Searches for Higgs bosons decaying to bb̅ in CMS
Searches for the standard model Higgs boson decaying into b quarks and produced in association with either vector bosons or top quark pairs are performed in proton-proton collisions with the CMS detector at the LHC. A search for neutral Higgs bosons decaying into b quarks and produced in association with at least one additional b quark is also performed. This mode is expected to be particularly sensitive to Higgs bosons in MSSM scenarios with large values of the parameter tan bet
Search for beyond the standard model Higgs bosons decaying into a pair in pp collisions at 13 TeV
A search for Higgs bosons produced in association with at least one additional b quark and decaying into a b quark-antiquark pair is performed with the CMS detector. The analysis is done on the data recorded in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV at the LHC, with an integrated luminosity of 35.7 fb−1. No signal observed. Stringent upper limits on the cross section times branching fraction are set for Higgs bosons with masses up to 1300 GeV. The results are interpreted within several scenarios of the minimal supersymmetric model and two-higgs doublet model
The upgrade of the CMS fast beam conditions monitor BCM1F
The BCM1F detector is one of the subsystems of the CMS Beam Conditions and Radiation Monitoring (BRM) system. Designed to monitor the flux of particles with a time resolution of a nanosecond, BCM1F is able to fast diagnose adverse beam conditions, such as beam losses, that could be harmful for the CMS detector components. It monitors luminosity, as well as vacuum and beam-background conditions at real time in the region close to the CMS pixel detector. After the LS1 the LHC will operate at higher luminosity and at higher energy. Moreover, the time between two bunch crossings will decrease from 50ns to 25ns. The current BCM1F system has limited performance under these conditions. A new system with improved time resolution and better multiple-hit detection is under development and will be operational in 2015. The plans for the upgrade of BCM1F are presented in this poster
