Motivation and Participation of EFL Students in the Implementation of Scientific Approach
The aims of this study are: 1) to investigate the EFL students’ motivation in the implementation of the scientific approach (SA) and 2) to investigate the EFL students’ participation in the implementation of the scientific approach (SA). This investigation was under Classroom Action Research (CAR) and was done in two cycles consisted of four stages namely planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subjects were the students of SMP Negeri 2 Sinjai Tengah in academic year 2016/2017. The data was collected through observation, questionnaires, and interview. While the results of CAR, both in the first and the second cycle shows that the students’ motivation and participation in the English learning process significantly improved by implementing SA. All students gave positive responses toward the implementation of SA in the English class. Of the two variables, participation variable is higher than the motivation variable. For learning motivation, students’ reaction toward the teacher’s responses and spirit of the students in carrying out their tasks were the most motivating factors of the students in learning. Meanwhile for the classroom participation, classroom embodied action and silent or non-oral participation were the most participation activities favored by students

Lecturers' Interpersonal Communication Skills and Their Influence on Student Engagement in EFL Speaking Classes
This study examines the role of lecturers' interpersonal communication skills in enhancing English as a Foreign Language (EFL) speaking classes, focusing on both verbal and nonverbal communication strategies. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and classroom observations involving two EFL lecturers in Indonesia. The findings reveal that lecturers’ deliberate application of interpersonal communication, including verbal techniques such as modeling English use and engaging discussions, as well as nonverbal cues like gestures and body language, positively impacts students’ motivation, confidence, and active participation in speaking activities. Lecturers highlighted the importance of building rapport and creating a supportive classroom environment to foster student engagement, aligned with Vygotsky's Social Constructivist Theory on interactive learning. However, challenges related to cultural variations in nonverbal communication were noted, indicating a need for intercultural awareness in diverse classrooms. This study contributes to EFL pedagogy by emphasizing the significance of interpersonal communication in promoting effective language learning and suggests incorporating communication skills training into EFL teacher development programs

A Case Study of Beginning EFL Teacher in Planning Lesson at Public Senior High School in Makassar, Indonesia
The study aims at discovering the beginning EFL teacher’s competence in planning lessons in terms of the way he articulates clear learning objectives for the lesson, the way he selects teaching materials related to the objectives to be achieved, and the way he selects assessment related to lesson objectives. This study is a qualitative research with a case study. The study was conducted at SMAN A in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The subject was one beginning EFL teacher who taught English of the first year students in a public senior high school in Makassar. He has an undergraduate certificate (S1 Sarjana degree or equal to B.A.) in English Education and had been teaching one year in SMAN A. The data collections were obtained through the questionnaire, semi structured interview, on-site lesson plan observation, and documentation. Data then was analyzed descriptively. The results of the study reveal that Muhlis (pseudonym), the beginning EFL teacher, stated general learning objective which was difficult to be observed and measured, he organized learning material from the easiest to the most challenging material which he took mostly from the textbook, and he used his feeling when assessing his students. He did not even acknowledge grading system. The result also shows that Muhlis did not make formal written lesson plan. He has mind lesson plan due to his prior experiences and routine teaching of lower grade in first-year senior high school students. Keywords: lesson planning, beginning EFL teache
The application of wadi’ah contract by some financial institutions in Malaysia
Islamic finance emancipated as a replacement for the conventional financial practices that aims only at profit
making i.e. capitlist oriented finance. Although both are termed finance, but Islamic finance has two major
distinguish features which are: the motive is not profit making only rather seeking the pleasure of Allah’s
mercy in the hereafter. The second feature is the use of asset backed-up transactions and profit distribution
system as agreed at fore hand. These features manifested in the dealings of the Islamic Financial Institutions
(IFIs) established to excute the aims and objectives of Islam and Muslims as the vicegerent of Allah on earth
and one who are bound by injunctions in all their transactions. In order to achieve these objectives Islamic
banks have moved in an alternative bearing from the conventional banks in practices and brands of products.
One of these products is rebranding of the conventional savings account with the Wadi‘ah account. Therefore,
this paper aims at explaining the concept of wadi‘ah, the evidences of its legitimacy, conditions, prohibited
elements in this transaction, its types and how its application in some financial institutions in Malaysia.
Finally, we found out that, modern wadi‘ah took a different shape from the original wadi‘ah. While original
wadi‘ah is based on Amanah (turst), contemporary wadi’ah is based on daman (liability) which is more or less

Hardware development on auto focuse microscope
The scientific instrument technology has growth faster than we all could imagine, there are many research team keeping their momentum in creating new innovation in scientific instrumentation technologies. The optical microscopes are still being used widely in the scientific research especially by researcher and medical practitioners. Manually deal with the microscope could make the user spend so much time to obtain the result of cleared image. It could cost hours to obtain the desire result. From this problem, the author would like to
introduce a hardware system for auto focused of optical microscope. There consist of two stepper motor that will be function to control the fine focus knob and the course focus knob. The timing belts are being used as mounting between the stepper motor and the fine/course focus knob. The motor will moves step by step in same degree given from the command of programming. The motor are able to be control and it move slowly and in able to move in a small angle to finding the exact proper exposure of the images scan. The hardware implementation of auto focus on the optical microscope has been tested and it work perfectly
