Improved analysis of Organic Rankine Cycle based on radial flow turbine
With attention to the drawback of specifying isentropic efficiency of expander (or turbine) in Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) analysis, in order to enhance reliability of analysis results, this article replaces the constant isentropic efficiency by internal efficiency of optimal radial flow turbine for each condition. With both analysis methods, namely internal efficiency analysis method and conventional analysis method, 14 subcritical ORC working fluids are studied with hot water of 90℃, pinch point temperature of 5℃ and condensing temperature of 30℃. Results with both analysis methods are compared. The results show that turbine internal efficiency is determined by expansion ratio in rotor and decreases with the rise of expansion ratio in rotor. There are differences between cycle net power output with internal efficiency analysis method and that with conventional analysis method. The differences can change the results in optimizing fluid. It is significant to apply computational optimal efficiency instead of constant isentropic efficiency in ORC analysis

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Role of dysbindin in dopamine receptor trafficking and cortical GABA function.
Dysbindin has been implicated in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia, but little is known about how dysbindin affects neuronal function in the circuitry underlying psychosis and related behaviors. Using a dysbindin knockout line (dys(-/-)) derived from the natural dysbindin mutant Sandy mice, we have explored the role of dysbindin in dopamine signaling and neuronal function in the prefrontal cortex (PFC). Combined cell imaging and biochemical experiments revealed a robust increase in the dopamine receptor D2, but not D1, on cell surface of neurons from dys(-/-) cortex. This was due to an enhanced recycling and insertion, rather than reduced endocytosis, of D2. Disruption of dysbindin gene resulted in a marked decrease in the excitability of fast-spiking (FS) GABAergic interneurons in both PFC and striatum. Dys(-/-) mice also exhibited a decreased inhibitory input to pyramidal neurons in layer V of PFC. The increased D2 signaling in dys(-/-) FS interneurons was associated with a more pronounced increase in neuronal firing in response to D2 agonist, compared to that in wild-type interneurons. Taken together, these results suggest that dysbindin regulates PFC function by facilitating D2-mediated modulation of GABAergic function
Conversion of carbon dioxide in atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharges with different electrode configurations
The choice of electrode configuration and dielectric material is critical to the discharge process and plasma characteristics of a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactor. In this study, a new electrode configuration of DBD reactor with copper mesh as electrode inserted between dielectrics is proposed, which has a much higher capacitance than the conventional double-dielectric layer DBD reactor. Two materials with different relative dielectric permittivities, alumina and zirconia, are chosen as dielectrics for an experimental comparison of CO2 decomposition. The experimental results show that the conversion rate of CO2 for the reactor with copper mesh inserted between dielectrics are higher than that of the corresponding double dielectric layer reactor under the same discharge power, and the conversion rate of CO2 with zirconia as a dielectric material is higher than the case of alumina as a dielectric. Further analysis of discharge characteristics shows that for the reactor with copper mesh inserted between dielectrics, the applied voltage required for discharge is significantly reduced, the amount of transferred charge is significantly increased, and the number of micro-discharge current pulses as well as the average lifetime during a single voltage cycle are also considerably increased, leading to an increase in the CO2 discharge efficiency and conversion rate
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
