Teaching and Learning' held in Dublin in February 2004.
Although progression always has been at the centre of any
methodology of teaching and learning foreign language, there has
been surprisingly little published on the concept of progression.
Since the inclusion of the pragmatic and socio-cultural context into
foreign language teaching methodologies, the concept of progression
has broadened considerably: it is no longer restricted any more to
structural elements of the foreign language (Le. grammar) but it
includes a functional-notional progression, a cultural progression,a
lexical progression, a progression of text types,a mental progression,
a progression of exercises and classroom activities. The articles in this
volume address the multifaceted nature of progression in foreign
language teaching and learning from various angle

No full textIn het Manifest Nederlands op school uit 2016 werd gesteld dat het schoolvak Nederlands saai zou zijn en dat er te weinig aandacht is voor vakinhoudelijke kennis. In het debat dat hierna ontstond werden deze stellingen in twijfel getrokken. Voor Simone Prinsen, Theo Witte en Cor Suhre was dit aanleiding om een empirische bijdrage te leveren aan de discussie, met behulp van vragenlijsten onder bovenbouwleerlingen en een analyse van drie veelgebruikte leergangen. Het slechte imago van het schoolvak blijkt realiteit, en er zijn duidelijke aanwijzingen dat de leerlingen in de bovenbouw bij Nederlands weinig vakinhoudelijke kennis kunnen opdoen. Om de belangstelling van leerlingen voor taal, communicatie en cultuur aan te wakkeren, zou Nederlands meer het karakter van een zaakvak moeten krijgen

Synchronization Overhead in SOC Compressed Test
No full textTest data compression is an enabling technology for low-cost test. Compression schemes however, require communication between the system under test and the automated test equipment. This communication, referred to in this paper as synchronization overhead, may hinder the effective deployment of this new test technology for core-based systems-on-a-chip. This paper analyzes the sources of synchronization overhead and discusses the different trade-offs, such as area overhead, test time and automatic test equipment extensions. A novel scalable and programmable on-chip distribution architecture is proposed, which addresses the synchronization overhead problem and facilitates the use of low cost testers for manufacturing test. The design of the proposed architecture is introduced in a generic framework, and the implementation issues (including the test controller and test set preparation) have been considered for a particular case
