    Our data indicate that the stimulatory effect of TSH and cAMP on the proliferative response of FRTL5 rat thyroid cells is associated with an increase in the steady state levels of c-Ha-ras mRNA levels. Whether or not there is a cause and effect relationship between these two phenomena is uncertain at the present time and requires further investigation

The bridge is located 2 km southwest of the modern village of Seki, 2.8 km southeast of the modern town of Ataeymir, and 6.3 km southeast of Aphrodisias.Latitude: 37.41.13.3Longitude: 28.47.27.1Elevation: 626Dimensions: p. H (north pier): 4.8 m ** p. W (north pier): 3.5 m ** p. L (north pier): 12 mDescription: Preservation: Only one pier of the bridge remains standing, located on the north bank of the dere. In contrast to the other bridges, this one is better preserved on its upstream (east) side. The length of the pier has been cut in two to accommodate a dirt road parallel with the stream. Nothing remains of the conduit. ** Construction: The bridge is constructed of mortared rubble faced with petit appareil masonry. The rounded fieldstones that comprise the structure are not as internally consistent in shape and size as those of the other bridges along the aqueduct, and many of the facing blocks are larger than those of the other bridges. One large facing block preserved on the south side of the pier facing the dere is 0.60 m long, 0.25 m high, and 0.50 m deep. The lime mortar is gray with densely ** packed stone inclusions smaller than 0.02 m. ** Description: The pier is preserved to a height of 4.8 m, a width of 3.5 m, and a length of 12 m. The pier rests on a rock outcrop forming the bank of the dere.     The Geologic And Paleogeographic Setting Of An Archeological Site On The Southwestern Coast Of Parita Bay, Panama

    The coastal region in the southwestern corner of Parita Bay, Panama has five distinct environmental zones that can be individually identified by their textures. Sediment extracted from cores can be divided into zones of sediment type on the basis of texture. These zones of distinctive sediment types in the cores correspond closely with the sediment types found in the modern geomorphic zones. The sequence of environments found within the cores shows that the coastal region of southwestern Parita Bay, Panama has been prograding following a period of rapid sea level rise. This rise in sea level is dated at approximately 5,000 years ago from a sedimentation rate of 0.5 mm/year and corresponds closely with the initial occupation of an archeological site.Earth and Environmental ScienceAccompanied by one .pdf file: 1) Dere-Supplemental-1981.pd

    Optymalizacja planowania zamówień ciętych w branży odzieżowej

    Nowadays, apparel businesses have to cut down on their costs in order to ensure the continuity of their activities and to expand them. Fabric costs cover about 50-60% of production costs. In this study, for the minimisation of fabric costs, the cutting department in enterprises was investigated and the cut order plans developed by mixed integer nonlinear programming. Examples were taken from the enterprises that were implemented. A mathematical model was then developed to be used in mixed integer nonlinear programming for a manual cut order plan, and a program code was created in LINGO optimisation software. With the program code developed, optimum results that cannot be manually calculated by an operator is obtained. The amounts of fabric to be used as a result of the cut order plan were applied to the samples taken from the enterprises, and the manual solution and model developed were compared. As a result of the comparisons made, thanks to the model, fabric developed, usage is reduced and fabric cost minimisation ensured.Obecnie firmy odzieżowe muszą obniżać koszty, aby zapewnić ciągłość swoich działań i stale je rozwijać. Koszty zakupu tkanin stanowią około 50-60% kosztów produkcji. W badaniu, w celu zminimalizowania kosztów tkanin, zbadano działy cięcia (krojownie) w przedsiębiorstwach i opracowano plany zamówień cięcia przez mieszane nieliniowe programowanie całkowitoliczbowe. Następnie opracowano model matematyczny do zastosowania w programowaniu nieliniowym o mieszanych liczbach całkowitych do ręcznego planu zamówienia cięcia, a kod oprogramowania został utworzony w oprogramowaniu optymalizacyjnym LINGO. Po opracowaniu kodu programu uzyskano optymalne wyniki, których operator nie może ręcznie obliczyć. Ilości tkanin, które mają zostać użyte w wyniku planu zamówienia cięcia, zastosowano do próbek pobranych z przedsiębiorstw i porównano opracowane ręczne rozwiązanie i model. W wyniku dokonanych porównań i dzięki opracowanemu modelowi ograniczono zużycie i zapewniono minimalizacja kosztów zakupu tkaniny

