The Journey from Drug Addiction to Drug Withdrawal
Objectives
The purpose of this study was to describe 30 people’s testimonies of their journeys from drug addiction to drug withdrawal in Taiwan. World Drug Report estimates the number of opioid users at 53 million, up 56 % from previous estimates, and that opioids are responsible for two thirds of the 585,000 people who died as a result of drug use in 2017.
Methods
This was a qualitative research design. The sample inclusion criteria: 1. Participants had drug abused experiences. 2. Participants received Christian Gospel Drug Withdraw Program. 3. Participants did their testimonies in the Good TV True Blog. There were 30 participants’ testimonies related to their drug withdrawn by gospel interventions during 2012-2020. These stories were posted on the Good TV channel in Chinese language in Taiwan that were written down by the author and translated from Chinese to English. The main themes were generated in this study.
Results
There were 24 male (80%) and 6 Female (20%) in this study. The mean age was 50.93 (SD = 10.47) (Range = 26-65). The major themes were (1) Using illegal drugs: Lack of knowledge and temptations (2) Drug addiction: An endless pain circle (3) Turning points: Love and Hope (4) Drug withdraw: Overcome the Temptations and Holy Spirit (5) Outcome: Faith and New Life. These 30 participants drug withdrew successfully, became Christians and started their new lives as well as helped other people quit drug and any other addiction.
Discussion
These are powerful testimonies to support that the gospel drug withdrawal programs and church activities are effective to help people drug withdrawal. These programs can be used in the Mental Health Nursing professions. Early education related to the negative impact of illegal drugs in the school is very important to prevent people’s drug addiction

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Chapter 14: Jaundice

The Influences of Spiritual Well-being and Parenting Styles on USA Nursing Students’ Psychological Well-being and Suicidal Ideation
Objectives
The purpose of this study was to examine the influences of spiritual well-being and parenting styles on USA nursing students’ psychological well-being and suicidal ideation.
Methods
This was a cross sectional, descriptive research design. The structured questionnaires were used to do the data collection. There were 404 nursing students were recruited from a Midwest University in the USA. The mean age was 24.53 (SD = 6.14). There were 53 Male (13.1%) and 351 Female (86.9%). The SPSS 28th version was used to do the data analysis. The descriptive data analysis, Pearson Correlation, and Step-wise Multiple Regressions were used to solve the research questions.
Results
Total score of spiritual well-being, faith/belief, life and self-responsibility, and life satisfaction/ self- actualization had statistically significant positive relationships with nursing students’ psychological well- being. Total score of spiritual well-being, faith/belief, life and self-responsibility, and life satisfaction/ self- actualization had statistically significant reverse relationships with nursing students’ suicidal ideation. Their
parents’ rearing attitude: child monitor, inductive reasoning, communication, positive reinforcement, involvement, and the total scores of positive rearing attitude had statistically significant positive relationships with nursing students’ psychological well-being. Their parents’ rearing attitude: communication, positive reinforcement, and the total scores of positive rearing attitude had statistically significant reverse relationships with nursing students’ suicide ideation. Their parents’ harsh discipline and the total scores of negative rearing attitude had statistically significant positive relationships with nursing students’ suicide ideation.
Discussion
In this study, life satisfaction/self-actualization, life/self-responsibility, positive reinforcement, and faith/belief were the significant predictors of nursing students’ psychological well-being. Total scores of spiritual well-being and positive reinforcement were significant predictors of nursing students’ suicidal ideation. Higher score of total scores of spiritual well-being and positive reinforcement were found to predict decreasing nursing students’ suicidal ideation
Factors influencing family caregiver burden in the hospital in USA
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine the relationships among patients\u27 ADL dependence, symptoms, family support, quality of patient-family caregiver relationship, psychological well-being, caregiving knowledge and burden of family caregivers for patients with cancer or chronic illness. Subjects: There were 110 family caregivers recruited from medical and surgical units of one Midwest Medical Centers. The mean age of family caregivers was 54.02 years. The majority of caregivers were wife, daughter and husband. The mean age of patients was 64.68 years. The top four symptoms that patients had were fatigue, pain, loss of appetite, and weight loss. Methods: A multivariate descriptive design was used to describe the relationships among care receiver dependency, caregiver factors, family support, and family caregiver burden. Data were collected using structured questionnaires. Information on patients\u27 ADLs and symptoms were obtained from family caregiver report. Results: The findings indicated that there were significant positive relationships between family caregiver burden and the following variables: family caregiver age, patients\u27 symptoms and ADL dependency, and lack of family support. There were significant negative relationships between family caregiver burden and the following variables: psychological well-being, quality of relationship and caregiving knowledge. In Multiple Regression, the model variables accounted for 33% of the variance in family caregiver burden. Patients\u27 symptoms, caregiving knowledge, and lack of family support are significant predictors of family caregiver burden. In Multiple Regression, the model variables accounted for 42% of the variance in perception of caregiver burden. Lack of family support and quality of relationship are significant predictors of perception of caregiver burden. Conclusion: It is vital for nurses to assess family caregivers\u27 needs and resources and the quality of the patient-family caregiver relationship, and nursing education in developing a plan of care that reduces family caregiver burden
