Textbook of neonatal medicine : a Chinese perspective
This authoritative and comprehensive text is written by an internationally renowned group of medical experts of Chinese ethnic origin from the mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and six other countries. As a scientific and clinically practical review of current knowledge on medical care of normal and high-risk infants, this book covers the essentials of modern neonatal medicine. Conditions which are common or life-threatening have been selected for detailed description, while sufficient information is provided on uncommon or less serious problems to help gain an understanding of how they are best managed. A special emphasis has been put on describing experiences which are unique to Chinese infants. The 91 chapters reflect the personal interest and experience of the 77 contributors whose contemporary view and practical approach should prove useful for postgraduate trainees and specialists wishing to keep themselves up to date in neonatal medicinepublished_or_final_versionEditorsContributorsForewordsPrefaceIndex p8971 Organisation of Perinatal Care / Shoo K. Stenocypris malayica Victor & Fernando 1981
Stenocypris malayica Victor & Fernando, 1981b Figures 22 and 23. 1981b Stenocypris malayica n. sp. — Victor & Fernando: 157 –158; figs. 34–45. Material examined: Five females from WN6, one female (ECNU 20170417/HN17) dissected. Dimensions: Female, RV, n = 1, length 1.395 mm; LV, n = 1, length 1.404 mm. Description: In lateral view, carapace elongated. Anterior end wider than posterior. Dorsal margin slightly arched. Greatest height situated at mid-length. Calcified inner lamella anteriorly wide (Fig. 22B). Septa present along free margins, longest in antero-dorsal and antero-ventral areas (Fig. 22B). Natatory setae of A2 long, slightly exceeding tips of terminal claws (Fig. 23A). L6 with enlarged h3 seta (Fig. 23B). Three large denticles present on distal end of stem of right UR, with additional smaller denticles, reducing in size towards proximal end (Fig. 23C). Distribution: This species has been found in Indonesia (Victor & Fernando 1981b), Japan (Smith et al. 2011), Oceania (Meisch et al. 2007) and Thailand (Savatenalinton & Martens 2009). This species was found in Wanning on Hainan Island. Remarks: This species can be easily distinguished from other species in the genus by the claw-like h3 seta on the L6 (Fig. 23B). The natatory setae of A2 slightly exceed the tips of the terminal claws in the Hainan specimens, but were reported to be slightly shorter by Victor & Fernando (1981b).Published as part of Ma, Shunxin & Yu, Na, 2020, Freshwater ostracods (Crustacea) from Hainan Island, southern China, with description of a new species, pp. 201-243 in Zootaxa 4767 (2) on pages 227-228, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4767.2.1, http://zenodo.org/record/377072
YU
YU is an artistic home healthcare system including measuring, visualizing and displaying personal bio-data as well as biofeedback. It integrates with the home setting and aims for bringing aesthetic experience. Through the system YU, we explore possibilities of design health technologies with artistic interface into our home life. Instead of commonly used numeric or graphical interface, we use Chinese ink painting to visualize the pulse and HRV (Heart Rate Variability). We design an artistic interface with two display modes and three levels of interactivity involving in the home life.</p

Batucypretta Victor & Fernando 1981
Batucypretta sp. Figures 5. Material examined: Two females from YND1, two females (ECNU 20170415/HN25–26) dissected. Dimensions: Female, width 0.251 mm; RV, n = 2, length 0.411 mm, height 0.225 –0.229 mm; LV, n = 1, length 0.417 mm, height 0.236 mm. Description: Carapace sub-oval-shaped. LV overlapping RV ventrally. Anterior margin more rounded than posterior. Dorsal margin arched. LV with outer list along anterior margin (arrow c in Fig. 5A). One inner list running close to inner margin of posterior calcified inner lamella and in median part of anterior calcified inner lamella. Calcified inner lamella wider anteriorly than posteriorly. LV calcified inner lamella with inner list anteriorly and in postero-ventral region (Fig. 5B). Surface of valves pitted in central area (arrow a in Fig. 5A). Anterior and posterior margins of both valves with incomplete septa (not reaching line of concrescence) (arrow b in Fig. 5 B–D). Five long natatory setae on A2 well-developed, slightly exceeding tips of terminal claws, and sixth one shorter. Terminal segment of Mx palp cylindrical. Two tooth-bristles on third endite smooth (Fig. 5E). L6 four-segmented, penultimate segment undivided, with f seta exceeding end of terminal segment. Seta h3 tiny (Fig. 5F). Distribution: This species was only found in Sanya on Hainan Island. Remarks: Due to the sub-oval-shaped carapace with the incomplete septa along the free margins, this species was identified as a member of the subfamily Batucyprettinae, genus Batucypretta. All specimens show some decay, which occurred during transport to the laboratory, and remaining characters (part of the A2, Md, Mx, part of the L6 and L7) are not sufficiently preserved to fully describe this species. The specimens are adults as shown by the presence of 5+1 natatory setae on the A2 and the septa along the free margins (Smith & Martens 2000). Only one previous species, Batucypretta paradoxa Victor & Fernando, 1981a, has been reported in this genus, but it differs in the following characters: the length of the carapace of Batucypretta sp. (0.411 –0.417 mm) is smaller than that of B. paradoxa (0.490 –0.550 mm); the h3 seta on the L6 is present in adult Batucypretta sp., but absent in adult B. paradoxa (this seta exists in preadult instars); both tooth-bristles on the third endite of the Mx are smooth in Batucypretta sp., while they are toothed in Batucypretta paradoxa (Victor & Fernando 1981a).Published as part of Ma, Shunxin & Yu, Na, 2020, Freshwater ostracods (Crustacea) from Hainan Island, southern China, with description of a new species, pp. 201-243 in Zootaxa 4767 (2) on pages 211-212, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4767.2.1, http://zenodo.org/record/377072
