    ASPÉK PSIKOLOGI DINA NOVEL RINI KARYA YOSEPH ISKANDAR (Ulikan Struktural jeung Psikologi Sastra)

    Penelitian ini membahas struktur cerita dan aspek psikologi tokoh utama yang terdapat di dalam novel Rini karya Yoseph Iskandar. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan (1) tema, (2) fakta carita, (3) sarana carita, dan (4) psikologi tokoh utama yang terdapat dalam novél Rini karya Yoseph Iskandar. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analitis dengan teknik studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1) tema dalam novel Rini ini adalah kehidupan dan takdir mengenai jodoh, kematian, dan kebahagiaan. (2) fakta cerita yang terdapat dalam novel Rini terbagi menjadi alur, latar, dan pelaku; alur cerita dibagun oleh 12 episode dengan alur maju; pelaku dibagi menjadi pelaku utama dan pelaku tambahan, terdapat tiga pelaku utama dan 13 pelaku tambahan; latar dalam cerita pun terbagi menjadi tiga, dengan 9 latar tempat, 8 latar waktu, dan latar sosial mengenai bahasa serta lingkungan, (3) sarana sastra yang terdapat dalam novel Rini terbagi menjadi judul, sudut pandang, dan gaya bahasa; judul Rini menggambarkan isi cerita; sudut pandang yang digunakan oleh penulis merupakan sudut pandang orang pertama “saya” sebagai pelaku utama; gaya bahasa yang ditemukan di antaranya simile, personifikasi, hiperbola, pleonasme, eufimisme, metafora, dan litotes, (4) psikologi kepribadian tokoh utama yang terdapat dalan novel Rini mencakup 3 macam karakteristik psikologi dalam diri manusia di antaranya id, ego, superego. This study discusses the structure of the story and the psychological aspects of the main character in the novel Rini by Yoseph Iskandar. The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the theme, (2) the facts of the story, (3) the means of the story, and (4) the psychology of the main character in Yoseph Iskandar's novel Rini. The method used is descriptive analytical with literature study technique. The results show that (1) the theme in Rini's novel is life and destiny regarding mate, death, and happiness. (2) the facts of the story contained in Rini's novel are divided into plot, setting, and actors; the storyline is built by 12 episodes with a forward plot; actors are divided into main actors and additional actors, there are three main actors and 13 additional actors; The setting in the story is also divided into three, with 9 place settings, 8 time settings, and social settings regarding language and environment, (3) the literary tools contained in Rini's novel are divided into titles, points of view, and language styles; Rini's title describes the content of the story; the point of view used by the author is the first person point of view “me” as the main actor; The language styles found include simile, personification, hyperbole, pleonasm, euphemism, metaphor, and litotes, (4) personality psychology of the main character in Rini's novel includes 3 kinds of psychological characteristics in humans including id, ego, and superego

    This article discusses the ontological status of the parts of substances in Aristotle’s theory of categories. Since in this theory the substantial parts, as well as the wholes, are primary subjects of predication, i.e. substances, a part may be to its whole as Socrates is to Callias so that the mereological composition of substances can be regarded as an accident (a relation). It is argued here that in Cat. 7 Aristotle is trying to rule out this possibility by redefining the boundaries of the category of relatives itself. Starting from the framework of the Academic debate and then following closely the text of Cat. 7, the author provides a detailed reconstruction of Aristotle’s argument in order to establish the reason for which the parts of substances hold such an uncertain status. Furthermore, he shows that the Categories do not provide a definitive solution to the mereological problem, which has rather to be sought in the Metaphysics. The following results are attained: a moderately systematic component is revealed in Aristotle’s Categories and a mereological element is detected in the very core of his theory of substance

    T : A Data-Centric, Cyber-Physical Cooling Energy Costs Reduction

    Explosion in Big Data has led to a surge in extremely large-scale Big Data Analytic platforms, resulting in burgeoning energy costs. Big Data compute model mandates strong data-locality for computation performance due to Big Data inertia and bandwidth constraints, and moves computations to data. State-of-the-art cooling energy management techniques rely on thermal-aware computational job placement/migration and are inherently data agnostic in nature. T* takes a novel data-centric approach to reduce cooling energy costs. On the physical side, T* is cognizant of the thermal-profile in the data centers. On the cyber-side, T* is aware of the differences in the data-semantics (i.e., computational job profile, job rate, and life spans) of the Big Data placed in the compute cloud. Based on this knowledge, and coupled with its predictive data models, T* does proactive, cyber-physical, thermal-aware data placement, which implicitly results in thermal-aware job placement in the Big Data Analytics cloud compute model.     Hubungan fraksi area trabekula anterior mandibula dengan kepadatan tulang lumbar spine untuk deteksi dini osteoporosis

