On The Second Order Statistics Of η-μ Fading Channels In Diversity Systems

    No full text
In this paper, general exact expressions for the level crossing rate and average fade duration of pure selection combining (PSC), equal-gain combining (EGC), and maximalratio combining (MRC) receivers operating on independent nonidentically distributed η-μ fading channels are derived. The analytical results are fully validated by reducing them to particular cases for which the solutions are known and, more generally, by means of Monte Carlo simulation. As will be observed from the graphics, MRC technique yields the best performance followed by EGC and PSC ones. © 2007 IEEE.799803Nakagami, M., The m-distribution - A general formula of intensity distribution of rapid fading (1960) Statistical Methods in Radio Wave Propagation, , W. A Simple And Accurate α-μ Approximation To Crossing Rates In Egc And Mrc Receivers Undergoing Nakagami-m Fading

    No full text
In this paper, using an approach based on moment estimators, we propose highly accurate closed-form approximations for the level crossing rate of multibranch equal-gain and maximal-ratio combiners operating on independent non-identically distributed Nakagami-m fading channels. As the exact solutions, for both combiners, are given in terms of multifold integrals, our approximate results provide more ef.ciency of the computational point of view, mainly when the number of diversity branches increases. Some numerical plots are depicted and a very good agreement is ascertained between the analytical and approximate curves. © 2007 IEEE.795798Jakes, W.C., (1974) Microwave Mobile Communications, , New York: WileyBrennan, D.G., Linear diversity combining techniques (1959) In IRE, 47, pp. 1075-1102. , JunFraidenraich, G., Santos Filho, J.C.S., Yacoub, M.D., Second-order statistics of maximal-ratio and equal-gain combining in Hoyt fading (2005) IEEE Commun. A Multi-Language Comparison of Influences on Author Verification using Character N-Grams

    No full text
We create a new multi-language corpus for author verification based on Wikipedia talkpages, and evaluate the influence that differences in topic and time have on character n-gram author profiles. Topic alignment between two texts is found to increase author verification precision, and an authors writing style is found to change over time, but not more significantly after 3 years than after 1 year.Information ArchitectureWISElectrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Scienc
