Complexity of Fault Tolerant Query Complexity
In the model of fault tolerant decision trees introduced by Kenyon and Yao, there is a known upper bound E on the total number of queries that may be faulty (i.e., get the wrong bit). We consider this computational problem: Given as input the truth table of a function f: {0,1}ⁿ → {0,1} and a value of E, find the minimum possible height (worst-case number of queries) of any decision tree that computes f while tolerating up to E many faults. We design an algorithm for this problem that runs in time Õ(binom(n+E,E)⋅(2E+3)ⁿ), which is polynomial in the size of the truth table when E is a constant. This generalizes a standard algorithm for the non-fault tolerant setting
Ramita seca, tu corazón: performance, fabulação e experiência drag latina-americana em Bartolina Xixa
In this article, we discuss the performances of the Argentinian drag queen Bartolina Xixa, an artist who calls herself a diverse drag queen, based on the observation of two of her videos: Ramita Seca: La colonialidad permanent (2019) and BARTOLINA XIXA (2019). We interrogate the ways in which the artist's experience constitutes an important shift in relation to entertainer drag queens, by claiming processes of territorialization and deterritorialization that emerge in her performances and concern her relationship with different aspects of her experience in the world: the geographic origin, on the border between Argentina, Bolivia and Chile; the binarity inscribed in traditional Andean cultures and the updating of colonial logics in Latin America. In dialogue mainly with La Fountain-Stokes (2011; 2021), Hartman (2008), Taylor (2013), Comolli (2008) and Brasil (2011), we seek to identify dimensions of fabulation in Bartolina Xixa's artistic practices, inscribed in her performances and in the mise en scène of the videos, that claim a marica & chola existence, politically questioning the imaginary of white Argentina, the ethnic erasure of the region's black and indigenous populations and the very idea of what a drag queen performance is.Analizamos en el artículo las performances de la drag queen Bartolina Xixa, una artista argentina que se autodenomina drag queen diversa, a partir de la observación de dos de sus videos: Ramita Seca: La colonialidad permanente (2019) y BARTOLINA XIXA (2019). Regression analysis of knowledge sharing behavior / Norfadzilah Abdul Razak, Ramita Abdul Rahim and Maimunah Md Shah
This paper aims to explore three predictors of Theory Planned Behaviour (attitude, subjective norm and Perceived Behaviors Control) towards the knowledge sharing behavior. Knowledge sharing behavior has become a major issue and is commonly highlighted in the study of knowledge management. Researchers have given serious attention to identify the determinants of knowledge sharing behavior. Employees have to be motivated to share their knowledge and experience in the workplace. In order to influence knowledge sharing behavior among employees, organizations need to understand the tools that drive employees to share their knowledge willingly with others. This paper discusses three predictors of Theory Planned Behavior which have significantly influenced knowledge sharing behavior. A questionnaire survey was administered to the selected group of employees from tourism and hospitality industries in Cyberjaya Malaysia. The 207 employees were participating in this research study. The instrument was adapted from previous study. The result reveals that an absence of attitude is not significantly related to knowledge sharing behavior. However, subjective norms and perceived behavior control relate significantly. This study implies that changes of attitude in individual promote and encourage knowledge sharing behavior positively. The findings of this study proposed to the organization to influence employee to embed the knowledge sharing culture to the employee. The organization needs to change the attitude of employee in term of willingness of them to share knowledge with co-workers. The possibilities of this circumstance happen because of lack awareness of knowledge sharing benefits, lack of rewards and recognition to their contribution and competition among themselves which need to do further study

Sweetpotato varieties for the Papua New Guinea highlands - a postharvest perspective
PURPOSE OF REVIEW: This review highlights the importance of varieties in the Papua New Guinea highland sweetpotato value chain in relation to postharvest management, the need for quality specifications, recognition of consumer preferences and effective marketing. FINDINGS: Technical and socio-economic factors limit the quality of sweetpotato roots sold to consumers. The "informal" (local) market is characterised by polypropylene sacks containing 100 kg or more, of roots, no formal crop specifications, and no temperature management, but since consumption is relatively soon after harvest, and the market of lower value, low technology input is appropriate. The "formal" market is centred on the major cities of Lae and Port Moresby, and it may be several days after harvest before the crop is delivered. Although it is not widely recognised, sweetpotato roots are very perishable. For the higher value market, true-to-label varieties, packaging (smaller solid-walled boxes), a cool chain all the way to the consumers, market intelligence from the market back to the farmer, and maintenance of the road infrastructure, all need implementation. Varieties are but one small part of the picture. DIRECTIONS FOR FUTURE RESEARCH: Implementation of low cost technologies, such as on-farm curing and some basic quality standards need to be researched. Investigating the costs associated with establishment of a cool chain management system in the highlands, packaging management (smaller solid-walled containers), ways to retain consumer interest in sweetpotato products (such as new and colourful varieties, and preparation methods), and industrial uses for lower quality or otherwise waste roots, are all areas where further information is needed to maintain quality and enable the sweetpotato industry to become more profitable.Irving, DE; Newman, SM; Ramita,
El extraño caso de Alexis Tamayo y Míster Chip
"En el fútbol no hay lógica.
Hay cálculo, probabilidades,
especulación y, bien
al fondo, una ramita de esperanza
donde late el corazón
del hincha, que de estadística
y racionalidad entiende poco,
porque lo suyo es el desborde
pasional.
Sin embargo, Míster Chip,
aunque navega en las aguas
de la matemática aplicada
al deporte rey, no ha dejado
que esa ramita se marchite
del todo y, números, curvas
y promedios al
margen, también
sabe emocionarse.
Como
cualquiera"
