Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Full text linkABSTRACTThe problems arise in the form of less objective decision-making and require a long time for selection and there is no computerized system that supports the prioritization of loan recipients. The purpose of this study was to overcome the problem determination of loan recipients by providing objective assessments to prospective loan recipients at the Cooperative Mekar Surya Karanganyar using the TOPSIS method. Loan determination applications use the Visual Basic programming language. Research methods include data collection and analysis and system design. The formulation of this research problem covers how the loan determination at the Cooperative Mekar Surya Karanganyar uses the TOPSIS method and how to build a loan determination application system using the TOPSIS method using the Visual Basic programming language. Based on the test results by comparing the determination of customer loan recipients in the Mekar Surya Cooperative with the calculation of the TOPSIS method proves the application of determining the loan recipient has good performance.Keywords: TOPSIS, Determination of loan recipients, Cooperativ

Full text linkSKPD Kecamatan Polanharjo Kabupaten Klaten merupakan salah satu instansi pemerintahan yang setiap saat mengadakan suatu kegiatan rutin, sudah barang tentu sangat membutuhkan data yang memiliki tingkat akurat, relevansi yang handal dan juga mempunyai ketepatan waktu sehingga di dapatkan suatu informasi yang layak digunakan. Proses pencatatan dan pengagendaan surat keluar masuk pada SKPD Kecamatan Polanharjo Kabupaten Klaten dikerjakan secara dokumen manual, yaitu menggun akan kartu kendali masuk, kartu kendali keluar dan lembar disposisi yang berupa kertas. Untuk mengatasi permasalah yang dihadapi oleh SKPD Kecamatan Polanharjo Kabupaten Klaten, maka dibutuhkan sebuah aplikasi pengagendaan surat keluar masuk yang sudah terkomputerisasi yang dapat membantu kegiatan operasional SKPD Kecamatan Polanharjo Kabupaten Klaten. Metode penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka. Perancangan system ini dibuat dengan Diagram Konteks, Hiearchi Input Process Output, Diagram Alir Data, Entity Relationship Diagram, Desain Input, Desain Output, Kamus Data dan Desain Database. Hasil dari system pengagendaan surat masuk dan surat keluar berupa laporan-laporan yang diperlukan oleh pihak yang terkait sehingga dapat membantu mengatasi permasalahan tentang pengagendaan surat masuk dan surat keluar.Kata Kunci : Agenda, Surat Masuk, Surat Kelua

The purpose of this research is to design an application used to diagnose diseases in curly chili peppers, so that by the method of certainty factors can know the type of plant diseases in curly chili peppers. The method used is a method of certainty factor because this method is used to overcome uncertainty in decision making by measuring the facts or rules. Data collection methods that include interviews with an expert, so the data can be trusted by the truth. To reinforce the research analysis is also looking for information by reading book journals, books and literature in the library and online. Steps to make an implementation of the method of certainty factor in detecting curly chili disease, it is designed to design concepts, collect data, prepare hardware and software, create an application creation diagram Modeling, testing, repair, and resolution. Based on the testing of BlackBox on the system, this system is declared functioning according to user commands. And the targeted testing of the validity of manual calculations and system calculations, declared valid with a 93.77% trust percentage value
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. Tujuan Skripsi ini untuk membuat aplikasi dan penerapannya dari Sistem Komputerisasi Pengolahan Nilai Raport pada SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta dan untuk meningkatkan kinerja. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut, penulis membuat sistem informasi pengolahan data nilai raport.Untuk itu penulis menyusun suatu program aplikasi yang digunakan untuk menunjang sistem informasi pengolahan data nilai raport yang berbasis multiuser. Metode pengumpulan data yang dilakukan penulis meliputi studi lapangan dan studi kepustakaan.Studi lapangan meliputi metode observasi atau pengamatan secara langsung dan metode wawancara langsung dengan pihak yang berhubungan dengan masalah yang diteliti sehingga diperoleh data dan informasi yang dapat dipercaya kebenarannya.Sedangkan studi kepustakaan berguna untuk mendapatkan landasan teori yang berupa pendapat para ahli mengenai hal yang menjadi obyek penelitian seperti peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku dan berkaitan dengan hal-hal yang sedang diteliti.
