A Mobile Mediation Tool for Enhancing Interaction between Depressed Person and Caregiver
Abstractepression, a common mental health disorder, significantly affects an individual’s ability to live a regular life. Excessive reassurance-seeking behavior, i.e. a common interper¬sonal characteristic of depression, often leads to negative interaction betw¬ee-n caregivers and depressed individuals, who seek excessive assurance from the caregiv-ers at inappropriate times e.g. when caregivers are busy. Such negative interaction results in elevated feeling of burden in care-giving and care-receiving. However, maintaining a good relationship between depressed individuals and caregivers is crucial in overcoming difficulties time during depression. Therefore, this work proposes a mobile care mediation tool that helps improve communication in care-giving and care-receiving between depressed individuals and caregivers. By sharing the mood and availability status of givers and receivers of care, the proposed mobile care mediation tool enhances satisfaction of their relationship, and reduces burdens in care-giving.Contentcknowledgment ibstract iii要 vontent viiist of Figures ixist of Tables xihapter 1 Introduction 1hapter 2 Related Work 7hapter 3 Design Considerations 11.1 Collecting situated mood/availability data 11.2 Engaging 12.3 Easy to operate 12.4 Information glanceability 13.5 Timestamp update 13.6 Sensing 14.7 Suggestion 14hapter 4 Implementation and Evaluation (ESM tool) 17.1 Implementation 18.1.1 Questionnaires design on ESM tool 18.1.2 Logging activity sensing data 19.1.3 Simple version of world visiting game 20.1.4 Paper-based ESM 21.2 Evaluation 21.2.1 User study design 21.2.2 Results 23.2.3 Discussion 27hapter 5 Architecture and Implementation (Mobile care mediation tool) 31.1 Architecture 31.1.1 Mobile database 32.1.2 Input 33.1.3 Decision agent 33.1.4 Output 34.2 UI design and implementation details 34.2.1 CareMe display 36.2.2 Sharing mood and availability 36.2.3 Suggestion notifications 37.2.4 Sharing photos 38hapter 6 Evaluation (Mobile care mediation tool) 41.1 User study design 41.2 Results 44hapter 7 Discussion 49hapter 8 Conclusion and Future Work 53ibliography 5

Banks’ lending behaviour under repressed financial regulatory environment
Purpose
Regulatory authorities in Myanmar are increasing banks’ independence in providing loans to facilitate better financial resource allocations. On the other hand, not only in the USA but also among European countries, policymakers are designing regulations that could reduce banks’ autonomies in risk management and decrease risk taking behaviour. These governments have made policy interventions in their banking sectors which could be identified as repressive policies. They are commonly justified as macro-prudential regulations rather than financial repression. However, the authors are yet to understand as to what extent regulations need to be tightened or loosened up to reach optimal risk-taking behaviour. Using Myanmar as an example where the extreme form of governmental interventions and prudential regulations exists, this paper aims to identify the effectiveness of such policies.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper relies on a case study of the Myanmar’s Banking Sector. The paper adopts of the synthesis of institutional theory and Oliver’s strategic response to identify how banks respond to repressive financial policies. The empirical evidence is collected through conducting 16 interviews including banks’ general managers, deputy chairmen and loan officers. Afterwards, the authors analysed the data using categorical thematic analysis with the assistance of NVIVO.
Findings
First of all, the extent to which repressive financial measures enforced on banks differ depending on their political affiliations and ownership structures. Second, though repressive policies were enforced on banks to curb risk taking behaviour among banks and maintain financial stability, Myanmar banks themselves had inherent nature of risk aversion towards lending. Third, in Myanmar, financial repression does not always mean banks need to compromise their efficiency in profit maximisation to achieve legitimacy from the regulatory authorities. If the formal constraints were not in line with economic actors’ internal objectives, a different set of rules of the game were formed.
Originality/value
This paper provides new evidences for the controversial subject on financial repression and liberalisation through analysing micro level data of banks’ lending practice rather than using aggregate macro-level data. Bank-level information provides banks’ concerns, challenges and their loan assessment process while operating under repressive financial policies. This study is also unique in the sense that it is contributing to the limited academic literature on Myanmar’s financial system. It represents the last surviving case of repressed financial system and the presence governmental interventions and prudential regulations. Hence, it was used as an example to identify the effectiveness of such policies.

What are the possible future research directions for bank’s credit risk assessment research? A systematic review of literature
Banking prudence and efficiency to manage their risks in different business cycle and environment would help to alleviate crises and losses. Hence, the effective assessment of credit risk is an essential component of a comprehensive technique to credit risk assessment and critical to the long-run of not only banking institutions but also the economy as a whole. Therefore, it has received a great interest from scholars across finance and economics to investigate such assessments by banks in different countries using diverse theoretical underpinnings and methodologies. Hence, this paper is developed to review analytical conceptualisations of credit risks assessments that have been developed in the academic literature. By means of a systematic review, it provides a comprehensive analysis that encompasses approaches used in research papers. There has been no prior review on analytical conceptualisations in this area. Moreover, this review is done in a systematic manner, i.e. categorising journal articles into different categories such as purposes, perspectives and methodologies through a transparent and thorough process. Thus, it will be able to provide an objective review. Finally, the paper will outline the evolution of methodologies and theoretical underpinnings in credit risk management research and a landscape for possible future research directions
