Get PDFMusic is broadly-known in Malaysia community. As the community becomes more interested in music, music has been taught in schools. Nowadays, learning music seems to be not important in schools. This can be seen through the music education learning period in schools that have been shortened from sixty minutes per period to thirty minutes per period (Feride, 2014). It can be that learning music is not that important to be taught in schools or parents of the children also agree that music period should be shorter than the other subject period at schools. This matter has related to how community thinks about music education. Previous research has researched on how public perceptions of music (Austin, 2011). Issues that related to music education might affect the perceptions towards learning music in schools. The problems that might affect the perception toward learning music is music that been taught by the non - music specialist (Holden and button (Ed) 2006). Meanwhile, Wright (Ed) 2001) stated that the gender is an issue in learning music. No full textAsnaf al-riqāb di Selangor telah ditafsirkan sebagai seseorang yang terbelenggu di bawah suatu kuasa atau keadaan yang menjadi hambatan kepada dirinya bagi menjalani kehidupan yang lebih baik. Usaha yang diambil oleh Jawatankuasa Fatwa Negeri Selangor terhadap perluasan tafsiran al-riqāb telah dapat mengekalkan pengagihan zakat terhadap asnaf ini pada ketika masyarakat beranggapan bahawa tidak perlu lagi dilakukan pengagihan terhadap mereka kerana golongan hamba telah tiada pada masa kini. Namun begitu, berlaku ketidaksamarataan dalam pengagihan yang dibuat ke atas setiap asnaf dan al-riqāb didapati sentiasa menerima jumlah agihan kedua terendah daripada keseluruhan agihan. Oleh itu kajian ini dijalankan bagi menjelaskan konsep asnaf al-riqāb serta menganalisis agihan zakat tehadap asnaf ini di Selangor dari perspektif fiqh. Analisis dari sudut pentafsiran, kaedah, kadar serta manfaat agihan menjadi tumpuan utama kajian. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa perluasan tafsiran al-riqāb yang diamalkan di Selangor adalah suatu pendekatan yang patut dicontohi kerana ia adalah suatu pentafsiran yang berasaskan realiti semasa yang berlaku di Selangor yang mana masalah sosial dan akidahnya sangat mengancam keharmonian masyarakat. Kaedah agihan secara tidak langsung yang diamalkan pula diizinkan syarak dengan mengambilkira keadaan asnaf yang tidak mampu menguruskan agihan dengan cara yang betul sekiranya diberikan secara langsung. Demikian juga agihan ini telah membawa manfaat dalam usaha memulihkan akhlak dan akidah asnaf melalui pembiayaan kepada aktiviti dakwah dan program keagamaan serta terhasilnya Modul Istitābah. Di samping itu kajian turut mencadangkan agar jumlah agihan yang diperuntukkan untuk asnaf ini dapat dinilai semula supaya lebih banyak program dapat dilaksanakan untuk membantu mereka keluar daripada belenggu yang dihadapi
The seroprevalence of anti - Toxoplasma IgG antibodies in Malaysia / Wan Shahriman Yushdee Wan Yusoff
Get PDFToxoplasma gondii (T.gondii) is an obligate intracellular protozoan that infects a wide variety of vertebrate hosts including human. There are four groups of individuals in which diagnosis of toxoplasmosis is most critical: i) pregnant women who acquire their infection during gestation, ii) fetuses and newborns who are congenitally infected, iii) immmunocompromised patients, and iv) those with choriorenitis. This study was carried out to determine the seroprevalence of anti-Toxoplasma IgG antibodies in Malaysia. A random 150 blood samples were analysed using the bioelisa-toxo IgG (Biokit, spain), which is widely used in the diagnosis of toxoplasmosis. The results showed that 56 percent tested positive for IgG. A racial breakdown showed that the Indians had the highest percentage of seropositivity compared to other ethnic group. Study on gender showed males have higher seropositivity than females.The study comprised of many age groups. Toxoplasma gondii was found to infect patient's people irrespective of their ages

Get PDFThe purpose of this research is to assist the students in understanding the notes together with its value using iconic sign methodology which was proposedby Jerome Bruner in his cognitive theory study. The standard four students were subjects in this research. This research was conducted in four stages; which are using (i) value icon matching (ii) note icon matching (iii) note card and its value matching (iv) writing a correct note value. The data collection consisted of pre-test and post-test, observation and survey. The instruments used in this research are test sheets, note sheets, and checking sheet forms. The result of the analysis shows an improvement in the students' score in the post-test compared to the pre-test score in which all the subjects obtained foil marks. This improvement is justified by another result which was obtained by observation and the response from checking the sheet forms. In summary, the result of the study shows that the usage of iconic sign in learning will be able to improve the students' ability to choose the correct iconic note value
Kembara Santun Ummah 2.0: UMission club provides aid in Sabah
Get PDFA recent humanitarian initiative called “Kembara Santun Ummah 2.0” took place in Kudat and Pulau Banggi, Sabah from 30 April to 7 May, 2023. This was a collaboration between UMission for Peace Malaysia, Persatuan Alumni SMSAH, ADAB Sabah and GENERASI Kudat. Nine students represented UMission Club, IIUM, together with their Advisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Mazwati Wan Yusoff, who assisted over 1,000 beneficiaries consisting of asnaf, stateless and undocumented communities. Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, a majority of the underprivileged there have been unemployed and without income. Due to this, healthcare services and religious obligations like circumcision procedures have become unaffordable for some. Therefore, the funds raised for this project were utilized to provide free circumcision procedures and food aid, especially for the underprivileged who have limited access to humanitarian assistance
