Does OO sync with the way we think?

No full text
Given that corrective-maintenance costs already dominate the software life cycle and look set to increase significantly, reliability in the form of reducing such costs should be the most important software improvement goal. Yet the results are not promising when we review recent corrective-maintenance data for big systems in general and for OO in particular-possibly because of mismatches between the OO paradigm and how we think

Data Preprocessing-Based Comparative Study on Decision Tree Induction Algorithm

No full text
Data preprocessing is an important step in theknowledge discover process and quality decisionssuch as, real-world data which tend to beincomplete, noisy and inconsistent data. The systemuses the discretization and concept hierarchygeneration, that transforms the numeric data tocategorical values in the data preprocessingtechniques. Moreover, this paper addresses thespeed and scalability issues by proposing a dataclassification method which attributes selectionmeasure and the induction of decision tree.Myanmar is a country that its’ economy is based onagriculture. Crop production plays an importantrole in the session of agriculture. So, this systemprovides business application areas for cropinformation. This system compares decision treegeneration time and the accuracy of the datapreprocessing with and without preprocessing data

Web-based Decision Support System with Group Buying using Analytic Hierarchy Process

No full text
In electronic market places, group buying is seen as an effective form of electronic commerce. When buyers cooperate with each other, a seller can discount the price of a good. In existing group buying sites, each buyer preference may not be reflected effectively. This system implements a decision support system (DSS) for group buying based on buyer’s preferences. DSS is an interactive system that provides the user with easy access to decision models and data in order to support semi-structure and/or unstructured decision making task. This system is intended to develop a computerized system for some functions of house trading. The aim of this paper is to develop the web-based decisions support system for house selection using Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP). The AHP appears to be a flexible decision making tool for multi-criteria problems such as selection of the best house

Classification of Medical Diagnosis by using Naive Bayesian Classifier

No full text
Classification is a form of data analysis that can be used to extract models describing import data class or to predict future data trends. This paper contains two important aspects of pattern recognition that classification problem and evaluate the performance are studied on real-world datasets. This system is to study the Naive Bayesian classifier and to classify the class label of two datasets. In this system, classifier is built on the training dataset and test the unknown dataset on the testing dataset. And then, calculate the accuracy of classifier by using the hold-out method. Before the classifier is built, missing value is filled by using mean value and feature value is normalized by using min-max normalization such as preprocessing step. The experiment is performed on two medical datasets from University of California, Irvine (UCI) machine learning database and General Hospital in Mandalay

Routine surveillance of influenza A virus was conducted in Myanmar during 2014-2015. Influenza A(H9N2) virus was isolated in Shan State, upper Myanmar. Whole-genome sequencing showed that H9N2 virus from Myanmar was closely related to H9N2 virus of clade 4.2.5 from China

Implementing and Validating Evolvability Metrics: An Aspect-Oriented Approach

No full text
In the process of developing software andfulfilling to the current trends, every modularizedconcern needs Extensibility, Changeability,Design Stability and Sustainability. Our studyimplements the software metrics to measure theevolution of aspect-oriented systems and thequalities of extensible, changeable, design stableand sustainable features are focused as the subcharacteristicsof Evolvability. The proposedmetrics: Extensibility Quality Measurement(EQM), Changeability Quality Measurement(CQM), Design Stability Quality Measurement(DSQM) and Sustainability QualityMeasurement (SQM) are aimed to measure thequalities aspect-oriented (AO) software that areimplemented in AspectJ and other aspectorientedprogramming (AOP) languages. Thestatistical analysis of these software qualityfactors is based on MobileMedia andHealthWatcher, AspectJ projects. To prove theusefulness of the proposed metrics, it is validatedempirically by using Self-Organizing Map (SOM) algorithm and theoretically by usingExtension of Briand’s OO metrics Framework

Investigation on Structural and Optical Properties of Al doped SnO2 Thin Films on glass Substrate by Sol-gel Method

No full text
Abstract Pure SnO2 and Al (2 mol%, 4 mol%, 6 mol%) doped SnO2 thin film on glass substrate were successfully fabricated by using the spin coating technique. The samples were annealed at 500ºC for 1 hr. The film structures were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD). From the XRD analysis, lattice parameters, unit cell volume and crystallite sizes of the samples are calculated. According to the x-ray diffraction spectra, the samples were formed with tetragonal structure and preferred orientation alone (110) plane. Furthermore, the XRD data, dislocation density of the samples are also calculated. The surface morphology was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). From the UV-visible spectrum, absorption coefficient and the band gap energy of the samples are evaluated

Identification of Dengue Serotypes in Children with Dengue Infection at Yangon Children's Hospital in 2015

No full text
Dengue is the most important arthropod-borne viral infection of humans. Allfour dengue virus serotypes (DENV1-DENV4) were circulating in Myanmar and DENV-1 was the most frequently isolated one starting in 2001. To identify dengue serotype, a total of 234 paired serum samples were collected from patients with clinically suspected dengue infection attending Medical Wards of Yangon Children’s Hospital from January to July 2015. The convalescent serum samples (S2) were tested by Immunochromatographic tests. The proportion of serologically confirmed cases was 76% (178 out of 234). Out of these, 178 seropositive cases, 46(26%) were diagnosed as primary and 132(74%) as secondary dengueinfection.</p
