Following the debate within the field of Translation Studies on the effects of the choices of translation strategies on the translated text, this research aims at the analysis of the translation of indigenous terms, here regarded as cultural markers, in Hector Olea#s Spanish translation of one of the best known Brazilian literary work, Macunaíma, by modernist author Mário de Andrade. At the initial stage, a small parallel corpus was built, from which it was possible to verify the strategies used by the translator, only then theoretical concepts were sought in order to explain the translator#s choices. Moreover, the initial hypotheses that proper names are not translated and that the translator would make only few changes because of the proximity of the languages were also verified. The results of the analysis confirm the first hypothesis but refute the second, mainly due to Olea#s translation project of transforming Macunaíma into a Hispanic-American hero

Architecture of sovereignty : stone bodies, colonial gazes, and living gods in South India /
In this innovative study, Gita V. Pai traces the history of the Pudu Mandapam (Tamil, 'new hall') - a Hindu temple structure in Madurai - through the rise and fall of empires in south India from the seventeenth century to the present. This wide-ranging work illustrates how south Indian temples became entangled in broader conflicts over sovereignty, from early modern Nayaka kings, to British colonial rule, to the post-independence government today. Drawing from methodologies in anthropology, religious studies, and art and architectural history, the author argues that the small temple site provides profound insight into the relationship between aesthetics, sovereignty, and religion in modern South Asia.Title from publisher's bibliographic system (viewed on 21 Apr 2023).In this innovative study, Gita V. Bhakti, Buddhism and the Bhagavad-Gita
In this paper, author outlines one possible influence in the development of the doctrine of Bhakti-Marga (a devotional
type of worship in Hinduism) as presented in the Bhagavad-Gita (a Hindu philosophical text). This possible
influence in the development of Bhakti-Marga is that of Brahmanic reaction to Buddhism. Of course, Buddhism is
not the only reason for Bhakti-Marga's development, but author
believes that the Gita only formalized
Bhakti-Marga, making it acceptable for the social
elite and the rising middle class of India

Conclusions: In RBM strategic goals are defined that initiate a causal process in which results are specified to achieve the goals, and these, in-turn, determine programmes, processes and resources.
One of the central ideas of the Bhagavad-gita is the performance of activities without attachment or any expectation of results. This is a concept to which the tome refers as renunciation. Furthermore, the Gita states that renunciation enables us to enter into a conscious alignment with the higher order

Symbolic language for autistic spectrum and mental disorder students
Thesis topic: Symbol language for students with autism spectrum and mental disabilities. Author of the work: Gita Gorda The aim of the research is to theoretically and practically study the influence of symbols on speech development in primary school students with autism spectrum and mental development disorders. Results: The author of the work, based on the researched theoretical literature and students observations, evaluated the students knowledge, abilities and skills, developed a development plan for the acquisition and use of symbol language. The author chose to use social stories, together with symbolic language, to develop students language and speech, thus making the teaching process more interesting. After the corrective action, the author concludes that the growth of students is low, but there are improvements, which means that the use of symbolic language for speech and language development is effective. The results of the observation after corrective developmental activity show that the greatest improvement is observed for one student, who in cooperation with his assistant has started to use and apply the symbolic language in everyday life and in the learning process. During the corrective developmental activity, the students have acquired the skills of using the symbol language. By re-testing, the use of the symbol language for students with ASD and MDD, the author of the paper has recorded significant results for four students who have completed the 4th learning phase during corrective developmental activities. One of the students is able to create longer sentences about what is going on around him on his own initiative
Differentation of short and long vowels for 2nd grade students with phonematic disorders
The theme of the diploma paper – Differentiation of short and long vowels by 2nd grade students with phonemic disorders.
