Shimmy in a nonlinear model of an aircraft nose landing gear with non-zero rake angle
This work concentrates on the lateral oscillations in vehicles, also called shimmy, with a particular emphasis on aircraft. A mathematical model of a nose landing gear is discussed with geometric detail that has been mostly neglected in the past research. Stability criteria for the shimmy-free operation of the landing gear are derived using linear stability analysis. Nonlinear analysis is used not only to study the qualitative behaviour of the Hopf bifurcation but also to analyze the system beyond the Hopf bifurcation. The manuscript concludes with suggestions for future research
Ouch That Hurt! A Visual EP and Documentary
This culminating experience project consisted of a visual and collaborative Extended Play (referred to as “EP” henceforth) and a documentary of the process of creating a visual EP in its entirety. The most important part of the author’s culminating experience was a finished EP of three original songs. The author created visuals for each song, using a variety of different sources learned during her time at Berklee. The EP featured all original music written by the author and was a collaboration between instrumentalists, recording engineers, mixing and mastering engineers from Berklee. Additionally, each song featured a different analog or digital emulation synthesizer in order to expand the author\u27s knowledge of music technology and of music history in the synth pop genre. The author chose to do an EP for her culminating experience project in order to expand her personal artistry, continue working on her songwriting, production and engineering, learn about new synthesizers, and to capture the entire process in an educational documentary in order to show how an EP is created from start to finish.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-production-technology/1270/thumbnail.jp

Inter rater reliability of recovery capital: Assessment of a clinician rated measure
This study investigated the inter rater reliability for the Clinician Recovery Capital Measure as a tool to assess recovery capital for clients with alcohol and other drug problems. The sample consisted of 15 women (M = 40.07 years, SD = 10.79 years) and 6 men (M = 47.83 years, SD = 13.57 years), who had at least a three year degree or equivalent in a relevant field plus professional/practical experience with mental health clients. Assessment of inter rater reliability required participants to code standardised case notes using the Clinician Recovery Capital Measure. Data were analysed for total recovery capital as well as the subcategories of social, human, cultural and physical capital. Use of the Intra Class Correlation Coefficient (ICC) demonstrated excellent levels of inter rater reliability for total recovery capital ICC = 0.909, social capital ICC = 0.884, human capital ICC = 0.775, cultural capital ICC = 0.857, and physical capital ICC = 0.975. These ICC results demonstrate that the Clinician Recovery Capital Measure can be reliably coded by a range of mental health practioners in an Australian clinical context. This study is an important step in the development of the clinician recovery capital measure and the process of operationalising recovery.

Understanding the anion-templated, OSDA-free, interzeolite conversion synthesis of high silica zeolite ZK-5

Wright).High silica zeolite ZK-5 (framework Si/Al=4.8) has been prepared by interzeolite conversion from ultrastable zeolite Y via a co-templating route using alkali metal cations and nitrate anions but without organic structure directing agents. The mechanism, which involves zeolite framework – alkali metal cation – nitrate anion ordering, has been established by a combination of chemical and thermal analyses, Raman spectroscopy, computational modelling, and X-ray powder diffraction. Ammonium exchange gives ZK-5 with occluded ammonium nitrate and subsequent heating gives microporous zeolite ZK-5.Peer reviewe
A critical and empirical analysis of the national-local ‘gap’ in public responses to large-scale energy infrastructures

The final version is available from Taylor & Francis (Routledge) via the DOI in this recordA national-local ‘gap’ is often used as the starting point for analyses of public responses to large scale energy infrastructures. We critique three assumptions found in that literature: the public's positive attitudes, without further examining other type of perceptions at a national level; that local perceptions are best examined through a siting rather than place-based approach; that a gap exists between national and local responses, despite a non-correspondence in how these are examined. Survey research conducted at national and local levels about electricity transmission lines in the UK confirm these criticisms. Results do not support a gap between national and local levels; instead, both differences and similarities were found. Results show the value of adopting a place-based approach and the role of surveys to inform policy making are discussed.This research was supported by the Research Council of Norway (SusGrid Grant No. 207774) and

Identification and stage-specific association with the translational apparatus of TbZFP3, a CCCH protein that promotes trypanosome life-cycle development
The post-transcriptional control of gene expression is becoming increasingly important in the understanding of regulated events in eukaryotic cells. The parasitic kinetoplastids have a unique reliance on such processes, because their genome is organized into polycistronic transcription units in which adjacent genes are not coordinately regulated. Indeed, the number of RNA-binding proteins predicted to be encoded in the genome of kinetoplastids is unusually large, invoking the presence of unique RNA regulators dedicated to gene expression in these evolutionarily ancient organisms. Here, we report that a small CCCH zinc finger protein, TbZFP3, enhances development between life-cycle stages in Trypanosoma brucei. Moreover, we demonstrate that this protein interacts both with the translational machinery and with other small CCCH proteins previously implicated in trypanosome developmental control. Antibodies to this protein also co-immunoprecipitate EP procyclin mRNA and encode the major surface antigen of insect forms of T. brucei. Strikingly, although TbZFP3 is constitutively expressed, it exhibits developmentally regulated association with polyribosomes, and mutational analysis demonstrates that this association is essential for the expression of phenotype. TbZFP3 is therefore a novel regulator of developmental events in kinetoplastids that acts at the level of the post-transcriptional control of gene expression
EP - Kyan Palmer
abstract: "EP \u2014 Kyan Palmer" is a compilation of three songs, "Hit List," "Queen Cobra," and "Burn Mona Lisa" all written and recorded by Barrett student, Kyan Palmer. The project explores the process involved in creating recorded music and exposes the vulnerability and self-reflection in writing a song. The following depicts the thought process that came about in the creation of each song from the lyrics, to the vocals, to the production. This paper depicts a journal-like writing style outlining the various events that took place while creating EP \u2014 Kyan Palmer. The bulk of this Thesis/Creative Project was the written, produced, and recorded music attached in the appendix. With that said, the following document is intended to be reflective rather than scholarly and acts as an accompaniment to the audio recordings and video entries
