Parking provision and management is an important issue for both public authorities and private operators running those facilities. The parking problems drive the traffic professionals to seek for more efficient solutions as to how the parking system can be used more efficiently and how parking planning and management can be improved. The growth in population and cars circulating has brought the parking experience to the forefront of the overall shopping experience. Parking facilities is important for the success of a mall because most customers will look for a space to park their cars. The aim of this research is to analyse the user satisfaction on the efficiency of parking facilities in shopping complexes. The purpose of this study is to determine the parking facility available at the shopping complexes, identify the users’ level of satisfaction towards parking facility and suggest the solutions to increase efficiency of parking facility. The scope of this research is focusing on the parking facilities provided at shopping complexes in Penang. A total of 300 questionnaires was distributed to three shopping malls which were Gurney Plaza, Gurney Paragon and Queensbay Mall. Out of 300 questionnaires distributed, only 276 questionnaires were returned back by the respondents. The collected data were transferred to SPSS software which the outcome has been in the form of table and bar chart. The result from the survey showed that the levels of satisfaction towards the facilities in the three shopping malls were between moderate to high. The level of agreement from each of the mall varies. Based on the data analysed, it can be observed that users at all the three shopping malls are most satisfied with the lighting provided at the parking area. The second most satisfied by users is panic button at shopping mall 2 and 3 and signage for shopping mall 1

Compact omnidirectional VHF antenna for PDRM two ways radio communication vehicles / Wan Zamzulri Wan Ibrahim

Development of Very High Frequency (VHF) omnidirectional antenna for two ways radio communication of Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) vehicle is reported. The size of the antenna is increasing relatively on the shifting down of the operational frequency which is effect to the rising of wavelength. The most challenges is due to the large size of patch antenna at the VHF band. The antenna was invented from combination method of slots and meander line and partial ground plane. The narrow and deep slot were fixed on the ground plane after computing the dimensions. However an optimization was using the width of antenna feedline in order to overcome the mismatch impedance of the design. The size of the proposed antenna dimension are 251mm x 181mm or about 0.129?^, x 0.093^ if refer to the center frequency of 155 MHz. This reduction size was 68% from the conventional approach. This antenna produces an omnidirectional radiation pattern with 1.364 dBi gain. Results from both simulation and measurement agreed well each other

This project incorporates the Rules Application Order (RAO) stemming algorithm with thesaurus approach by Rapizal. It is an opportunity to find out whether combining stemming with thesaurus will improve retrieval effectiveness and efficiency. Advances in information technology has made it possible for a wide range of text-based information to be searched and retrieved, online, locally or from remote hosts. A wide range of text-based information is searched and retrieved from online connection to remote hosts or locally. This type of popularity is due to advancement in technology that is rapidly growing from day to day 3 There are many Malay word variants that have the same meaning available from Malay words. In order to overcome these word variant problems, the development of a computational technique that could transform both user's search and database words into a single canonical form that is known as Conflation is introduced. One of the well-known conflation algorithms, stemming, is only used to identify morphological variants. Stemming algorithms are language dependent. They have proven to be successful in reducing words with the same stem to a common form and are evidenced by the work of many researchers. Unfortunately, the conflation method is unable to conflate different words that possess the same meaning. These words can only be conflated by a thesaurus that can handle hierarchic, synonymic, and also morphological relationship. To create a thesaurus for a given subject an extensive manual and highly skilled so to solve this problem, another language dependent conflation method, thesaurus is used. It can build all types of relationships that exists between words. The information retrieval thesaurus typically contains a list of terms, where a term is either a single word or phrase. The relationships between them are also included to assist in coordinating indexing and retrieval. So it is found that the incorporation of stemming algorithm and thesaurus successfully increase the retrieved and relevant documents using Malay query words

Nowadays, people seek for furniture that has many functions. Function, design, space, price and material used are important features that need to be considered by customers. Lack of space is the limitation for people who are living in small houses; hence, there is a need for multifunctional furniture. This study is conducted to overcome those problems by designing multifunctional storage with table and chair. The main concept is designing not only multipurpose furniture, but also can be sold in an economical price. In this study, the bookshelves can be switched to a coffee table and chair. Furthennore, modem and contemporary design was applied. Blockboard was used as the main material, as they have excellent properties, cheap and good appearance. A set of a questionnaires were distributed to hundreds of respondent which consists of student, lecturers and others. Then the data was analysed by using SPSS to acquire the result. Results show that the correspondent gives a positive feedback regarding on the material used, multifunction and suitable for limited space. Overall, this multifunctional storage with table and chair is suitable to commercialize in market

Determination of total phenolic content in water using UV-Vis spectrometry / Wan Nurfatin Nasuha Wan Ibrahim

Phenolic content are most important contaminants exist in the surroundings. The release of phenol to the water is considered as a polluting chemical because it leads to several diseases if exposed to human being as well as animals if exceeded the allowable amount of TPC in water. A much more simple method with no usage of hazardous chemical which is chloroform, is use to determine TPC in water that is 4-aminoantipyrine method and was analysed using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. The parameter for method validation are linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantification, repeatability, reproducibility as well as percent recovery. Calibration curve obtained from phenol standard range between 1 ppm to 7 ppm shows correlation coefficient of 0.9993 showing good linearity. Using this method, the LOD and LOQ obtained were 0.0159 0.001 mg L-1 and 0.257 0.0049 mg L-1. The repeatability is 1.84 % and the reproducibility is 11.61 %. The recovery test done were spiked with phenol at 1 ppm, 2 ppm, 5 ppm and 6 ppm and the range recovery were between 98 – 120 % where all the water samples were within the range
