The Features of Cheng-Zhu scholars in mid-Ming Dynasty
No full text在翻閱中國思想史或哲學史相關著作時，可以發現明代之學術亦往往直被代換為「明代心學」，著重討論王陽明及其後學的思想內涵。這樣看來，大盛於宋代的程朱之學似乎在明代消失了。然而，明代中期陽明學發展正當方興未艾時，程朱學者一方面針對陽明之理論進行論難和批評，一方面亦反省朱子學理論中的問題並加以修正。分析這群學者在傳統的理氣心性諸問題和朱、王學之間的異同處，並因而呈現出屬於此時代論學特色之所在，便是本論文寫作的出發點。
第一章〈緒論〉對本論文的研究動機、題目範圍、前人研究成果、研究方法、論文架構，以及寫作限制作一說明，作為論文寫作之前提工作。第二章〈明代中期以前的學術風潮〉則約略介紹明代中期以前的學術思潮，以指出研究對象之學術背景。
第三至六章分別介紹汪俊、崔銑、何瑭、黃佐這四位明代中期程朱學者及其思想。此四章為本論文之主要內容，架構上基本相同：首先，各章之開始先簡單介紹學者的生平活動以及相關著作，以對學者有一定程度之了解。接著分析學者的理氣論和心性論，藉由分析此兩議題，並於相關處進行和朱、王甚至其他學者的比較，以明此時期學者論學之特色。
第七章〈羅欽順和王廷相的思想〉則在介紹明代中期最重要的兩位程朱學者。關於此兩人之研究，學界已有豐碩成果，所以此處只對其思想做概略式介紹和整理，以及指出其學術性格的趨向，用以說明兩人之所以為明代中期程朱學之大家，並推論明代中期程朱學者論學的趨勢。
第八章〈結論〉旨在統整全文。首先，根據前述各章的分析內容，討論學者彼此間理論的共同傾向和個別差異，並和朱子、陽明、以及當代程朱學者羅欽順、王廷相進行理論上的整體比較，以總結明代中期程朱學者的學術特色。最後，則指出明代程朱學者的地位，如對程朱學的繼承、與王學的激盪、對氣學的承先啟後等，以說明明代中期程朱學者的學術定位
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