    The relationship of anterior mandible trabecular area with bone mass density of lumbar spine for early detection of osteoporosis. Bone mineral density is an indicator of osteoporosis, including the bone mineral density of lumbar spine. The decrease of lumbar spine bone mass density will cause an alteration in another site, including the mandibular. The aim of this research is to determine the predictor of lumbar spine bone mineral density using trabecular bone image of anterior mandible on periapical radiographs. The research was conducted by extracting the area fraction at mandible trabecular bone using digital periapical radiograph from 25 subjects. Canny edge detection was used in digital image processing for each radiograph. The regions of interest were selected from the image obtained by canny edge detection, so that the area fraction could be measured. A linier regression test was applied to determine a relationship between the area fractions of mandible trabecular bone with the bone mineral density of lumbar spine. The result of linear regression test showed that the area fraction of mandible trabecular bone had a moderate negative correlation with bone mass density of lumbar spine (α = 0.046; R = -0.403). The direction of the correlation was negative (b = -0.145). The area fraction of mandible trabecular bone on periapical radiographs could be used as the predictor for bone mass density of lumbar spine. ABSTRAK Kepadatan tulang merupakan indikator osteoporosis, salah satu diantaranya adalah kepadatan tulang pada lumbar spine. Penurunan kepadatan tulang pada lumbar spine mempengaruhi kondisi tulang lain, termasuk tulang rahang bawah (mandibula). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan prediktor densitas mineral tulang menggunakan citra radiograf periapikal tulang trabekula pada regio anterior rahang bawah. Penelitian dilakukan dengan ekstraksi fraksi area tulang trabekula mandibula yang tercitrakan pada radiograf periapikal digital dari 25 subjek. Pengolahan citra digital pada radiograf periapikal dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deteksi tepi canny terhadap masing-masing citra radiograf. Region of Interest diseleksi dari citra hasil deteksi canny, sehingga dapat dilakukan pengukuran fraksi area. Uji regresi linier dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara nilai fraksi area trabekula mandibula dengan tingkat kepadatan tulang pada lumbar spine. Hasil uji regresi linier menunjukkan bahwa nilai fraksi area trabekula mandibula berkorelasi negatif dengan kepadatan tulang dengan kekuatan sedang (α = 0,046; R = -0,403). Adapun arah korelasi antara nilai fraksi area trabekula mandibula dengan kepadatan tulang adalah negatif (b = -0,145).     Tumour is a pathologic condition that frequently occur in the jaws. Diagnosis is an important process to determine the type of tumour for the patient, especially malignant tumour. A precise and correct diagnosis and supported by a precise treatment planning will support the recovery and a better life expectation for the patient. One of the imaging techniques that commonly used is panoramic radiography. As the objective of this research is to acquire a pattern recognition method on the panoramic radiograph for type of tumour detection in the jaws. The image processing method that applied involve histogram equalization, edge detection, and binary image. The processing has been done by considering the shape, edge, and the characteristic of the tumour. The result of image processing compared with the interpretation by the dentist as the reference analysis. The analysis of the image processing result were appropriate with the dentist‟s interpretation for the case of malignant tumour. As the case of malignant tumour that has been observed was squamous cell carcinoma. The result of pattern recognition on the case of malignant tumour showed unobvious edges, the content of the lesion has radiopaque and radiolucency composition, and the defect of mandibular cortical that can be seen obviously

    Production of bioethanol from jackfruit peel waste using Saccharomyces cerevisiae with crude enzyme ratio treatment of Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger. Bioethanol is an alternative energy that is starting to be needed, along with the depletion of petroleum reserves. Bioethanol can be obtained from various wastes, one of which is jackfruit skin with the help of enzymes from T. reesei and A. niger and fermentation using S. cerevisiae. The purpose of this study was to determine the sugar content and the highest ethanol content of jackfruit peel waste using S. cerevisiae with the ratio treatment of crude enzymes T. reesei and A. niger. This research is experimental research. The experimental design used RAL with the independent variables being the ratio of crude enzymes T. reesei and A. niger, namely (1:0), (0:1), (1:1), (1:2), (2:1), (1:3), (3:1) and the dependent variable was the sugar and ethanol content of fermented jackfruit peel using S. cerevisiae. The measurement of sugar content using the DNS method, while the measurement of ethanol content using an alcoholmeter. Data analysis used one-way ANOVA (SPSS version 16). Based on the results of the study, the highest sugar content was in the ratio of crude enzymes T. reesei and A. niger after crude treatment 1:3 (14.21%) and after fermentation 1:2 (14.73%). The highest ethanol content was in the ratio of crude enzymes T. reesei and A. niger 1:1 (1,32%)

    Image Analysis of Periapical Radiograph for Bone Mineral Density Prediction

    Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease. Parameter from any bone site in the body has possibility to be developed as a predictor of osteoporosis. The alteration in the mandible trabecular bone is visible in periapical radiographs. The aim of this study was to correlate the area parameter and the integrated density of periapical radiograph with bone mineral density. Image analysis of periapical radiograph i.e. measurement of area parameter and integrated density was done on Region of Interest (ROI) by using canny edge detection method. Result of this study showed that the area parameter has asignificant (α &lt; 0.05) negative correlation with the bone mass density (BMD) of the lumbar spine (r = -0.371) and T-score of the lumbar spine (r = -0.383). The linear regression test showed that the area parameter only can be used to predict T-score of the lumbar spine (F=5.822, α &lt; 0.05). The integrated density showed a significant (α &lt; 0.05) negative correlation with T-score of hip (r = -0.332) and T-score of lumbar spine (r = -0.377). It can be concluded that the area parameter can be used as one of input parameters for computer-aided system of osteoporosis early detection by using periapical radiograph

    Data center energy costs are increasing rapidly and cooling energy costs form a substantial part of the overall energy costs. Existing research on reducing cooling costs focuses on thermal-aware task placement and migration. However, data-intensive compute clusters such as Hadoop clusters, EC2 clusters at Amazon or Google clusters, pose significant challenges to the task placement and migration algorithms. In such compute clusters, computations have strong data-locality considerations and are co-located with the data. Hence, computations cannot be arbitrarily placed on or migrated to servers in the clusters. Instead of thermal-aware task placement and migration, we take an alternate approach and focus on thermal-aware server selection for energy-aware data placement and migration. Cooling-inefficient hot spots are a ubiquitous problem in data centers. We show that by using thermally-inefficient servers as targets for energy-aware data placement, we can significantly even out the inlet thermal distribution, lower maximum exhaust temperature in the datacenter, and significantly reduce the cooling energy costs.
