Hate crime laws don’t do enough to address bias or to improve the status of minority groups.
Since 1978, out of the fifty states, forty-five have passed some kind of hate crime statute. But do such laws actually lead to beneficial social change for minority groups? Comparing newspaper article coverage of gays and lesbians in states with and without hate crime protections for sexual orientation, Jace Valcore argues that hate crime laws have generally failed to address bias against and improve the status of minority groups. In addition, hate crime laws, which involve punishment and guilt, may be the least beneficial way to achieve sufficient social change

5-6 year old children's increase of will in handicrafts
Bakalaura darba autore: Laura Jace. Bachelor paper author: Laura Jace. The subject of the Bachelor's paper: “5- 6 years old children’s increase of will in handicrafts”. The aim is to study the development of the properties of the elder preschool children and their opportunities for promotion in handicrafts. The analysis of theoretical literature revealed that the will is one of the most important characteristics of a person's personality, which is expressed in readiness for purposeful, deliberate action, overcoming difficulties, and trying to achieve the chosen goal. An important role is played by the teacher next to the child, on the path to the will, motivating and interested in the action. At a preschool age, the teacher creates the child's desire to act, to create and pursue the goal. As a result of the research, it was shown how important it is to motivate children to work, interested in narration and visual images. Also important is the child's purposefulness for the work to be performed, and independent activity, which is one of the will properties. It was concluded that a teacher plays an important role in the development of the child's will. Who, with his positive attitude, can help the child to develop and develop, but to remember the praise and encouragement. The author of the paper believes that the goal has been achieved, the objectives have been achieved. The work consists of 51 pages, including 5 tables, 22 images, and used 51 sources of information
How Hate Crime Legislation Shapes Gay and Lesbian Target Groups: An Analysis of Social Construction, Law, and Policy
“We Will Build a Great Wall”: Domination, Criminalization, and Expatriation in Trump Campaign and Rally Speeches
Given the import and impact of political campaign promises, this study systematically analyzed Donald Trump’s campaign and rally speeches using a typology of verbal-textual hostility (V.T.H.) developed by Asquith (2013) from criminal hate incidents in the United Kingdom. Trump used all forms of V.T.H. previously identified by Asquith, except for sexualization, and new forms that may be specific to the political context. Analysis of speeches from 2015–2018 revealed that expatriation, criminalization, and domination were the most frequently used forms of V.T.H. deployed by Trump, which we consider in relation to the historical, social, and political context and consequences
