No full textThe article studies the reception in Spain of Gramsci’s last text written before his arrest, known as “Some Aspects of the Southern Question”. In doing so, we believe we can add a significant element that enriches the history of Gramsci’s reception in Spain in general. We begin in the 2010s, today, with the publication of his work in new translations in the co-official languages of the Iberian state. The essay focuses on the first and most intense phase of dissemination of Gramsci’s thought in Spain: the late 1970s, when Gramsci was the most discussed Marxist in the country. Through the prism of his figure, all the great questions that troubled the Left and especially the Communists at the time of the Transición are addressed. In this context, intellectuals and politicians close to the Italian Communist Party re-evaluated Gramsci’s pre-prison writings (including “Some Aspects of the Southern Question”) in order to have more arguments to support their political perspective, opposed to the party’s Eurocommunist turn

To drag the country into this miraculous palingenesis, fascism strengthened its alliance with the Church, emancipated itself from the diarchy with the Crown, concentrated military command on itself, sought a new constitutional formula of the State that would allow it to "last", he set up the project of a new state of the regions, started the legal system of racist and anti-Semitic inequality, abandoned what remained of the legality of the Statute replacing it with the principle of the will of the leader, tried to return to radical origins by assaulting the latifundium and finally set off on a new world war by breaking with the League of Nations, with the allies of the Great War, to move to a steel pact with the enemy of the time but now faithful ally: Nazi Germany.
The Sicilian intellectuals, to whom the pages of this work are dedicated, threw themselves body and soul into this political and cultural enterprise, presenting themselves as the true interpreters of the new imperial Italy: creators of public opinion, capable of cultural hegemony, able to absolve to the task of organic intellectuals of the fascist party

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Intravesical electromotive drug administration of mitomycin-C for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer
Full text linkThis article reviews intravesical application of electromotive drug administration (EMDA) for the treatment of bladder cancer and the evidence in support of intravesical passive diffusion chemotherapy in the management of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. Two recently published randomised trials adopting protocols that use EMDA to enhance urothelial transport of intravesical mitomycin-C showed it provided a therapeutical advantage and suggested that intravesical passive diffusion administration of chemothera-peutic drugs may be suboptimal. Further studies are required to demonstrate feasibility and advantage of intravesical EMDA of mitomycin-C in the wider uro-oncological community

Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
