Sensory profile of mozzarella cheese and its relationship with consumer preference
No full textThe aim of this work was to set up the sensory profile and consumer preference test of three different Mozzarella cheeses (from full-fat cow milk, from low-fat cow milk and from full-fat water buffalo milk). The most remarkable difference in composition was the fat content. Nine commercial Mozzarella cheeses (three for each type) were evaluated in triplicate by a trained panel consisting of 10 assessors. Six Mozzarella cheeses (two for each type) out of the nine samples were selected and used for the preference test by 105 consumers. The three different Mozzarella cheeses were sensorially well differentiated. A good discrimination between the Mozzarella cheeses was obtained using the internal preference map method. The combination of cluster analysis and internal preference mapping has lead to a deeper understanding of consumer liking for Mozzarella cheeses
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Deletions of 2q14 that include the homeobox engrailed 1 (EN1) transcription factor are compatible with a normal phenotype
No full textA novel transmitted 2-3 Mb deletion of 2q14.1-q14.2 was found in an affected boy from a consanguineous family with a possible diagnosis of PEHO syndrome (OMIM 260565). BAC FISH showed that the deletion included a minimum of 20 genes including the homeobox engrailed 1 gene (EN1). However, the same deletion was also found in his phenotypically normal father and brother (family 1). The phenotype of the proband may, therefore, have been coincidental to the deletion, a result of a recessive condition within or outside the deleted segment or possibly due to variable dosage compensation of EN1 by the paralogous EN2 gene at 7q36. BAC FISH also showed that this deletion overlapped with a previously reported transmitted deletion of 2q13-q14.1 that had no phenotypic consequences (family 2). The deleted regions contained a total of 32 genes and comprise the final 5.25 Mb of the ancestral chromosome 2B from which chromosome 2 was formed in man. These families provide further evidence that heterozygous deletions of regions of low gene density are compatible with a normal phenotype
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
No full textWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

development were identified while the paper advised on how the Book Industry can be
further promoted in Nigeria. However, the paper concluded and made recommendations

No full textThis paper reconsiders youth transition regime literature in the context of recent changes to Government policies in the age at which young adults are deemed independent of their parents, the privatization of the funding of higher education, and the current housing crisis. We provide new evidence regarding class inequalities in transitions to adulthood over the past twenty-five years. All social classes have seen a delay in some transitions such as getting a full time job, and becoming a home owner. Class differences in the likelihood of remaining in the parental home have widened. Regardless of social background, having a degree remains key to avoid precarious employment, but within the graduate and nongraduate groups there are class inequalities in the likelihood of being unemployed, or in a routine job. Despite the recent postponement of motherhood among disadvantaged groups, the timing and partnership context of motherhood remains strongly class stratified
