- Nell'estetica del viso i rapporti che intercorrono tra naso, labbro e mento sono fondamentali, ed un' accurata valutazione degli stessi è necessaria per
l'impostazione di un corretto piano di trattamento integrato ortodontico-chirurgico.
Nella maggior parte degli studi effettuati fino ad oggi l'estetica del labbro è stata considerata molto più da un punto di vista statico, mentre è stato
scarsamente considerato il rapporto dinamico esistente tra i tessuti molli e quelli duri, perchè è necessario applicare ai video dei requisiti per ottenere
una validità scientifica e la riproducibilità delle immagini.
L'analisi da noi eseguita prende in considerazione pazienti affetti da Cheilognatopalatoschisi su cui è stata effettuata una valutazione estetica labiale
tramite misurazioni antropometriche poi confrontante con quelle di pazienti che non presentavano schisi. È stato inoltre effettuato un test sulla differente
percezione estetica che si ha dei nostri pazienti in un confronto tra visione statica e dinamica.
- MATERIALI E METODI:
I pz selezioni sono stati divisi in 2 gruppi :
- Gruppo di Studio : 10 pz (5 maschi e 5 femmine) tutti affetti da CGPS con età compresa tra 8 e 12 aa (età
media= 10,4) - senza ulteriori malformazioni associate
- Gruppo Controllo : 10 pz (5 maschi e 5 femmine) con età compresa tra 7 e 12 aa (età media= 10,1)
Tutti i pz sono stati fotografati ad una distanza di 150cm dalla fotocamera con testa fissata ad un
craniostato.
La misurazione dinamica è stata effettuata facendo eseguire ad i pz movimenti delle labbra.1
Fotografie a video sono successivamente stati giudicati da una commissione di 20 persone : 5 ortodontisti,
5 dentisti, 5 medici chirurghi e 5 persone non praticanti odontoiatria nè medicina.
Le valutazioni estetiche sono state eseguite secondo la metodica proposta da Asher-McDade2 e Morrant e
Shaw3; le variabili prese in considerazione sono state in parte modificate per rispondere alle esigenze del
presente studio. Presa in considerazione una scala con punteggio da 1 a 5 basato sulla classificazione dell'
Eurocleft ed ogni caratteristica è stata giudicata usando la seguente scala di valori :
Ottimo (5),
Buono (4),
Sufficiente (3),
Inadeguato (2),
Fortemente inadeguato (1).3
RISULTATI:
L'estetica facciale dei pazienti affetti da schisi risulta compromessa rispetto a quella dei pazienti del gruppo controllo.
Anche nell'ambito del gruppo di studio si evidenziano delle differenze date dalla tipologia della schisi e dalla chirurgia
eseguita.
Sia nella valutazione statiche che in quella dinamica si rileva una maggiore simmetria nelle schisi bilaterali rispetto a
quelle monolaterali.
L'estetica statica dipende dal tipo di schisi presente (le bilaterali risultano complessivamente più simmetriche rispetto
alle monolaterali) e dal tipo di chirurgia effettuata .
Anche in movimento i pazienti con schisi monolaterale presentano maggiore asimmetria complessiva.
Dalle misurazioni antropometriche è stato possibile dedurre che esteticamente, nei pazienti che
presentano schisi mono e bilaterali, la parte maggiormente affetta è il vermiglio del labbro superiore.
Le differenze con i pazienti con schisi bilaterale sono state riscontrate maggiormente per quanto
riguarda l'ampiezza del vermiglio del labbro che risultava leggermente più lungo in questi pazienti,
secondo già quanto precedentemente affermato da Ferrario ed Al.4
- DISCUSSIONE e CONCLUSIONI :
Nell'ambito dell'analisi eseguita abbiamo voluto porre attenzione alle simmetrie medie presentate dai soggetti
esaminati. Dividendo le simmetrie a riposo da quelle misurate durante la produzione di suoni e la dinamica del
sorriso, è stato evidente come la frequenza di simmetria nei soggetti a riposo era maggiore. Il coinvolgimento
dell'orbicolare, la cui distribuzione delle fibre è tuttavia anomala nei pazienti affetti da schisi, dà ancora più
risalto alla malformazione del labbro.
Uno dei primi autori a studiare la simmetria dei pazienti con schisi è stato Offerman5 il quale riscontrò che,
sebbene la chirurgia possa conferire alle labbra di un paziente affetto da CGPS un aspetto normale a riposo,
l'assimetria diventa molto più evidente col movimento ed in particolar modo durante la fonazione.
Praticamente, l'opposto di quello che succede nei pazienti non affetti da schisi labiale, i quali appaiono
maggiormente simmetrici durante il movimento.
Nei pazienti con schisi la correzione chirurgica della fissurazione non sempre riesce a conferire al labbro un
aspetto normale. Le deviazioni della normalità sono differenti a seconda che si tratti di pazienti con schisi
bilaterale o monolaterale e la nostra analisi ha rivelato che la parte dela labbro maggiormente affetta è il
vermiglio del labbro superiore. Quest'ultimo appare infatti deviato ed appirattito nel lato della schisi dei
pazienti con labiopalatoschisi monolaterale, mentre risulta essere appiattito e più allungato nei pazienti affetti
da labiopalatoschisi bilaterale. IN questo ultimo caso è stato però riscontrato una maggiore simmetria del
vermiglio, sia per lunghezza che per larghezza
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
