적 표면에너지를 측정하였다.
도핑되지 않은 BaTiO3의 평형모양은 {100}면으로 이루어 졌으며 모서리가 둥근 육면체였다. Ti/Ba의 비가 1 이상이거나 Nb을 도핑하였을 때나 {100}, {111}, {210} 평면이 추가로 나타났으며, Ti-excess양 또는 도핑한 Nb의 농도가 0.3 at.% 이상일때 {411}면이 평형모양에 나타났다. Ti의 양이 Ba보다 많은 경우와 Nb을 도핑한 경우에는 평형모양의 모서리가 날카로웠다. 이 두 경우에서 평형모양은 서로 유사하였으나 농도에 따른 상대적인 표면에너지의 변화는 차이를 보였다. 반면 Nd을 도핑한 경우는 {100}면 이외의 평면이 발견되지 않았으며 모서리 또한 곡면으로 이루어져있었다. 이러한 결과는 B-site 도펀트인 Nb을 첨가한 경우 평형모양은 날카로운 모서리와 여러 평면으로 구성되는 반면 A-site 도펀트인 Nd을 첨가한 경우의 입자는 {100}면과 둥근모서리로 이루어짐을 보여준다. 하지만 치환자리와는 무관하게 첨가제의 농도가 증가할 수록 평형모양은 더 많은 평면으로 이루어지며, 표면에너지의 이방성은 낮아졌다.한국과학기술원 :신소재공학과

No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
