No full textThe article discusses Polish sentences which are based on the same pattern: '...w taki sposób, że...'. The semantic analysis of phrases with the sequence sposób 'manner' has shown that the basic context for the concept of a way, or manner, of doing something accounts for the relational character of this idea. The relation in question occurs between the action, which is mentioned in a sentence, and its description. This meaning can be found/indicated thanks to the thematic-rhematic structure of sentence which distinguishes two functions of '... w taki sposób, że...': expressing the process of doing something, and expressing the manner of doing the thing in question
Teratogenic effects of suramin on the chick embryo
No full textSuramin, a polysulfonated naphthylamine, has been used for the chemotherapy of trypanosomiasis and onchocerciasis since about the 1920s. Currently, it is also being tested as an anticancer agent. It is hoped that suramin might stop the progression of some kinds of cancer since it has been found to inhibit the proliferation and migration of cells and the formation of new blood vessels. These processes are not only essential for the development and progression of cancer, but also for normal embryonic development. Suramin might, therefore, be a potent teratogen. In the literature, however, we have found only scant information on this subject. In the. present study, we demonstrate the teratogenic effects of suramin on chick embryos. Suramin was injected into the coelomic cavity of chick embryos on incubation day (ID) 3. Following reincubation until ID 8, suramin-treated embryos (n=50) were examined for congenital malformations and compared with a control group (n=30). The survival rate of suramin-treated embryos was markedly reduced compared with controls (50% vs 90%). Among the 25 survivors the following malformations were recorded: caudal dysgenesia (100%), median facial clefts with hypertelorism (92%), malformations of the aortic arch arteries (88%), hypo-/aplasia of the allantoic vesicle (84%), microphthalmia (52%), abnormalities of the great arterial trunks (44%), unilateral or bilateral cleft lips (40%), heart defects with juxtaposition of the right atrial appendage (36%), persistence of the lens vesicle (32%), median clefts of the lower beak (8%), omphalocele (4%), and cloacal exstrophy (4%). These results show that suramin is a potent teratogen. The possible implications of our findings for human beings and the possible teratogenic mechanisms of suramin are discussed. Use of suramin in experimental teratology might help to clarify the morphogenesis of median facial clefts and of some congenital heart defects

No full textGalvanizing treatment as a method to protect tools used in teaching processes. This paper presents the use of zinc coating applied on surfaces of wood machining tools - exhibits in teaching processes. Analyses were conducted to determine resistance of applied coatings to the action of various environments, which in an accelerated manner assessed suitability of coatings as a method of tool protection, mainly in terms of their contact with users. Very advantageous effects of zinc coating application were observed in the analyzed variant. Galvanizing processes and the resulting coatings made it possible to identify defects in the material structure of the tools, being the most frequent results of intensive operation and wear.Procesy cynkowania w aspekcie zabezpieczania narzędzi w procesach dydaktycznych. W pracy przedstawiono zastosowanie powłok cynkowych nanoszonych na powierzchnie narzędzi do maszynowej obróbki drewna stanowiących eksponaty wykorzystywane w procesach dydaktycznych. Przeprowadzono analizy odporności nanoszonych powłok na działanie różnych środowisk, które w sposób przyspieszony pozwalały określić przydatność powłok jako zabezpieczeń narzędzi, głównie w aspekcie kontaktu z użytkownikami. Stwierdzono bardzo korzystne efekty zastosowania powłok cynkowych w analizowanym zakresie. Realizacja procesów i efekty cynkowania umożliwiły rozpoznanie w strukturze materiału narzędzi, wad będących najczęściej efektem intensywnej eksploatacji i zużycia

No full textThe experiment with ‘Boro F1’ red beet was aimed at determining the effect of the kind of nitrogen fertilizer (RSM, ENTEC 26) and the manner of application (broadcasting/liquid spreading, with / without foliar nutrition) on the content of protein nitrogen in roots, and ammonium and nitrate nitrogen content in leaves and roots of red beet. The kind of applied fertilizer did not have any influence on the size of examined parameters. In 2005 foliar nutrition with nitrogen caused a decline in nitrate concentrations in leaves and roots of the plants in comparison with unnourished objects; however, such correlation was not corroborated in the following years of the cultivation. Quantities of all examined parameters were diversified depending on the cultivation year.Przeprowadzone doświadczenie z burakiem ćwikłowym ‘Boro F1’ miało na celu zbadanie wpływu rodzaju nawozu azotowego (RSM, ENTEC 26) oraz sposobu stosowania (rzutowy/rozlewowy, zlokalizowany, z dokarmianiem dolistnym lub bez) na zawartość azotu białkowego w korzeniach oraz azotu amonowego i azotanowego w liściach i korzeniach buraka ćwikłowego. Rodzaj zastosowanego nawozu nie miał wpływu na wielkość badanych parametrów. W 2005 r. dolistne dokarmianie azotem spowodowało spadek zawartości azotanów w liściach i korzeniach roślin w stosunku do obiektów niedokarmianych, ale zależność ta nie została potwierdzona w kolejnych latach uprawy. Wielkości wszystkich badanych parametrów były zróżnicowane w zależności od roku uprawy

