Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. PENDETEKSI DAN VERIFIKASI TANDA TANGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE IMAGE DOMAIN SPASIAL
Tanda tangan merupakan salah satu ciri dari setiap orang. Tanda tangan banyak digunakan sebagai syarat untuk mengesahkan dokumen-dokumen legal. Hal itu menjadi bermasalah jika suatu transaksi bermasalah atau gagal karena adanya pemalsuan tanda tangan, tentu saja hal tersebut sangat merugikan, sehingga sangat penting untuk melakukan verifikasi tanda tangan. Salah satu cara untuk dapat mengidentifikasi kecocokan tanda tangan yaitu dengan memanfaatkan webcamera dan teknik pengolahan citra. Untuk mendapatkan identifikasi kecocokan tanda tangan tersebut digunakan metode Sum Squared Error (SSE) dengan mencari nilai kuadrat selisih error dari data sampel dan data uji. Objek yang merupakan tanda tangan di capture kemudian dirubah menjadi citra biner yang akan dihitung jumlah nilai piksel hitamnya. Jumlah nilai piksel hitam ini yang akan digunakan untuk mencari rentang SSE sebagai acuan untuk mengidentifikasi tanda tangan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam pencahayaan dan waktu yang berbeda. Hasil dari proses ini akan menyatakan cocok atau tidak cocok suatu tanda tangan. Hal yang mempengaruhi dalam sistem ini adalah pencahayaan yang berubah-ubah sehingga menghasilkan nilai hitam yang berbeda juga. Dari hasil uji yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa SSE dapat mengenali tanda tangan dengan ketepatan 96% pada data sampel. Kata kunci : Tanda Tangan, SSE, Webcam, Bine
PERANCANGAN SISTEM PENDETEKSI KEBAKARAN RUMAH PENDUDUK PADA DAERAH PERKOTAAN BERBASIS MIKROKONTROLER
Daerah perkotaan memiliki perumahan yang padat penduduk sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan masalah apabila terjadi kebakaran. Kebakaran ini dapat disebabkan oleh faktor kelalaian manusia dan faktor alam. Permasalahan yang sering terjadi adalah saat kebakaran terjadi, satuan pemadam kebakaran sering datang terlambat, sehingga kerugian akibat kebakaran terbut menjadi lebih besar. Oleh karena itu diperlukan sebuah sistem yang bekerja secara otomatis ketika kebakaran itu terjadi. Pada penelitian inisistem yang dirancang adalah sistem pendeteksi kebakaran yang bekerja secara realtimedan sekaligus mengetahui lokasi kebakaran terjadi. Sistem ini menggunakan sensor suhu (LM35) dan sensor asap (MQ-9) berbasis mikrokontroler untuk mengukur suhu dan asap kebakaran. Data yang diterima dari kedua sensor akan dikirimkan ke server menggunakan modul wifi (ESP8266).Sistem ini memanfaatkan aplikasi mobile danweb sebagai interface untuk memberikan informasi lokasi kebakaran kepada satuan pemadam kebakaran terdekat dengan menampilkannya pada Google Maps. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat error pembacaan sensor suhu sebesar 1,48% dan sensor asap sebesar 4,85%. Modul mampu terkoneksi ke internet dengan stabil pada jarak 10 m. Sistem pendeteksi kebakaran ini mampu bekerja secara realtime, menampilkan notifikasi pada aplikasi mobile dan web pada saat bersamaan dengan data yang diterima dan menampilkan rute menuju lokasi pada Google Maps

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
IMPLEMENTASI WEB CAMERA SEBAGAI VISUAL INSPECTION OTOMATIS UNTUK PROSES PEMUTUAN UKURAN DAN TINGKAT KEMATANGAN BUAH TOMAT
Quality and sorting is one method to classify an observed object and the end result of the inspection process. Quality and sorting can be done manually or automatically where quality and one manually sorting can be done by utilizing the human senses. Quality automatically requires certain tools such as the use of digital cameras to replace the sensory function of the human eye as a visual inspection. By using a digital camera, the camera capture object images obtained is processed via image processing, the processing system can be used as an automated visual inspection for the decision making process quality and sorting. The ability to recognize objects in the form of camera pixel component, can be used to determine the size and color, while the components can be used to determine the level of maturity. This system implemented as automatic visual inspection to determine quality tomato fruit size and maturity level. Results of testing this system is able to recognize 100% ripe tomatoes and 73% were able to recognize the young tomato fruit, the overall ability of the system to recognize the maturity level of the tomato fruit was 86.15%. While the tomatoes quality test based on class size with large, medium and small work 100%. Recognize the success rate of fruit maturity is greatly influenced by the current lighting objects tomatoes in camera capture. We hope this research can be used as input data for the next stage as the data input to the system pemutuan and automatically sorting tomatoes
