Gated relational stacked denoising autoencoder with localized author embedding for global citation recommendation

    No full text
Citation recommendation is an effective and efficient way to facilitate authors finding desired references. This paper presents a novel neural network based model, called gated relational probabilistic stacked denoising autoencoder with localized author (GRSLA) embedding, for global citation recommendation task. Our model is comprised of two modules with different neural network architecture. For each citing and cited papers, we use a gated paper embedding module, which is extended from probabilistic stacked denoising autoencoder (PSDAE) by adding gated units, to obtain their paper vectors. The added gated units are able to utilize text information of cited paper to refine the vector representation of citing paper in multiple semantic levels. For an author in papers, we first apply topic model to obtain his/her semantic neighbors, and then use a localized author embedding (LAE) module to excavate author vector representation from semantic and explicit neighbors. Unlike most graph convolutional network (GCN) based methods, the LAE module is able to avoid computing global Laplacian in whole graph by taking limited neighbors. Moreover, the LAE module can also be stacked to absorb more neighbors, which makes our model have high extendibility. Based on the generation process of GRSLA, we also derive a learning algorithm of our model by maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimation. We conduct experiments on the AAN, DBLP and CORD-19 datasets, and the results show that GRSLA model works well than previous global citation recommendation methods

Differential measurements of W and Z bosons, and Drell-Yan

    No full text
Measurements of Drell-Yan and W/Z-boson production in association with jets are an important test of electroweak and perturbative QCD predictions. Differential cross sections for Z-boson production, Z-boson production in association with jets and W-boson + a charm quark are presented from ATLAS and CMS. The data are compared to theoretical predictions provided by various Monte Carlo event generators

Nowe spojrzenie na planowanie architektury mieszkaniowej w afryce subsaharyjskiej

The author shares his reflections on state of art in housing and urban planning, deficiencies, expectations and possibilities in the Sahel region of Africa. He notices, that the housing problem in Africa is one of the challenges, which should be solved in order to recover life dignity of African people and secure their rights to traditional family life in acceptable conditions. The paper describes the studies on the typical dispersed urban structures and the need to foster this type of settlement structure and proposals of introduction of new on light steel frame housing system in the area of Sahel, combining the traditional way of building houses with modern technology. The particularly analysed case, is the housing problem in the Republic of Chad. The author presents the basic discussion on this topic and his architectural proposals. Unfortunately, the gap between the needs and the financial feasibility of housing construction in this area, makes this project already at the starting point extremely difficult to be realized without external subventions.

Microstructures and strengthening mechanisms of Cu/Ni/W nanolayered composites

    No full text
Cu/Ni/W nanolayered composites with individual layer thickness ranging from 5nm to 300nm were prepared by a magnetron sputtering system. Microstructures and strength of the nanolayered composites were investigated by using the nanoindentation method combined with theoretical analysis. Microstructure characterization revealed that the Cu/Ni/W composite consists of a typical Cu/Ni coherent interface and Cu/W and Ni/W incoherent interfaces. Cu/Ni/W composites have an ultrahigh strength and a large strengthening ability compared with bi-constituent Cu–X(X¼Ni, W, Au, Ag, Cr, Nb, etc.) nanolayered composites. Summarizing the present results and those reported in the literature, we systematically analyze the origin of the ultrahigh strength and its length scale dependence by taking into account the constituent layer properties, layer scales and heterogeneous layer/layer interface characteristics, including lattice and modulus mismatch as well as interface structure