No full textBackground: Multilateral cooperation is an inherent part of any business and one of the most important factors in the success of modern enterprise. Therefore, in this paper the author addresses the problem of building relationships with partners in a supply chain and focuses on the development of relational abilities as well as inter-organizational ties, and his exploration and considerations are applied to small businesses.
Methods: In the empirical part of the work the author aims to identify the scope and intensity of the involvement of small businesses in taking measures to build relationships with supply chain partners. The basic source of data is the results of empirical research conducted by the author in 2014 by means of mail and personal surveys. A questionnaire specially designed for this purpose was sent out to 500 randomly selected small businesses from the kujawsko-pomorskie region (Poland).
Results: The author provides a positive verification of the formulated hypotheses, which imply that small businesses take action to develop both their ability to establish and maintain relationships and the actual relationships with partners in the supply chain. However, they take various activities into account, but not all, and this is mostly done in a manner that is not systematically, particularly in relation to those undertakings which require more sophisticated skills and tools.
Conclusions: Propagating the theory of relational abilities among small businesses and the concepts indicating the forms of their development and use appears to be justified, even if these companies seem to be aware of the impact of the quality of relationships with supply chain partners on the effects of cooperation with them.Wstęp: Wielostronne współdziałanie jest immanentnym elementem każdej działalności gospodarczej i jednocześnie jednym z najważniejszych czynników sukcesu współczesnego przedsiębiorstwa. Dlatego też autor w niniejszym opracowaniu podejmuje problem budowania relacji z partnerami w łańcuchu dostaw, koncentrując się na kształtowaniu zdolności relacyjnych i więzi międzyorganizacyjnych, przy czym swoje poszukiwania i rozważania odnosi do małych przedsiębiorstw.
Metody: W części empirycznej swego opracowania autor stawia sobie za cel dokonanie identyfikacji zakresu i intensywności zaangażowania małych przedsiębiorstw w podejmowanie działań na rzecz budowania relacji z partnerami w łańcuchu dostaw. Podstawowe źródło danych niezbędnych do realizacji przyjętego celu stanowią wyniki badania empirycznego przeprowadzonego przez autora w 2014 r. metodą ankiety w wersji pocztowej i osobistej. Przygotowany w tym celu kwestionariusz ankiety został skierowany do losowo wybranych 500 małych przedsiębiorstw regionu kujawsko-pomorskiego.
Wyniki: W artykule autor pozytywnie weryfikuje przyjęte przez siebie hipotezy, w ramach, których zakłada, że małe przedsiębiorstwa podejmują działania mające na celu rozwój zarówno swych zdolności do nawiązywania oraz utrzymywania relacji, jak również samych relacji z partnerami w łańcuchu dostaw. Niemniej jednak ich zaangażowanie w tym zakresie jest istotnie zróżnicowane i raczej niesystematyczne, zwłaszcza w odniesieniu do tych przedsięwzięć, które wymagają zastosowania bardziej wysublimowanych kompetencji i narzędzi.
Wnioski: Uzasadnionym wydaje się propagowanie wśród małych przedsiębiorstw teorii zdolności relacyjnych oraz koncepcji wskazujących formy ich rozwijania i wykorzystywania, nawet, jeśli przedsiębiorstwa te wydają się być uświadomione, co do wpływu jakości relacji z partnerami w łańcuchu dostaw na efekty współpracy z nimi

The algorithm and databases presented here will enable automatization of modernizing pig farm livestock buildings, thereby enabling assembly of best process for the farm, without need to enter into databases all of the possible combinations of farming operations and machines and equipment usable in pig farming. An interesting feature is also the possibility to expand - in an unrestricted manner - the files describing machinery and equipment and the numbers of pens and feed corridors.

There is no consistency between the government, voivodeship and local government policies. The legal instruments existing in the present system do not fulfill the role assumed by the legislator. in the form of administrative decisions, in addition to the local law, causing the phenomenon of
uncontrolled suburbanisation. The article presents statistical data illustrating the state of spatial
planning in the communes of the suburban area of Białystok in the scope of local plans, decisions
on building and land development conditions and building permits. Conclusions from the analysis of
the collected materials confirm the phenomenon of the development of communes of the suburban
