No full textL’article propose une réflexion sur la structure de l’œuvre de Fernand Braudel qui, articulée en trois livres, La Méditerranée, Civilisation matérielle, économie et capitalisme, L’identité de la France, se déploie sur près d’un demi-siècle et qui se constitue de trois projets historiques similaires mais distincts. M. Aymard en montre l’unité et la progression analysant les variations des concepts d’espace et de temps, auxquels F. Braudel a eu recours. Réinscrivant ses autres écrits comme autant de jonctions entre ces trois ouvrages majeurs, M. Aymard souligne que F. Braudel reste, malgré tout, l’auteur de La Méditerranée, dont le succès public, à partir des années 1970, avait été précédé d’une réception attentive par les milieux scientifiques internationaux, notamment espagnols. C’est à partir de l’Espagne et des archives de Simancas que Braudel avait mûri sa recherche qui, débordant le cadre ibérique, a eu la géniale intuition d’embrasser la Méditerranée dans son ensembleThis article presents a discussion of the structure of Fernand Braudel’s work, as represented by three books: La Méditerranée, Civilisation matérielle, économie et capitalisme, and L’identité de la France. This corpus, written over a period of about fifty years, constitutes a project at once unique and differentiated. M. Aymard seeks to show its unity and its diversity through an analysis of the concepts of space and time developed by Fernand Braudel. The author places Braudel’s other works within the triptych of the three great productions, but at the same time he stresses that Fernand Braudel was after all the author of La Méditerranée, a book which had already been well received by the international scientific community, particularly the Spanish community, before it achieved publishing success in the seventies. Indeed it was in Spain –specifically the National Archive at Simancas– that Fernand Braudel considered his task as a researcher and had the brilliant inspiration of extending it to the entire Mediterranean worldEl presente artículo propone una reflexión acerca de la estructura de la obra de Fernand Braudel, articulada en tres libros: La Méditerranée, Civilisation matérielle, économie et capitalisme, y L’identité de la France. Esta obra que se extiende a lo largo de unos cincuenta años constituye un proyecto único y al mismo tiempo distinto. M. Aymard se propone mostrar su unidad y su diversidad partiendo del análisis de los conceptos de espacio y tiempo forjados por Fernand Braudel. Aunque el autor inscriba las otras obras del historiador francés dentro del tríptico de las obras mayores, subraya que Fernand Braudel sigue siendo, al fin y al cabo, el autor de La Méditerranée, un libro cuyo éxito editorial a partir de la década de los años setenta había estado precedido por una buena aceptación en la comunidad científica internacional, en especial la española. Fue en España, concretamente en el Archivo de Simancas, donde meditó Fernand Braudel su labor de investigador y tuvo la genial idea de ampliarla al mundo del Mediterráne

Dans cet article, l'auteur discute en profondeur de la notion de développement culturel en se posant les questions suivantes : de quelle culture s'agit-il lorsque l'on parle de développement culturel ? Et pourquoi le développement ?
