Weis recalls Myers wanting IWU\u27s niche to be the multi-talented and sold everyone on the idea that IWU was already great and would be better. Prior to Myers there was a micro university focus and he supported that. Provost McNew was focused on establishing a liberal arts ideal; Myers didn\u27t oppose that idea but also wanted to keep Nursing. He wanted to expand and grow the University and the faculty supported him. Myers inculcated a love of collecting among people and speculates that collecting helps you think about all the things surrounding the object--time period, materials--that it helps broaden perspective on how the world operates. Weis recalls the last conversation he had with Myers, the auction, and that had Myers lived, he may have donated his whole collection at a later time. Library micro-managing took place because of Myers\u27 love of books and his desire to manipulate reports to others (US News & World Reports ranking). Weis concluded Myers was a true Renaissance man who loved life, and he is not sure what he would have done next in his presidency

Steady-state solutions for atomic multipole moments in an arbitrarily oriented static magnetic field

    No full text
We derive algebraic expressions for the atomic multipole moments mk,q (F ) describing the steady-state polarization of an atomic ensemble with angular momentum F in a static magnetic field of arbitrary direction and general multipole relaxation rates Gamma^k_q . The longitudinal moments mk,0 are given in terms of truncated continued fractions, while the transverse moments, representing the ensemble coherence, are given by products of truncated continued fractions. The special case of isotropic relaxation leads to particularly simple and elegant expressions. Our results are relevant for all domains of physics that consider the evolution of a spin system interacting with vector-type perturbations

More than 10 years after its establishment “Weis A” LLC opened its own metal construction production factory. To assess the changes that have happened in the company, a research was conducted with the aim of performing “Weis A” LLC business analysis and identifying further development possibilities of the company. To perform business analysis, the author of this paper applied following methods: financial ratio analysis, PESTLE, SWOT, Porter 5 forces method and benchmarking. In the research it was discovered that opening of its own factory gave company not only a huge competitive advantage, but also highlighted its weaknesses. This paper consists of 77 pages, including 7 pictures, 20 tables, 15 formulas, 1 annex and 44 sources of information. Keywords: business analysis, internal environment, external environment, development possibilities
