Reducing attendances and waits in emergency departments : a systematic review of present innovations

and is a government priority. In order to reduce waits the whole
system must be considered. The flow of patients before arrival at the
emergency department determines the workload of the department.
The staffing, resources and systems within the emergency department
are key to providing high quality timely care. The flow of patients after
leaving the emergency department until their return home will
determine whether they can be discharged from the department in a
timely manner. Despite the present focus on emergency care in the
NHS there have been no reviews of the literature to inform the present
changes to reduce waits

No full textIsolation and Characterization of Waits, an A15 Subcluster Actinobacteriophage Audrey Waits and Indiren Pillay Bacteriophages are incredibly abundant viruses that exclusively infect bacteria. With estimated abundance at 1031, most bacteriophages have not been characterized. The goal of this study was to isolate and characterize a novel Gordonia terrae bacteriophage from Middle Georgia. Soil samples were collected from Lake Laurel and the Oconee River Greenway, enriched with Gordonia terrae and then filtered to test for phage activity. Prospective lysate was serially diluted and assessed for plaque formation, indicating phage activity. Plaques were then purified using serial dilutions until all plaques were the same diameter, suggesting a pure phage culture. Once purified, samples of phage were visualized by transmission electron microscopy. Phage DNA was extracted, purified and subjected to restriction enzyme digest using BamHI, ClaI, EcoRI, HaeIII, and HindIII and gel electrophoresis. The resultant DNA profile was then compared to other known digests of phage DNA. When no similar patterns were found, a concentrated DNA sample was then sent off for sequencing. After sequencing, DNAMaster and Phamerator software were used to annotate the genome. Electron microscopy revealed an icoshohedral head with average diameter for the capsid at 55nm and average length of the non-contractile tail at 125nm. Based on the physical characteristics, phage “Waits” is in the Siphoviridae family. Gel electrophoresis showed that BamHI, ClaI, and HaeIII cut the DNA. Genome sequencing resulted in 52856 bp with GC content 62%. Preliminary analysis indicates phage Waits is a novel bacteriophage in the A15 taxonomic subcluster with 101 genes

Margt tónlistafólk hefur reynt við lög hans, bæði konur og karlar. Áhugavert er að bera saman útgáfur Waits og ábreiður (e. covers) kvenna á lögum hans, reyna að greina hvar munurinn liggur, hvað virkar og hvað ekki. Excess Demand and Rationing: Selling to an Input
Full text linkThis paper develops a model that explains the persistence of excess demand for some goods. It offers that, for some goods, consumers care about who else is consuming the good. As such, their willingness to pay depends on their beliefs about the other consumers. We demonstrate that screening mechanisms that impose costs in negative correlation to an individual's (positive) externality can increase profits while appearing to generate excess demand. We feel that such a model is appropriate in that casual observation seems to indicate that it does well in predicting which goods would use such a screening mechanism and which would not.excess demand, distributional waits, scalping, pricing
