Important criteria for measuring heritage building condition
No full textThe excellence condition of a heritage building lies not only in the appearance of its individual elements, but also in the integrity of all its components, considered as unique criteria of the specific construction technology of its time and place. However, these criteria are varied and not specific. Therefore, this study aimed to identify and rank the important criteria for measuring the condition of heritage buildings in Malaysia. Data obtained through questionnaire and analyzed using Average Index (AI) in order to establish the important criteria. Samples were selected from a panel of experts in the field of heritage buildings management including industry players and academicians. The established criteria will be used as components to develop a new method of heritage building condition determination model in Malaysia

No full textDiversification strategy has been debated in the fields of strategic management and finance. Inconclusive evidences pertaining to the effect of diversification strategy and debt on performance prevail in developed countries. Some studies suggest doing empirical research in developing countries to search for fresh evidence to validate those claims. This study examines the effect of diversification and debt usage on performance. Multiple proxies of performance are used namely market, economic, risk adjusted and accounting measurements in order to select the best proxy to explain the relationship among variables. The method deployed is panel data analysis on a sample of 76 Malaysian firms from various industries for the period of 1994 to 2007. These firms were then classified into 32 related firms and 44 unrelated firms based on type of diversification adopted. Independent variables such as cash flow, capital expenditure, liquidity and size were employed to provide robust evidence pertaining to the relationship between diversification, debt and performance. In addition to using the whole sample, the study also divides it into two periods: pre- and post-crisis. In determining the relationship among variables, multiple regressions were used. The results for all samples do not support the view that debt can be used to enhance performance once the unrelated diversification strategy is implemented. Similarly, debt also is not a factor that can be used to enhance performance in related diversified firms. The results remain consistent for the pre- and post-crisis periods where no significant relationship exists between diversification strategy and performance. The evidence suggests that debt clearly has a negative impact on performance. Therefore, firms should put extra caution in using debt as their financing choice. Apart from that, firms should also monitor other factors that may have a significant impact on performance such as cash flow. Future studies should explore international diversification strategy to investigate whether debt could enhance performance once unrelated strategy has lowered firm’s business risk

The continuation of an active call is one of the important features of a wireless cellular system to provide such a facility by transferring an active call from one cell to another. The objective of this project is to present the study of successful handover and failure between two areas which is at Semenyih, Selangor and Jalan Kuala Selangor, Shah Alam, Selangor. Both these areas are representing the sub-urban and urban area respectively. The paper focused on data collection of 3G mobile communication by using NEMO drive test provided by Digi Communication Berhad. The collected data consist of strength of signal which is Received Signal Code Power (RSCP) and quality of signal which is Ec/no. Data will be analysis using Microsoft excel and will be export to the Matlab. This data will be presented by using Graphical Using Interface (GUI) create using Matlab softwar

Temubual ini telah dijalankan di Pusat Kesenian Muzik Tradisional dan Galeri Wakaf Bharu Kelantan. Tarikh temubual tersebut pada 18 Disember 2023 bermula pada jam 8.33 pagi hingga 10.30 pagi. Encik Mohd Ghani Bin Daud merupakan guru gamelan yang berkhidmat di Maktab Perguruan Kota Bharu dan guru muzik di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Ismail Petra. Encik Mohd Ghani Bin Daud mula bekerja dengan Maktab pada tahun 1980 sehingga tahun 2000. Tugas Encik Mohd Ghani Bin Daud tidak hanya terhad kepada jawatan di Maktab Perguruan Kota Bharu, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Ismail Petra tetapi juga berkhidmat di Pusat Kesenian Muzik Tradisional yang terletak di Wakaf Bharu. Pelbagai ujian dan cabaran telah dihadapi oleh Encik Mohd Ghani Bin Daud semasa berkhidmat sebagai Guru Gamelan. Sejarah kehidupan dan kerjaya beliau dapat dijadikan sumber inspirasi kepada semua orang