Bu tezde karşılıklı değiştirmenin esasları, toleranslar ve ölçü zincirleri için en çok kullanılan tolerans analiz yöntemleri olan maksimum-minimum (en-kötü durum) ve ihtimal teorisi (istatistiksel) yöntemleri incelenmiştir. Daha sonra, örnek bir montaj için ölçü zinciri hesaplamaları yapılmış ve bu montaj için her iki yöntem kullanılarak bir bilgisayar programı yazılmıştır. Manufacturing a machine or machine part with functional and mechanical properties in toleranced dimensions provides easy assemblibility and maintenance. This is the basis of interchangeability. By creating assemblies which perform properly, are cost efficient, engineers can assist in producing high quality, interchangeable and marketable products. In today?s competetive market, it is not enough to make technical drawings that can be understood. The designer must make drawings that cannot possibly be misunderstood. Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is the key word. Tolerance analysis allows the designer to quantitatively estimate the effects of variation on design requirements in the early design phases. Using computer programmes for tolerance analysis will make calculations easier. Research presented in this thesis focuses on interchangeability, tolerances, tolerance analysis and developing a computer program for tolerance calculations of dimensional chains. Maximum-minimum and statistical methods have been examined, and calculations for a sample assembly are presented. The results show that for mass production it is more appopriate for a designer to use statistical tolerance for each part dimension. Although The species of genus Cymbella, Achnanthes and Gomphonema constitute the main composition of the benthic flora of Tödürge and Hafik Lakes, howewer the species belonging to genus Navicula, Nitzschia, Epithemia, Gyrosigma, Pinnidaria and Stauroneis are found to be less numerous. During the study, Cymbella cymbiformis Agardh, Cocconeis placentula yar.euglypta Ehr., Achnanthes minutissima Kütz., Amphora commutata Grunow, Gomphonema olivaceum (Hornemann) Breb., Mastogloia braunii Grunow have been the dominant species in whole the flora of Tödürge and Hafik Lakes. The species of whole diatom except Epithemia argus Kütz., Colonels permagra (Bailey) Cleve, Nhzschia adcularis (Kütz.) W.Smith, Stauroneis anceps Ehr., Suriretta ndnuta Breb. were found very frequently and numerous in the whole flora.     A New Spin on Primordial Hydrogen Recombination and a Refined Model for Spinning Dust Radiation

    This thesis describes theoretical calculations in two subjects: the primordial recombination of the electron-proton plasma about 400,000 years after the Big Bang and electric dipole radiation from spinning dust grains in the present-day interstellar medium. Primordial hydrogen recombination has recently been the subject of a renewed attention because of the impact of its theoretical uncertainties on predicted cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy power spectra. The physics of the primordial recombination problem can be divided into two qualitatively different aspects. On the one hand, a detailed treatment of the non-thermal radiation field in the optically thick Lyman lines is required for an accurate recombination history near the peak of the visibility function. On the other hand, stimulated recombinations and out-of equilibrium effects are important at late times and a multilevel calculation is required to correctly compute the low-redshift end of the ionization history. Another facet of the problem is the requirement of computational efficiency, as a large number of recombination histories must be evaluated in Markov chains when analyzing CMB data. In this thesis, an effective multilevel atom method is presented, that speeds up multilevel atom computations by more than 5 orders of magnitude. The impact of previously ignored radiative transfer effects is quantified, and explicitly shown to be negligible. Finally, the numerical implementation of a fast and highly accurate primordial recombination code partly written by the author is described. The second part of this thesis is devoted to one of the potential galactic foregrounds for CMB experiments: the rotational emission from small dust grains. The rotational state of dust grains is described, first classically, and assuming that grains are rotating about their axis of greatest inertia. This assumption is then lifted, and a quantum-mechanical calculation is presented for disk-like grains with a randomized nutation state. In both cases, the probability distribution for the total grain angular momentum is computed with a Fokker-Planck equation, and the resulting emissivity is evaluated, as a function of environmental parameters. These computations are implemented in a public code written by the author.</p

One of these studies is 'edge detection' which is also a feature of the image processing. Analysis of radiological images with edge detection can be done with microprocessor designs as in modern computers.In fetal biometry calculations, it is known that femur length (FL) is the most valid parameter used for fetal age and height measurement. This study is an example of processing with Raspberry Pi 3 using a display method US image and calculating by using image edge detection feature. Fetal length calculation is a method that has been used and developed for many years by means of the formulas developed for length calculation and measuring the femur length. In addition to the computerized applications of the method, fetal lenght calculation via US image was done with only one monitor and Raspberry Pi 3 model B device. Simplecv program is loaded on the Raspberry Pi 3 model B, using the installed Raspbian Jessie operating system. This loading is benefite from the edge detection feature of the program on ImageJ image processing program

    A study on the epiphytic algae of the nilüfer stream (Bursa)

    In our study, water samples were taken monthly between August 1997 and June 1998 from six selected stations in the region, from the source of the Nilüfer stream to the point where it joins the Marmara Sea. Temperature (C°), pH. total dissolved substance (TDS), conductivity (EC), dissolved oxygen (DO) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) values of the samples were measured. The epiphytic algal flora. and the population density and the abundance degree of species were determined. In the community of epiphytic algae, members of Bacillariophyta were dominant and Encyonema minutum (Hilse ex Rabh.) D.G.Mann, (Cymbellaceae). Achnanthidium minutissimum (Kütz.) Czarn. (Achnanthaceae). Navicula cryptocephala Kūtz. var. cryptocephala (Naviculaceae). N. cryptocephala var. veneta (Kūtz.) Rabh. (Naviculaceae). Nitzschia palea (Kütz.) W. Smith (Nitzschiaceae), and Synedra ulna (Nitz.) Ehr. var. ulna (Fragilariaceae) were the most frequent species found. In addition to diatoms, the members of Chlorophyta. Cyanophyta, Chrysophyta. Cryptophyta and Euglenophyta were represented by a few species
