Anahtar Kelimeler:Hilminiyaz Kadiri Boz Yigit Destanı Ses Bilgisi Şekil Bilgisi DizinTurkish, which is widely spoken throughout the world, has been divided into dialects and accents by showing some phonological and morphological changes as a result of various economical and cultural developments. Up to now, many studies have been produced in the field of Uygur Turkish which was shaped according to Hakaniye accent of Turkish language. Apart from enlightening the characteristics of Uygur Turkish, we aim at introducing “Boz Yigit Destanı”, which is an important epic having been published in Modern Uygur Turkish by Hilminiyaz Kadiri, by comparing and contrasting the epic according to the phonology and morphology of Uygur Turkish and Türkiye Turkish. In the text part of the study, the transcription of the work “Boz Yigit Destanı” written in Arab alphabet has been made. The analysis part of the studyconstitutes of phonology and morphology parts. In the phonology part, the words in Uygur Turkish and Türkiye Turkish have been compared and contrasted. In the morphology part, the words have been examined after being classified as nouns, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs, verbs and prepositions. In index part, nouns and verbs have been arranged with their appendixes according to some rules. The sources benefited from throughout the study are stated under the heading of bibliography. Key Words: Hilminiyaz Kadiri Boz Yigit Destanı Phonolog Morphology Inde

Internal wave coupling processes in Earth's atmosphere

    No full text
This paper presents a contemporary review of vertical coupling in the atmosphere and ionosphere system induced by internal waves of lower atmospheric origin. Atmospheric waves are primarily generated by meteorological processes, possess a broad range of spatial and temporal scales, and can propagate to the upper atmosphere. A brief summary of internal wave theory is given, focusing on gravity waves, solar tides, planetary Rossby and Kelvin waves. Observations of wave signatures in the upper atmosphere, their relationship with the direct propagation of waves into the upper atmosphere, dynamical and thermal impacts as well as concepts, approaches, and numerical modeling techniques are outlined. Recent progress in studies of sudden stratospheric warming and upper atmospheric variability are discussed in the context of wave-induced vertical coupling between the lower and upper atmosphere. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    No full text
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Fusion of thermal- and visible-band video for abandoned object detection

    No full text
Timely detection of packages that are left unattended in public spaces is a security concern, and rapid detection is important for prevention of potential threats. Because constant surveillance of such places is challenging and labor intensive, automated abandoned-object-detection systems aiding operators have started to be widely used. In many studies, stationary objects, such as people sitting on a bench, are also detected as suspicious objects due to abandoned items being defined as items newly added to the scene and remained stationary for a predefined time. Therefore, any stationary object results in an alarm causing a high number of false alarms. These false alarms could be prevented by classifying suspicious items as living and nonliving objects. In this study, a system for abandoned object detection that aids operators surveilling indoor environments such as airports, railway or metro stations, is proposed. By analysis of information from a thermal-and visible-band camera, people and the objects left behind can be detected and discriminated as living and nonliving, reducing the false-alarm rate. Experiments demonstrate that using data obtained from a thermal camera in addition to a visible-band camera also increases the true detection rate of abandoned objects. (C) 2011 SPIE and IS&T. Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
