Emotions positives, religion et spiritualité études psychologiques et bibliques
No full textL’étude des émotions a longtemps été dominée par les émotions négatives, mais récemment une petite révolution a eu lieu. Avec l’essor de la psychologie positive, l’intérêt et les recherches sur les émotions positives ont grandi. Dans le présent travail, nous nous attacherons à l’étude des émotions positives dans un domaine particulier, celui de la religion et de la spiritualité. Notre travail se voudra interdisciplinaire, interrogeant à la fois un texte fondateur de religions qu’est l’Ancien Testament (études bibliques) et les phénomènes religieux contemporains (études psychologiques). Plusieurs questions seront posées :
Quel est le rôle des émotions positives dans les rituels collectifs ?
Comment sont-elles vécues et exprimées dans l’Ancien Testament ?
Qu’apportent-elles pour les croyants ?
Peuvent-elles favoriser la croyance en une entité transcendante ?
Toutes les émotions positives se valent-elles ou certaines sont-elles plus pertinentes pour nos questions ? Par exemple celles qui, de par leurs caractéristiques, poussent l’individu à se dégager d’une vision à la première personne.
Nous tâcherons d’apporter des éléments de réponse à chacune de ces questions pour mieux comprendre non seulement le rôle des émotions positives dans la religion, mais aussi les émotions positives en elles-mêmes.(PSY 3) -- UCL, 201

Une analyse synchronique et littéraire des textes est effectuée. Je fais également appel aux recherches en psychologie des émotions pour faciliter l'identification des concepts clés qui permettent de définir une émotion. No full textThis article studies the emotion of pride in the Book of Psalms. In order to better understand the different types and functions of pride, it makes reference to the knowledge which has been accumulated in psychology concerning this emotion. Then, using a «narrative» analysis of certain Psalms, the similarities and specificities of the experience of pride in these poems are highlighted. It emerges how an emotion which, more than any other, is characterized by the focalisation on the self and the glorification of the self is able, or unable, to open up to the recognition of God. This allows one to overcome the unique conception of pride as an undesirable emotion (hubris) and to take into account the cases where pride is the path to personal and community fulfilment and to fulfilment in the relationship with God
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Forgiving a Good Heart: The Role of Motives and Mind Perception in Lay Understandings of Divine Forgiveness
Get PDFForgiveness is vital for relational and social wellbeing. Yet we know very little about the causes and consequences of a crucial type of forgiveness for millions of Christians in the U.S.—divine forgiveness. God’s mind is different than humans’ in many ways that could impact how people expect Him to relate to one critical factor for forgiveness—the morality of an offenders’ motives. Participants viewed God as more forgiving of others (Studies 1 and 3) and themselves (Study 2) than humans, but only expected Him to be less forgiving when others had immoral motives (Studies 1 and 3). Manipulating someone’s loving nature and insight into an offender’s motives to make their mind more similar to God made them seem more forgiving but no less sensitive to offenders’ motives (Study 3). Participants anticipated that those with immoral motives would show more personal growth after receiving God’s forgiveness (Study 4), yet those admitting to immoral motives themselves showed less desire for self-improvement after seeking forgiveness from God (Study 5). While U.S. Christians expect God to be a loving but morally concerned forgiver to others, they see God only as unconditionally loving and forgiving in their own experiences.Doctor of Philosoph

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
