Centralization of treasury management 2010
The book consists of five parts: 1. Treasury management and its responsibilities (Chapter 1‐4); 2. Decentralized treasury (Chapter 5); 3. Different phases of the centralization (Chapter 6‐9); 4. Outsourcing (Chapter 10) 5. Regional treasury centres (Chapter 11); 6. Best practices in a bank (Chapter 12); In the first part, the author describes the treasury management focusing on its three core responsibilities, such as assets and liabilities management, cash management, and financial risk management. The second part zooms in on decentralized treasury and decisions about the appropriate degree of centralization/decentralization of the treasury activities. Then we focus on the different phases of the process of centralization, from central interest rate and foreign exchange management through centralization of cash and liquidity management, then transaction processing up to fully centralized treasury. In part four we continue by discussing outsourcing as the next stage following centralization to achieve additional economic benefits. The fifth part contains especially a number of the location criteria, both tax and non‐tax, that must be evaluated during consideration where to establish the regional treasury centre. The last part deals with banking best practices in cash pooling from the point of view of the author that works in one of the top banks in Central and Eastern Europe region
Present results and methods of vectorcardiographic diagnostics of ischemic heart disease
: This article presents an overview of existing approaches to perform vectorcardiographic (VCG) diagnostics of ischemic heart disease (IHD). Individual methodologies are divided into categories to create a comprehensive and clear overview of electrical cardiac activity measurement, signal pre-processing, features extraction and classification procedures. An emphasis is placed on methods describing the electrical heart space (EHS) by several features extraction techniques based on spatiotemporal characteristics or signal modelling and signal transformations. Performance of individual methodologies are compared depending on classification of extent of ischemia, acute forms - myocardial infarction (MI) and myocardial scars localization. Based on a comparison of imaging methods, the advantages of VCG over the standard 12-leads ECG such as providing a 3D orthogonal leads imaging, better performance, and appropriate computer processing are highlighted. The issues of electrical cardiac activity measurements on body surface, the lack of VKG databases supported by a more accurate imaging method, possibility of comparison with the physiology of individual cases are outlined as potential reserves for future research

Synthesis of gold(I) carbene complexes from isocyanoferrocene
Title: Synthesis of gold(I) carbene complexes from isocyanoferrocene Author: Petr Harmach Department: Katedra anorganické chemie Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Petr Štěpnička, Ph.D., DSc. Abstract: The objective of this bachelor thesis was the synthesis of gold(I) carbene complexes. These complexes were synthetised from a newly prepared gold(I)-isocyanoferrocene complex and also directly from isocyanoferrocene. Carbene complexes were obtained from primary and secondary amines, and therefore complexes contain disubstituted or trisubstituted diaminocarbene moieties. All newly prepared complexes were characterized by NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis and infrared spectroscopy. The structures of the majority of the prepared complexes were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Key words: isocyanides, ferrocene, carbenes, gold(I) complexe
Homologous ferrocene phosphines
Title: Homologous ferrocene phosphines Author: Bc. Petr Vosáhlo Department: Department of Inorganic Chemistry Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Petr Štěpnička, Ph.D., DSc. Abstract: This thesis describes the synthesis and coordination behaviour of ferrocene diphosphines derived from 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene (dppf). Dppf is one of the most succesful ferrocene ligands, which can be used in various metal-catalyzed reactions. This study aimed to prepare analogous ligands with one dialkylphosphino substituent and one (diphenylphosphino)methyl group. These ligands were oxidized by KSeCN to afford the corresponding phosphinoselenides. The phosphinoselenides were used to assess sigma-donor abilities by measuring the coupling constant 1 JSeP via 31 P NMR spectroscopy. Lastly, the coordination behaviour of these ligands in palladium complexes was studied. The homologous ligands usually formed a mixtures containing a chelate complex and dimeric species with trans- coordinated ligands. Key words: ferrocene, phosphines, homologous ligands, palladium(II) complexes, structure elucidation

Background / objective
At many surgical and gastroenterological working places still persists the problem what to do with an adhered tumour in the rectum at an unfavourable distance from the anus. This paper presents the possibilities offered by contemporary coloproctology by means of TEM (transanal endoscopic microsurgery) applied to the lesions that are hardly accessible.
Patients and methods
At the Department of Surgery of University Hospital Ostrava, the TEM method has been used since August 2002. The technique itself was implemented by Buess in the year 1983. His working place in Tübingen, Germany serves also as a training centre for teaching TEM. In the Czech Republic, the TEM method was used for first time in 1992. In TEM methodology the advantages of mini-invasive endoscopic medical help and the advantages of surgical treatment are combined.
Results
At the Department of Surgery of University Hospital of Ostrava in the period between 01/2003 and 12/2003 we carried out 37 operations by means of TEM. Of this number, 15 patients were operated on for benign rectum affection, 18 for malign disease, other 4 operations were twice on periproctal fistula, one operation for rectum stenosis, one introduction of a self-expandible stent. In malign rectum lesions we performed CT and endosonography preoperatively and used TEM twice for carcinoma in situ, 6 times for T1NXM0 lesions, 3 times for T2NXM0 lesions and 4 times for T3NXM0 lesions. These patients were then operated on transabdominally on the basis of definite histological findings. For a palliative effect we used TEM twice in patients with metastatic liver affection T3NXMl and once for a patient with T4NXMl.
Conclusions
The TEM methodology introduced in 2002 has become an inseparable and inevitable component of coloproctological operations at our department. We think the main contribution of this method consists in a safe treatment of wide benign rectum lesions, in treatment of early rectal carcinoma stages, and last but not least, the use of TEM in palliative surgery of rectum while emphasising the quality of life preservation.
