    <p><span>Hypertension, sometimes referred to as high blood pressure, is a long-term medical disorder characterized by a consistently raised blood pressure in the arteries. Renal failure, peripheral arterial disease, ischemic and hemorrhagic congestive heart failure/stroke, and coronary artery disease are all significantly aggravated by hypertension. </span><span>Hypertension is also called a silent killer, as it may not cause symptoms until it leads to complications.<span> People with high blood pressure can experience symptoms including, severe headaches, chest pain, dizziness, difficulty in breathing, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, confusion, buzzing in the ears, nosebleeds, and abnormal heart rhythm. </span>In Ayurveda the term hypertension is not mentioned, it can be understood by assessing the involved <em>Dosha, Dushya, Strotas</em> etc. <span>Many research studies carried out on hypertension in which different terminologies can be correlated with </span></span><span>hypertension, includes Raktagatavata, Siragatavata, Pittavrita Vata, and Vyanabala Vaishamya, however most recently, Ayurvedic researchers have referred to it as Vyanabala Vaishamya. </span><strong><span><span> </span>Aim:</span></strong><span> </span><strong><span>-</span></strong><span> Evaluation of comparative efficacy of <em>Kalmegh Vati</em> and Amlodipine<em> </em>in the management of stage 1 essential Hypertension. <strong>Method:</strong> </span><span>88 participants in total will be enrolled in this randomized standard controlled single-blind equivalency clinical trial and split into two equal groups. Participants in the study will be between 30 and 60 years of age who have a systolic blood pressure of 140–159 mmHg and a diastolic blood pressure of 90–99 mmHg. </span><span>Group A will receive tab Amlodipine<em> </em>adjuvant to lifestyle changes, while Group B will be administered <em>Kalmegh Vati</em> adjuvant to lifestyle changes, for Thirty days. Assessments will be conducted at baseline (day 0) and on the 15th day. <strong>Result</strong>: The results will be subjected to statistical analysis using appropriate methods. Conclusions will be drawn based on the observations and results obtained in this study.</span></p&gt

Advisor: Walter Low. 1 computer file (PDF); vi, 86 pages.The ultimate goal in the fields of interspecies chimerism and blastocyst complementation is to overcome the shortage of organs available for transplantation by developing transplantable human organs in relevant host animals such as pigs. In spite of the massive progress in these fields, there are still major hurdles, both technological as well as ethical, that need to be tackled. The current study focuses on developing a 3D ex-vivo Matrigel based system for culturing mouse embryos until the implantation stage. This ex-vivo system can be used to study the development of wild-type and chimeric embryos. This study also demonstrates the strength of single-cell RNA sequencing and analysis in optimizing interspecies chimerism studies. Lastly, this study discusses combining in silico approaches with in vivo and ex-vivo approaches to perform precise stage-matching experiments, to closely analyze development of grafted cells in chimeric embryos, and to discover crucial gene networks for interspecies chimerism.Shetty, Anala Vinay Kumar.
