Buğday tarımında geleneksel ve azaltılmış toprak işleme sistemlerinin yabancı ot varlığı üzerine etkisinin belirlenmesi
Çalışmada buğday üretiminde yöre tarafından kabul gören kulaklı pulluk ile işlenen geleneksel toprak işleme sistemi (GTİ) ve buna alternatif olarak rototiller ile işlenmiş azaltılmış toprak işleme sistemi-I (ATİ-I) ve çizel ile işlenmiş azaltılmış toprak işleme sistemi-II (ATİ-II) ele alınmıştır. Ele alınmış olan bu sistemlerin toprağın fiziksel özellikleri, buğdayın bazı bitkisel özellikleri ve yabancı ot varlığı üzerine olan etkisi incelenmiştir. Deneme alanı toprağı killi-tınlı özelliğe sahip olup, tarla trafiği öncesi hacim ağırlığı toprak işleme sistemleri bakılmaksızın 1,33-1,62 g/cm3 aralığında değişirken, toprak işleme uygulandıktan sonra hacim ağırlığı 1,22-1,54 g/cm3 aralığına düşmüştür. Buğday filiz çıkışları ekimden sonra 49. güne kadar tamamlandığı belirlenmiştir. En yüksek bitki çıkış oranı ATİ-II' de 570 adet/m2, ardından ATİ-I uygulamasında 363 adet/m2 ve en düşük değer GTİ 330 adet/m2 olarak belirlenmiştir. Bitki boyları arasındaki yapılan analizde farkın istatiksel olarak önemsiz olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Deneme parsellerinde tespit edilen ve bölgede yaygın olan, yabani papatya (Matricaria camomilla), adi yavşan otu (Veronica hederifolia L.), çoban çantası (Capsella bursa-pastoris L.), kazgagası (Corydalis bulbosa L.), yapışkan otu (Galium aparine) ve yabani marul (Lactuca Serriola L.) gibi yabancı otlar tespit edilmiştir. Yabancı ot bakımından ele alınmış olan toprak işleme sistemleri değerlendirildiğinde, sırasıyla ATİ-II' de 75,33 adet/m2, ATİ-I'de 57,33 adet/m2 ve GTİ'de 25,33 adet/m2 olduğu belirlenmiştir. En yüksek dane verimi ATİ-II'de 142 kg/da bulunmuş, 135 kg/da ile ATİ-I ve 128 kg/da ile GTİ izlemiştir. En yüksek hasat indeksi ATİ-I (%14,51) uygulamasında belirlenmiş olup, sırasıyla ATİ-II (%8,53) ve GTİ (%7,45) izlemiştir.In this study, the conventional tillage system (GTI) recognized by the region, which involves using the plough with moldboard as the primary tool for wheat production, is examined alongside the alternative reduced tillage system-I (ATI-I) implemented with rototiller, and reduced tillage system-II (ATI-II) implemented with chisel. The effects of these systems on soil physical properties, certain plant characteristics of wheat, and the presence of weeds have been investigated. The experiment area soil has a clay-loam texture, and its bulk density before tillage operations range from 1,33 to 1,62 g/cm³, regardless of soil tillage systems. After tillage operations, the bulk density decreases to a range of 1,22 to 1,54 g/cm³. Wheat seedling emergence is determined to be completed by the 49 day after sowing. The highest plant emergence rate is observed in ATI-II with 570 plants/m², followed by ATI-I with 363 plants/m², and the lowest value is found in the GTI with 330 plants/m². Analysis of plant heights showed statistically insignificant differences among the tillage systems. Common weeds in the region, including Matricaria chamomilla (wild chamomile), Veronica hederifolia L. (ivy-leaved speedwell), Capsella bursa-pastoris L. (shepherd's purse), Corydalis bulbosa L. (bulbous corydalis), Galium aparine (cleavers), and Lactuca serriola L. (prickly lettuce), were identified in the experiment parcels. When evaluating weed presence across the soil tillage systems, ATI-II had the highest weed density at 75,33 plants/m², followed by ATI-I with 57,33 plants/m², and the GTI with 25,33 plants/m². The highest grain yield was achieved in ATI-II at 142 kg/da, followed by ATI-I at 135 kg/da, and the GTI at 128 kg/da. The highest harvest index was recorded in ATI-I (14,51%), followed by ATI-II (8,53%) and GTI (7,45%). In conclusion, the study evaluates the effect of different soil tillage systems on soil properties, wheat growth, and weed density, providing insights into their effects on agricultural sustainability and productivity

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Determination of Quality Parameters of Pellets Obtained from Sugar BeetAgricultural Waste Based on Experimental Data
Drought is one of the most significant natural disasters, causing severe negative impacts on agriculture,water resources, and ecosystems. Strategies for disaster risk reduction, agricultural planning, and watermanagement all depend on early and precise drought prediction. Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI)data from Kayseri province for the years January 1948–December 2023 were used in this study toanticipate drought. Model training was conducted using data from January 1948 to March 2007, and thetest dataset was defined as the time frame from April 2007 to December 2023. PDSI values from timelags t-1, t-2, t-3, and t-4 were used as input variables, and the drought level at time t was chosen as theoutput variable. Support Vector Regression and Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) algorithms wereused for the prediction of the PDSI. Tunable Q-Factor Wavelet Transform (TQWT) and VariationalMode Decomposition (VMD) were employed as preprocessing techniques to develop hybrid models.The Coefficient of Determination (R2), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Root Mean Square Error(RMSE) metrics were used to assess the four developed hybrid models’ performance. Based on theevaluations conducted on the test data, the TQWT-GPR model demonstrated the best performanceamong the four developed hybrid models. The TQWT-GPR model was able to predict PDSI values withperformance values of MAE = 0.061, RMSE = 0.075, and R2 = 0.999. The results indicate that the GPRmodel exhibited greater compatibility with the applied preprocessing techniques. For furtherimprovement in forecasting performance, particularly in MAE and MSE, the integration of advancedtechniques such as reinforcement learning is recommended.Keywords: Palmer Drought Severity Index, Machine Learning, Prediction, Türkiye.</p
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
