Webber Family Papers, 1895-1976
The collection contains ledgers and maps of the timberland business owned by several generations of the Webber family. The ledgers include primarily correspondence and financial information. The maps provide information about the family\u27s land holdings in northern Maine.
The ledgers are arranged by the company function they represent: executive, financial and production. The collection begins with copies of outgoing correspondence, 1955-1960, from G. Peirce Webber; much of it concerns acknowledgments of rent received for campsites on Webber land. Copies of deeds, permits, etc., follow, along with a scrapbook of newspaper clippings, 1903-1907, concerning land and lumbering.
The journals, 1928-1965, which make up a large part of the collection often list C.J. Webber as agent, presumably acting for other members of the Webber family in the management of their land holdings. C.P. Webber, Franklin R. Webber, R.B. Webber, M.P. Heald, C.J. Webber, T. Roscoe Webber, Anne W. Chase and Lucy R. Webber are all mentioned in various volumes. One of the journals records information about the estate of Charles P. Webber.
The maps are arranged chronologically with a section of undated maps at the end. Some of the maps were compiled by Charles P. Webber.https://digitalcommons.library.umaine.edu/findingaids/1060/thumbnail.jp

Measurements of NH3 and CO2 with distributed-feedback diode lasers near 2.0 µm in bioreactor vent gases
When this research was performed, M. E. Webber, J. B. Jeffries and R. K. Hanson were with the
High Temperature Gasdynamics Laboratory, Department of Mechanical
Engineering, Stanford University. M. E. Webber is now with Pranalytica, Inc.

with Radiant Photonics, Inc.Measurements of NH3 and CO2 were made in bioreactor vent gases with distributed-feedback diode-laser
sensors operating near 2 um. Calculated spectra of NH3 and CO2 were used to determine the optimum
transitions for interrogating with an absorption sensor. For ammonia, a strong and isolated absorption
transition at 5016.977 cm-1 was selected for trace gas monitoring. For CO2, an isolated transition at
5007.787 cm-1 was selected to measure widely varying concentrations [500 parts per million (ppm) to
10%], with sufficient signal for low mole fractions and without being optically thick for high mole
fractions. Using direct absorption and a 36-m total path-length multipass flow-through cell, we achieved
a minimum detectivity of 0.25 ppm forNH3 and 40 ppm for CO2. We report on the quasi-continuous field
measurements of NH3 and CO2 concentration in bioreactor vent gases that were recorded at NASA
Johnson Space Center with a portable and automated sensor system over a 45-h data collection window.Mechanical Engineerin
Implementation of supersymmetric processes in the HERWIG event generator
We describe the implementation of supersymmetric processes in the HERWIG Monte Carlo event generator. We define relevant parameter and mixing conventions and list the hard scattering matrix elements. Our implementation is based on the Minimum Supersymmetric Standard Model, with the option of R-parity violation. The sparticle spectrum is completely general. Both hadron-hadron and lepton-lepton collisions are covered. This article supplements a separate publication in which the general features of HERWIG 6.2 are described, and updates the treatment of supersymmetry to version 6.4
