Cyber-EDA: Estimation of Distribution Algorithms with Adaptive Memory Programming
[[abstract]]The estimation of distribution algorithm (EDA) aims to explicitly model the probability distribution of the quality solutions to the underlying problem. By iterative filtering for quality solution from competing ones, the probability model eventually approximates the distribution of global optimum solutions. In contrast to classic evolutionary algorithms (EAs), EDA framework is flexible and is able to handle inter variable dependence, which usually imposes difficulties on classic EAs. The success of EDA relies on effective and efficient building of the probability model. This paper facilitates EDA from the adaptive memory programming (AMP) domain which has developed several improved forms of EAs using the Cyber-EA framework. The experimental result on benchmark TSP instances supports our anticipation that the AMP strategies can enhance the performance of classic EDA by deriving a better approximation for the true distribution of the target solutions.[[note]]SC

Cell-free system for assembly of transcriptionally repressed chromatin from Drosophila Embryos
We descrtbe a cell·free system, derlved (rom preblastoderm DrosophÜIJ embryos. ror tbe efficient assembly of eloned DNA into chromatin. Tbe cbromatin assembly system ulilizes cndogcDous eure histones aod assembly racton aod yields loog arrays of regularly spaced nucleosomes with a repeat Icngtb of ISO bp. Tbc 8nembly system is also eapable of C1lmplementary-strand DNA syotbesis accompanied by rapid nucleosome formation wben tbe startiog template is single-stranded circl!lar DNA. Tone and Tone Sandhi in Yuhuan Wu Chinese.
This thesis describes tone and tone sandhi theoretically, and it reports empirical research on the tonal phonologies of two newly available speakers of Yuhuan Wu Chinese, compared to the speaker reported by Gussenhoven and Wang (2014). Tones, perceived as pitch (and phonation), form phonologically autosegmental tonemes. The two new speakers had tonal phonologies similar to the first speaker, while demonstrating interspeaker variation in the way they phonetically enhance the HL-MHL-contrast. Tone sandhi is the process of environmentally induced tonal alternations, which for all three speakers of Yuhuan Wu patterned right-dominant, with the exception of HL in syllables with sonorant onsets
