Parodia y deporte en Quo Vadis, Sànchez?, de Francesc Trabal

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo estudiar la importancia de la parodia en Francesc Trabal a través del análisis de la novela Quo vadis Sànchez?, publicada en 1931. En primer lugar, se revisan las diferentes consideraciones que ha tenido la obra narrativa del autor por parte de la bibliografía precedente y, más adelante, se destaca la parodia como uno de los aspectos más relevantes que cabe considerar. Posteriormente, se describe el concepto de parodia y se analiza su efectividad en la novela trabaliana. Este análisis de la parodia en la novela de Trabal permite ver el juego de distanciamiento irónico de Trabal contra el modelo y los valores promovidos por la novela deportiva de la época.

Abstract:
The paper aims to study the importance of parody in Francesc Trabal through the analysis of the novel Quo Vadis, Sànchez?, published in 1931. Firstly, we examine the different considerations about the narrative work of the author shown in previous studies and, later, we underline parody as one of the most relevant aspects for examination. Subsequently, we describe the concept of parody and then we analyse its efficacy in this novel. The analysis of parody lets us understand Trabal’s game of ironic distance against the model and the values promoted by the sport novel from the period.

No full textResum: Després d’un preàmbul amb l’exposició sumària de les abundants i diverses interrogacions que ens suscita aquest text del poeta barroc barceloní Francesc Fontanella –que n’abasten tots els aspectes: transmissió, testimonis amb textos divergents, autoria, context de creació, gènere literari– es passa a intentar respondre-les una per una a partir de les darreres (poques) aportacions que s’han fet sobre la qüestió juntament amb noves aproximacions de l’autor. Se’n dreça, finalment, una hipòtesi de context i d’execució dramàtica.Aquesta introducció serveix de presentació de l’edició crítica del text amb una anotació exhaustiva. L’Annex incorpora tots els elements ecdòtics disposats per a la consideració del lector i de l’investigador.Paraules clau: Literatura barroca catalana; Francesc Fontanella; teatre barroc; Ambaixada del príncep Licomandro a l’emperador de Bugia.Abstract: Following a preamble that provides a summary of the abundant and diverse questions raised by this text penned by the Barcelona baroque poet Francesc Fontanella –which cover all aspects: its transmission in manuscripts, testimonies with divergent texts, authorship, creative context, literary genre– a response is offered for each based on the last (few) contributions that have been made on the issue together with new approaches by the author to the work. A hypothesis of the work’s context and its dramatic execution is then ultimately established.This introduction serves as a presentation of the critical edition of the text with exhaustive annotations. No full textSummary: During the interwar and post-war period, Francesc Trabal was commited to renewing the realist-naturalist fiction pattern from a parodic-ironic perspective. Trabal's narrator undertakes to programmatically break up the rules of realist verisimilitude. The author does not cease to appear in the story, while the characters are able to leave it through the splendid use of a metalepsis. This paper shows how Trabal's novels achieve a unique appearance due to intertextual relationships (quotation, allusion and refer- ence), mentions of cinema techniques, the incorporation of historical characters in the fictional world, the narrator's transformation in an unreliable storytelling machine, the paratextual potential and the reciprocal invasion of both author's and characters' dominions by means of the metalepsis, which leads to metafictional practice and reflec- tion.
